This sequel was definitely a step up from the previous one. Tougher puzzles (in a good way), and a nice tale of tragedy. Worth playing.
Absolute cinema
Great puzzle game, haven't found a match for any of the Rusty Lake franchise yet. I recommend playing the games in order, this way the story will make more sense.

Great Rusty Lake game, spanning multiple smaller screens and timelines. It still has vague, dark and mysterious story but it's easier to follow than other entries of this franchise.
wowowow played this in one sitting! not too challenging, but just enough to keep it interesting. surprisingly long for how cheap it is
A much more streamlined and intuitive experience compared to Cube Escape and Rusty Lake: Hotel! I would say the puzzles here are easier to understand but still as satisfying to complete. The only tricky ones I would say are the ones towards the end, trying to get all the family secrets and trying to understand the recipes for the elixir. Takes a lot of trial and error if you're not using any guides at all. Overall, pleasant and fulfilling experience!

This does NOT make a good stand-alone puzzle game. This game DOES however serve as the most important installment in the Rusty Lake series.
If you're just looking for a quick one-and-done point and click puzzle game, there are much better options. However for those willing to invest a few dozen hours following lore, cross-referencing notes, and experiencing the entire Rusty Lake series this game, and the others in the franchise, are absolute gems.
cant full screen and one achievement requires to do whole game again if you didnt get it immediately, otherwise its great!
The puzzles were a bit easy in my opinion, but the story was quite engaging ((I HATE ALBERT, HE WAS SCARY AF))
My most favourite puzzles were the emblems finding parts. It was so fun jumping around memories trying to figure out where it was hidden. I really love that.
My least favourite one would be the alchemy at the very end of the game. It was just the part that required good memory and fu*k-around-and-find-out way of thinking. And I am not quite good with it, I had to look it up for some recipes ;-;
Overall, very good experience and very enjoying. S-tier for me comparing with other games in the series.

I love rusty lake
My personal favorite of the Rusty Lake games, although there's still a fair amount of gross-out scenes that feel unnecessary. Still, I love stories that follow messed-up families through the generations, the puzzles are mostly pretty intuitive, and it lacks the nihilism or obtuseness of some of the worse games in the series.

I've been making my way through the Rusty Lake catalogue and found many gems, but this one unfortunately misses the mark. The lore and gameplay is revealed in a really cool way, but this game constantly crashes (it has autosave, thank god, but it's still annoying). I'm also unable to get any achievements (it's glitched or something). Puzzles are still fun and the lore is interesting, though.

Highly recommend this game for the Rusty Lake fans! As usual with this franchise, lots of puzzles with varying levels of difficulty (still haven't figured out how to do all the bonus achievements), but this one is great if you wanna learn more about the Rusty Lake's lore and are already familiar with the characters. The immersion is very quick and the creepy vibes are perfect, just as you should expect from this franchise!
I love this game. Lots of puzzles. This is a great waste of time when you need to relax and just enjoy yourself.

Nice story compared with the other games in the franchise.
As with all Rusty Lake games, the art style and lore are awesome. I'm not a big fan of the controls for this one, but I like the puzzles more than some of the ones in Cube Escape and Hotel.
thoughtfully crafted puzzles in an eerie and unsettling world which puts you on edge all the while drawing you in. puzzles are complex enough to be entertaining and some will stall you for a short time but the game follows rules it has constructed for the world and it does not stray.
Pretty easy.

Amazing game , one of the best in the series
Great addition to the Rusty Lake series! Same few complaints as with a few of them; the measurements on some of the puzzles don't add up, like the insect puzzle I ended up having to resort to a guide because I wasn't getting the dig marker lined up at all. I also wish there weren't so many instances of having to open up paint to paste a screen capture when it would be much better to have the patterns in a little log book or something you could quickly pull up when you're solving. All in all though, it's a great game.
dives even more into the crazy incredible lore of the rusty lake universe. the puzzles were great, the plot was thick and just when i thought i had finished the game i got even more puzzles and lore! 10/10

casual puzzle game with great story
Great game
No matter which order you play this game, every single one leaves you speechless with the incredible lore reveals of the rusty lake universe. Roots, however, delves so deep into the insanity of this family at the center of the lake mystery that it easily takes the top spot of the series. It's lengthy but keeps you hooked from start to finish and makes you piece the story together by yourself in a way that makes you feel complicit in the insanity. Incredible!
A nice little game. The puzzles are kind of "meh" but the overall feel is great and consistent. Almost lovecraftian.
I really enjoyed this dark little puzzle/horror game. Puzzles weren't so hard that I felt dumb, but not so easy to be boring. Got way darker than I thought, going in relatively blind. Definitely worth playing.
This is probably the most lore revealing game so far in the Cube Escape / Rusty Lake series. Though I haven't yet played Paradise so I'm not 100% sure. It has a lot of story stuff if you've been following the series, which is nice for people like me.
From a gameplay perspective, this one is just like the others. The simple puzzles and old flash style still persist. It's nothing horribly new, but nothing bad either. The two things I will say are that this game is very heavy on the drag feature. You have to drag your mouse along the screen a lot. Additionally, after several years, this game still cannot be full screened. This makes it a bit harder to immerse yourself into the experience.
If you've played the other games from the Rusty Lake series then definitely give this one a shot. If you haven't played those games, then go play them.
Very short puzzle solving game, story about a dysfunctional family with weird characters, it's ok if you got some time to kill, probably not fun if you are looking for some serious puzzles.
Another great spooky and spectacular time courtesy of Rusty Lake. Currently playing my way through every game in the RL universe :)
