DonkeyKwon Games is a one-man indie studio that's creating new features, functionality and the gameplay that players want and need in VR. Here; as my first official game DKG has taken the classic "COD zombie" survival concept and infused it with fully immersive, realistic combat. Breaking the standard VR framework of locking players in a static location, ZombVR allows players to explore areas and move with free motion controls.

To be blunt, the game isn't fun. It didn't seem to be incredibly broken as past reviews have stated. The game *is* playable. It has interesting concepts that could make a good one. I hate to give a negative review, as there are already so many more that came before this one. It's probably a lot more fun in multiplayer, but i couldn't convince any of my friends to download the game to try it out with me. I hope this review is helpful to anyone looking at this game as of the 2020 update.

Zomb VR is a game with a great immersion , the special effects , options , gameplay and possibilities do it is my favorite zombie game now
the options are various and everyone can find his preferences
in zomb vr we are in big arena stage and zombies appears , in the stage of the metro we can enter in train , the door open and close and we can hide us for exemple waiting the zombie arrive and enter in the train to find us, it is like if we are in a real movie of zombie , even in resident evil i have never feel this sensation in vr
the music add an atmosphere and the zombie male voice sound is really nice
but this game has more than this we can find in the level a lot of weapons guns , but too few hands weapons like a katana , a baseball bat or knife of course it would be too easy to have all the weapons but the idea is we have not the possibilty to have all the weapons , a system of points ( money in the game ) is recquired to can buy all our favorites weapons and every time we destroy an evil zombie , we win these points moneys we can see on our watch
and in the stage we can find barrier we need to pay to discover the other parts of the stage ,with others weapons
another incredible idea is the system of IA first , the zombies has slow and have quasi no health and appears little too little but more we win rounds more they have health are quick and appears quickly one moment it become really hard to stay in life and in more there is one boss really great wich appears sometimes and with the same system of IA
there are others modes in more of this main mode , one is the sniper mode , we can use a sniper (with a real great system of shoot )and buy ammos and the others weapons but this time we are on a roof or in a manor and we must destroy the evil zombies before they enter in a zone
there is too two mini games one is the shooting gallery we have different targets in order to see few amazing zombies models as target and do some training even if they can not freely the target move
the second mini game is about zombie send us explosive head i recommand you with the sparks effect enable if the head fall on the ground you must destroy if not the head will explose and it is game over , in this mode we can choose between guns or hand battles weapons , for exemple take two katanas , the head sent by the zombie has different size so it is change the difficulty wich improve more and more
of course some people could find there is a little blur sometimes but the game has a great vr , of course some people could find some models do less worked than others but it stays really nice
and i find it is hard to immagine this awesome game has been released by only 1 person named "DonkeyKwon"
and in more this creator takes care of the game fans answering in the forum and adding contents and updates and do the game more better again
i can only recommend this game because i really enjoy Zomb VR

what a load of rubbish! constamtly flicked to the loading screen and you dont start off with any weapons or money to get a weapon.
Experienced on the Oculus Rift with Touch Controllers
This is NOT a good game. This is supposedly a COD zombies clone. And there's certain things this game does get right. It definitely has the bones to be a good game. But just the overall sloppiness on the part of the dev makes this a bad game. From the clunky UI, to the graphical issues, to the enemy AI, to the bad gun physics & sounds. Nothing feels right; close, as in the ballpark of closeness, but not right.
So let's talk about the good. This is a COD zombies clone that does have some decent variety. It has a waves mode where you have two different areas. You can unlock different parts of each area as you get more money. There's also a sniper mode with two areas as well. And there's a zombie target mode and a snowy cabin horde mode I guess. You can upgrade guns and there's a decent weapon selection (although not enough). There's even some Zombie variety (although also not enough). You can move around almost full locomotion and turn 180 degrees (no smooth turning).
But everything else is awful about this game. There is this video jitteriness present throughout. I have a strong VR stomach so it didn't bother me, but it sure makes the game look even uglier than it is. And if you don't have a strong VR stomach, you'll probably puke from the jitteriness. The game is just poorly optimized. The animations look bad. Zombies just walk straight towards you. The only difficulty is that more come with each wave.
I can't recommend this game. I don't know why any reviewer would recommend this game. Of course, I didn't find anybody online to play with. Good luck if you think you have friends who can play this game with you. You're definitely not finding anybody online playing this turd.
Rate 3.5/10. Nice idea, has some nice bones to a good game, but it's not a good game.
Yes, bugs need sorting out and the gameplay expanding BUT (and this is really important) it has the basis of what many VR users are desperate for: free motion, good graphics and zombies - thank God!!! Got it half price (appropriate at this stage of development) and I'm very happy to follow this one. Keep up the good work.

