I last played the demo version on the Xbox 360 ten years ago and struggled a lot back then. Now I come back ten years later to finish the game on the real version. Would recommend the game if you're into the retro side of gaming and dungeon crawlers. Its nostalgic and pretty fun.
This is the pinnacle of gaming. I finished the game crying, knowing there will never be another that comes close to even a fraction of Crypt of the Serpent King's perfection.
Originally played the 4k version on my xbox before I had my pc and enjoyed it so much that i bought here as well! fun to play! Wish they made another one and that the trading cards were of the bosses instead of the grunts you fight but still really enjoy the game.
Crypt of the Serpent King is basically the Temu equivalent of Elder Scrolls Daggerfall or Ultima Underworld and its the most absolute peaked jank dungeon crawler I've ever played in my life!
Peak fiction, the gameplay's simple but forward, underrated gem, has great story, play if you want to be successful in life, it changed my whole life, made me sigma, gave me rizz.

Well, the combat is way bettter than skyrim, no joke
Whist yes, this is the same game as the xbox 360, its THE SAME GAME
this is a port, not a remaster, so all the jank is still here. I want to 100% it and plan on doing so, but it's going to be miserable.
I've played through this game thrice and I'm not even sure the RPG mechanics are real, that's how little difference it makes to the end result. It's also criminally easy to just run past the enemies, as they pose no real threat. The bosses can be easily beaten by simply strafing around them.
Normal and casual are too easy, hardcore feels PUNISHINGLY punishingly too difficult, almost impossible to defeat multiple enemies at a time which will invariably end up happening even if you try to cheese it. Combat is very repetitive, fighting the same enemies over and over with vary little "skill" involved other than twitching back and forth to try dodge. This game really need a capability of saving mid floor but because it doesn't let you you'll be repeating the same stage over and over for 30 minutes, be surprised you reached the boss with 10 health left and promptly get squashed and have to do it all over again. Badly designed, feels incomplete, no actual meat or depth here.

I really liked this game, but after falling through the floor multiple times, I can't recommend it. It's a very nostalgic game on the XBOX 360 and I'm grateful it was ported to the PC for basically the same price as it was back then, but it has bugs that make it borderline unplayable and that's just not fair.
For $2, there are a lot of worse games out there, but the bugs in this one lead to a not-recommended.
Todd Howard hasn't dropped a good game since this came out and I don't think it's a coincidence, Crypt of the Serpent King has him shook. Elder Scrolls 6 is washed compared to this masterpiece.
