Game is not fun when focusing on score (misses are too punishing) - but if you come for exercise you may find this great. I usually just focus on number of waves cleared. That said, I've destroyed the insane leaderboard :P .
At first I felt like it's expensive for the simple game it is - but it is fully worth it for me, I'm just wondering why there isn't a better game like this.
In normal level you can't play so fast because you have to react where the cubes spawn, but after two days of play I got the hang of hard and I got sore muscles already. A few days later I got comfortable with the insane level, and there it is possible to move almost as fast as possible because we can look ahead and plan movements far enough that reaction time is no longer a bottleneck.
I've made it my regular exercise now. One thing I hate is the scoring system. More often I got less than half of my top score because missing (esp. accidentally touching another cube) even just once is extremely punishing. When I play I just focus on clearing as many waves as possible, get in the "flow" and exercise, my heart rate goes above 150 according to YUR fit and I would sweat.
This is now the only game I play on VR... on personal story, I bought VR set for exercising and played Beat Saber a lot but at higher level it focuses too much on the wrists, I even tried alternative grips and the mods that makes it an exercise keeps breaking because the devs do not support mods at all.
But Bitslap is just great exercise right out of the box.
Great for a high intensity workout, it's a simple game but it's it's a fun way to exercise.
Very simple, but very hard. It's a great workout, but unless you love chasing high scores it's probably not for you. I mean, watch the trailer, that's what you get. That's all. If you're cool with that though, it's a nifty little workout that will break you.
Got it for cardio work in VR, while it is good for that it is deeply unengaging, feels like a chore to play and is dreadfully uninteresting. As a result I dont even use it for cardio anymore.
Quite conflicted with the rating I should give this game. On one hand it's a very simple and fun VR game that puts your reflexes to the test while getting a good heart rate going as well (I play this game as a form of cardio tbh). On the other hand, the developers are anything but talented. The biggest issue I have is the lack of game room settings. Every time you load Bitslap it takes a minute or two to get going (I have a rtx2070 w/ intel 9th gen) AND THEN it faces the whole front of the game in some random ass direction in some random ass spot of your room with no way to correct this. You also can't pause the game once it's started or restart it or return to the menu screen. There's also no game modes besides normal, hard, and insane. Why not get a little creative? You could make a mode where you have to alternate hands, or have to hit blocks corresponding to your left and right hand. I mean there's so much extensible potential, with nothing to show for it. Oh yeah, I learned what "god rays" are after playing this game too. Another critique, when you get up to "insane" mode, it can be hard to know which blocks to hit next. Why not have the one you're supposed to hit next a little brighter than the others or something? I actually thought this was already implemented at first until I realized it was just the crazy god rays. Anyway, I like the game and the simple concept. Luckily, I'm sure it was hella easy to develop or whoever did develop this wouldn't have been able to do it. Last note I guess, the most "recent" update was in 2016 so I wouldn't expect any of this to ever be fixed. I'm going to "recommend" this game because I play it a lot despite all its flaws, but I really needed to vent about all that as it can be painfully annoying sometimes.
Runs fine on the Oculus Rift but I'm afraid my arms will fall off if I play too much
This is a fun game, but it has no lasting entertainment value for me because I'm too bad at it. ;)
I don't think it's worth full price, but definitely pick it up on sale.
This is a really neat little VR title, one that if you are looking to do some exercise with will get your heart rate up super fast.
"Punch the air" cardio at it's finest.
Very challenging to get past Normal difficulty. At least for me.
I do enjoy this game, and it is worth a purchase if you like vr games that test your endurance. However I feel like the sales blip "play your own music" is a bit misleading. I was under the asumption this would be a rhythm game, like audio shield, since it had an emphasis on custom music. Still, the gameplay itself is fun and the visuals are stimulation without it being tied to music.
Best comparison I can make is it's a virtual whack a mole game, with a minimalist art style. Simple but fun. Worth checking out if you want exercise while you play a game.
Cheap.
Simple.
Zen.
3 good reasons to play Bitslap. It's crazy how touching lit cubes in sequence can actually be fun, like Simon but much faster and without pauses.
This game allows you to get your pulse up quick, as well as focus and hit the zone very fast.
This game has now been added to part of my exercise routine its will get you sweaty. Great way to work out and to listen to your own music.
I found it best if you put your thumb through the top ring of Vive controller and clench your fists its easier to punch the boxes and makes it less lightly for the controllers to slip out your hands as you get into the swing of punching those boxes lights out.
Great Work out
Simple, fun, addictive and very easy to get lost in. Good cardio, too.
Why are you still reading this? It's cheap, buy it.
Fun simple gameplay defeinitely worth the small pricetag. Also a good workout. Dev listens to criticisms & makes changes!
screw workout and cardio just do this game, it will make you sweat like a pig! xD
My only negative is that the option to add your own music doesn't work. You need to navigate to the Steam Bitslap folder and put OGG music files there. Doing so for me simply mutes any music leaving effects. Not a huge thing - this isn't a music game per se but it just means running some music externally. Otherwise good 'Zen' game and worth the money.
This game feels like something a Starship captain would play in his downtime to keep his skills sharp.
This is the friggin' future.
Simple, catchy and with straightforward feedback on player progress. What's not to like?
I hadn't been this sweaty even when i played Space Pirate Trainer and Longbow on The Lab.
they very swiftly fixed all the issues i reported, which is awesome, thanks for making such a nice fun game
(efited for updates)
