~STORY~
Allen is a young boy who has lost his memory.
Bereaved by the loss of his mother and father, he eventually ends up at a home for lost children.
One day, he sets out to investigate a rumor heard from the other children. This is where Allen’s story really begins...
~WHAT KIND OF A GAME?~
Alicemare is an adventure game blending elements of exploration, storybooks and fairytales, and just a hint of horror.
Those with an aversion to horror need not worry; this title only includes subtle touches of the genre here and there.
There are no survival-horror elements to the gameplay nor the story, and you can rest assured that the only thing keeping you up at night will be your enjoyment of the game.
~CHARACTERS~
◆Allen
A young boy who has tragically lost both his memory and his parents.
He likes books and newspapers.
◆Letty & Rick
Letty is a young girl with a bright and energetic personality.
Rick, her twin, is a boy who looks exactly like Letty.
◆Chelsy
A shy little girl.
Chelsy loves her teddy bears.
◆Joshua
A mischievous young boy who likes to cause trouble.
Joshua is currently obsessed with frogs.
◆Stella
A curious little girl with an unreadable face.
Stella is always thinking to herself silently.
◆Teacher
A male teacher at the children’s home where Allen lives.
He is searching for something―but what, and why...?
◆White Rabbit
The White Rabbit technically fills the role of Allen’s guide.
However, he seems to have little interest in actually “guiding”.
◆Cheshire Cat
The Cheshire Cat is another character who guides Allen along on his journey.
He has the ability to appear and disappear at will, and is characterized by his very peculiar manner of speaking.

The aesthetic and music are stunning. The character designs of Allen and Teacher remind me of Oz and Gil from Pandora Hearts T-T

Fun little adventure. Nothing too flashy, but a simple and fun game.
This game is an extremely well put-together, enjoyable piece of story-telling. I enjoyed it so much when I initially played the game several years ago, that I planned to play it a second time in the future after I had forgotten some of the story beats (& so I could get 2 achievements I missed). I played it again in 2024 and can say I definitely enjoyed my second playthrough.
While this game does show its age, I believe the price is pretty fair given how well everything (story-telling, music, art, etc.) goes together.
I can play tetris in this game!

This is a really fun game! I love the art and the story is really cool; i loved all the endings and secrets. The game play mechanics and puzzles were really fun as well. Overall a really great game.

read a review online that said that this was a "puzzle game" and got it for that reason. I found that most of the puzzles are actually riddles. I dislike riddle games and am very disappointed.
Tbh its a bit of a slow game to start with, but if you love puzzles and slight horror its a great game. Plus the story is immaculate for the price point, the take on fairytale characters with a twist is honestly what makes this game so good.
I wanted to play this game for a while and tonight finally did it!
I'm a big fan of games like that so I was excited to complete it. I saw a lot of comments about the boring plot but for me, it was indeed interesting and fine in general. This game wasn't perfect too, of course. At the start, I felt quite a lack of choice and I also got lost quite a lot because it wasn't intuitively clear what to do in some places. But after I finished this game, I felt like it was a well-spent time. It's quite a shame that we're not able to know more about some characters but there's nothing you can do with it:,).

Creepy-cute walking simulator that inexplicably has Tetris in it. Has way more endings and alt dialogue than I was expecting so keep lots of saves if you wanna see everything. Not really my thing and the riddles got a little grating towards the end but if you're into RPGmaker horror and similar things you could do worse with 3 bucks.
Love this game a lot. The story is portrayed in an amazingly captivating way and is also easy to understand. The puzzles are, for the most part, not too hard to solve, but there are parts where you can stumble. You should save often. However, I must say that if you're dying on purpose (like I've been doing), it's not really worth it, as you won’t get any achievements that way.
I love the fact that there are multiple endings, although I was totally punched in the gut when I somehow managed to get the "Recipient of Love" ending just because I misunderstood what I should do after getting the key from the White Rabbit. The portrayal of fairy tales in this story is also very fun—subtle enough, but you can definitely pick it up if you know at least a little bit about them.
Joshua did confuse me a bit since I couldn’t tell which tale he’s supposed to represent—it's "The Boy Who Cried Wolf," for anyone curious. I still can’t figure out which tale the Teacher is supposed to be, though.
Overall, I truly recommend this game if you love pixel adventure games with darker themes that involve some puzzle-solving.
Lovely short Game with interessting Riddles and multiple sad endings. You should save a lot. Sometimes I was surprised how fast you can actually die in this “Dream” World. Don’t eat mushrooms…
Oh and if you liked the Story, there’s also a Novel. It follows the story of the game but there is more perspective, so if you still have questions or feel like something's missing, you should read it. It’s really captivating.