It's a great game! So far its one of my favorite games to come out of VR and dev keeps going! :)
This game is headed in the right direction. though it still has its bugs once you get used to it you want to play more and more. i will check back after each update just to see how its progressing because i want to play through entire game one day and dont want to ruin it for myself. The game is pretty much there and playable with recent updates and im glad to see im not a foot taller than all the zombies anymore...lol.... now some are taller than me and it makes them all that much more intimidating, guns work great now and i wanted to keep playing but im gonna let this game cook a little longer. keep up the good work devs...
This game is shapeing up quite niceley, definitely worth picking up.
I had à try to this game and just wanted to support thé dev team as it is à small team and it is so much fun to bé able to actually really run wherever you want with a free move control system.
Sure the game is at his early stage but it is playable and I feel the basis is here. ( once again it is not a AAA game).
Dev team are really listening and very present on forum for now.
I really hope it will get the success it deserve and the dev will be able to reach their goals (and ours)
Too laggy for the moment I play with a GTX1080 8GBDDR5X and a I7 6700K at 4.2GHz and i can't get a steady 90 fps and that make it hard and full of headache to play in vr with this little lag. But i love the way the game is build, a lot of stuff is inbound and i'm sure that the game will become more optimized with time. Control are not intuitive too and you need to find yourself out how the control work. But a great game that have a lot of potential and I want to help to make it better.

The highlight reel looks entertaining enough but when it comes down to it, is the game worth 19.,99?
I really do hate to say it, but it was all around, not enjoyable. I'd love to say it's got a good foundation to build on but the game is so rough right now it's hard to tell.

This is not a diamond in the rough EA title. It's very early alpha gameplay.
Controls are not smoothed out and often fail to execute. (Climing, holstering, reloading, etc)
Audio isn't that great. (overall quality)
The positional audio definitely needs more attention. Could not tell where sounds were coming from.
Game balance and difficulty need adjusting and some things need a consistency pass. For example, same zombie model, same weapon, one takes 1 shot to the face and dies, the other takes 4 with no visible difference between zombies.
Reload speed is painfully slow. I could release 2-3 times manually in Onward in the time it takes to load one mag here.
I wouldn't say it's worth the 19.99 or even the current sale price of 17.99. If you're looking for a game to play for fun and entertainment, I'm not sure I'd spend 1/4 that on the current iteration. Which is painful to say because I was really hoping this would be good, as you can tell by the start of the video above.
If you like being a part of an EA community and testing early builds, you may still be interested but I think for most I'd have to not recomend the game.
Hopefully DonkeyKwon can turn this around and I can update this in a few months to a much more positive review. DK was quick to answer my post when I was having issues starting the game and that seems to be consistent across the Discussion boards. He seems passionate about his game and open to suggestions which earns him my respect and I'll be cheering him on and checking in from time to time. I'm genuinely sad giving this a thumbs down.
This game was completely unplayable for me. I started the tutorial. I was not easily able to drop guns, guns would not fire, I could not figure out how to reload, climbing worked 1 out of 100 times I did the suggested motion, and I could not progress in the tutorial. I've played tons of VR so far, and many early access titles, but this was by far the most unfinished. I basically could not do anything.
