I can only liken this book to digging inside of an African Blackwater mine.
The work is abysmal, pay is non-existent and all of the promises of a better future are so far away that it is comical when those promises come true.
All of a sudden you are not surrounded by orphan children mine-workers but by a cast of characters you are actually starting to like, you feel accomplished in your work and then right before you finally fish out that blood diamond you have killed your colorful cast of characters over.... you have to buy book 2.... god dammit
I didn't like the writing.
I think it's pretty bad. Plenty of silly anime tropes. Characters with no depth. You don't actually play the protagonist, they have their own thoughts and concerns regardless of what you think as a player. To be fair, maybe the sequels get better, I don't think I will try them out, tho.
