About the Game
Block Wave VR brings the classic arcade block puzzler to life in virtual reality on the HTC Vive.Compete for the high score in this fast paced, addictive virtual reality block puzzler. Inspired by 1980’s Synthwave with an original score, Block Wave will keep you immersed for hours! Block after block, they don't stop. Can you keep up, stack them and rack up the points?
The classic block puzzler brought into VR creates a whole new immersive challenge that you won't be able to put down!
Includes four levels of difficulty with custom boards and songs. Unlock each and play them all!
Controls:
- Press Touchpad directions to turn the block left/right/up/down
- Swipe Touchpad to roll the block left/right
- Trigger to grab the block
- Trigger + Down to speed block down
- Move board up with right grip, move board down with left grip.

A 3D tetris type experience that gives for interesting gameplay. Super fun!
I love Tetris, it is one of my all time favorite games. That said it did not translate well to VR. Even on discount I'd say pass on this one, it just plays very clunky.
using oculus touch and the game is clearly not designed for them. The controls for "grabbing" the block was non-responsive at times.
It's a VR puzzle game similar to Tetris, in this case you must fill up an entire XY plane with blocks to remove them.
The control works well enough, but you have to use your thumbsticks to turn the blocks, and you will wish that you could use your hands! ( Also, using Oculus Rift, the in game hands don't face the way your real hands do. )
There's not that much variety here, ( there's only one 80s music tune, that speeds up as you play! )
but you can have fun with it. Hopefully they will add some updates!
I don't recommend this game until they fix the controls. You rotate the blocks with the trackpad, and it doesn't work well. They need to update it so you can rotate the blocks with the movement of your controllers, like in Kubz VR. If they do, I'll change my review to positive.
Fun 3D tetris style game! The controls take some getting used to (rotating the blocks mid-flight is a challenge) but once you get that down, it makes for fun and challenging gameplay. I recommend giving it a shot if you're into tetris style puzzle games, especially for the low price. Even better, I got it in a game bundle, so it's been well worth the few pennies I got it for. Thumbs: UP!
Tetris was one of my favorite games as a kid, and Block Wave is kind of like the 3D version of that. The game is difficult, the controls take a few tries to pick up, but once you have it down, it's a good kind of challenging. Definitely a novel take on the Tetrimino style game since it brings the 3rd dimention into play.
took a chance and, meh... controls are tough. wont be asking for refund but tempted. cool music and looks. no fun when friends tried... too hard.
happy to reccommend if devs:
1 starts a little simpler. maybe less shape types early on
2 controls a tweaked to be more intuitive, easier to control
3 slower drop speed / frequency at start
