Good small game
Much smaller than the sequel (LfB).
Very amateurish in many ways (also kickstarter), but there are good moments. What surprised me the most was that the void doesn't look much worse than in the sequel. You can tell where the budget was put into.
More Kubrick's "Eyes Wide Shut" vibes than in the sequel +++
Often feels Unreal-ish, I enjoyed it more due to engine sentiment but some people do not like that feeling.
Btw: it's always funny when game lacks borderless.
Overall cute. Can buy on 80-90% sale, otherwise I discourage unless you look for this type of setting..
Absolutely terrible
this game is hecking based
Boobies and sex aside, it's not a bad game. Past the Eyes Wide Shut facade, is a great game and story. Big boobs block the way sometimes, though
Bad, But still better then Dustborn.
Nice little movie, didn't know it was a prequel until after the ending which also explains what and why. For getting it on Sale it was okay and it had some spicy horor scenery in it. Protagonist got a bit weird at the end there, but well, in a similar situation I'd probably be screaming so fair enough guy.
Excellent view into the complexities of lasting marriages and the complexity of non-monogamous relationships.
Somewhat religious in design. A delightful heart warmer all the way through.

I got this on sale for 1,49 euro (90% off), and it was a short story worth the price I paid. When not on sale, the game is 14,99 euro, which is MUCH too steep for the 3 hours it takes to complete it.
The game is a prequel to the MUCH better Lust From Beyond, made by the same developer. Lust From Beyond has a MUCH better story, with more variety in gameplay, more interaction with NPCs, and in general a better "experience"... if you know what I'm referring to.... (wink wink).
So if you are interested in this game, you should instead look into getting the sequel, Lust From Beyond, which so far I have 9 hours of playtime in and still haven't finished yet.
So in short, get this game on sale.
terrible. save yourself 2.5 hours and skip this game
buggie and kinda cheesiness
Was kinda expecting some jankyness in the controls, but when the textures looked like they exploded and the roof was missing I tapped out. Story didn't really grab me in the amount of time that I was playing to ignore the hardware issues.
Can keep the money as I appreciate people trying unique things, but this is not a good or polished product.
After Jonathan's hard work to pick up and save his wife who was captured by a cult. In the end, it was his wife who was beyond help due to Willard's influence. Your fate is really unlucky, bro. HAHAHA
A good horror story with plenty of jump scares and a splash of sexy.
Not erotic, not very horrific, and a bit boring.
NAKED LADIES!!
Neither sexy nor scary, Lust for Darkness offers nothing in terms of gameplay or story. The stealth and mask puzzle mechanics were not engaging. I beat the game to the end just to see where any of this was going. My efforts were rewarded with an underbaked and sexist understanding of female sexuality.
Spoilers for the ending, and the issues with the plot overall.
At the end, our main character rescues his wife, Amanda, but she is so 'tainted' by the dark, evil touch of S.E.X that she summons the lustful evils back into the world. I am left with the implication being that our loser protagonist, who only talked of how much he loved her, not how he also wanted her sexually, just couldn't satisfy her enough. We are cucked not by the main villain, but by the writer's juvenile understanding of sex and sexuality. Amanda is distraught over how she enjoyed her sexual experiences in the cult, and then it just ends with the typical 'sex as horror' story that doesn't do anything with the theme. We start the game as Amanda and it's interesting and vulnerable, but then nothing with her or anyone's character actually goes anywhere with theme.
I hope sequel is better, but considering how the developers have engaged with these themes I am not confident.
8/10
Fairly good horror game that gives a solid backstory for the next games.
Lust for Darkness dives headfirst into a realm where eroticism meets horror, blending psychological thrills with sensual experiences. This game isn’t just about the jump scares; it’s a steamy journey into a twisted world that plays on desires and fears, offering a unique take on the survival horror genre.
Gameplay: 7.5/10
Set in a surreal landscape, players explore a mansion that’s as beautiful as it is unsettling. The mechanics blend traditional exploration with puzzles, creating an atmosphere that keeps you on your toes. While the controls can feel a bit clunky at times, the tension of uncovering secrets keeps the adrenaline pumping. Navigating through the dark corridors can lead to some tantalizing encounters—just be prepared for a few unexpected surprises that might make your heart race in more ways than one!
Visuals and Sound: 8/10
Visually, Lust for Darkness is striking. The art direction merges elegance with a haunting aesthetic, showcasing stunning environments that feel both inviting and foreboding. The character designs are evocative, capturing the sensuality that runs throughout the game. The soundtrack adds to the experience, with atmospheric sounds that heighten the tension and draw you deeper into the narrative.
Story and Themes: 8.5/10
The story revolves around a man searching for his missing wife, leading him into a world filled with both desire and dread. The plot intertwines themes of lust, obsession, and the darkness that lies within us all. As you delve deeper, the narrative raises questions about the nature of desire and the lengths we’ll go to satisfy it. The writing is provocative, with moments that will make you blush and reflect on the duality of pleasure and pain.
Final Thoughts: 8/10
Lust for Darkness is a bold exploration of the intersection between desire and horror. It challenges players to confront their own fears while indulging in the seductive elements of its world. While the gameplay has its rough edges, the captivating visuals and intriguing story make it a worthwhile experience for those willing to embrace its naughtier side.
If you’re looking for a game that combines steamy encounters with spine-chilling thrills, Lust for Darkness might just be your guilty pleasure. Dive into its depths, but remember: what lurks in the shadows may be as enticing as it is terrifying!
It's good but mostly serves as a setup to Lust From Beyond, which may have been the intention since the story is so short and the gameplay mechanics are very simple. That being said, the environment is alluring, and the concept is bold and unique, but I would recommend just watching a playthrough or buying it as part of the bundle when there's a sale. But I do suggest getting into the series if you are a fan of Lovecraftian psychological horror.
Lust for Darkness
Erotic Horror Meets Lovecraftian Madness
Lust for Darkness is an unsettling blend of psychological horror, erotic themes, and cosmic dread, creating a unique experience that’s equal parts intriguing and disturbing. While it’s not for everyone, those who enjoy exploring darker and more mature themes in gaming may find this title fascinating.
Story and Premise
The game follows Jonathan Moon, a man searching for his missing wife after receiving a mysterious letter from her. His search leads him to a Victorian mansion, the center of a depraved cult that worships beings from an alternate dimension known as Lusst'ghaa. The story takes you deep into this twisted world, where desires are warped and the boundaries between pleasure and horror become almost indistinguishable.
The narrative is a slow burn, as you gradually uncover the secrets of the cult and the strange beings they revere. The plot's erotic elements are not just window dressing but are central to the lore and the horror that unfolds. The game delves into the darker aspects of human desire, pushing boundaries in a way that might make some uncomfortable while others will appreciate its boldness.
Visuals and Atmosphere
Visually, Lust for Darkness draws heavy inspiration from both H. R. Giger and Zdzislaw Beksinski, crafting environments that feel grotesque, alien, and otherworldly. The dimension of Lusst'ghaa is a nightmarish landscape, filled with pulsating walls and organic structures, evoking a sense of being trapped in a living, breathing organism.
The Victorian mansion, by contrast, exudes gothic charm but hides an undercurrent of perversion and occultism. The game does an excellent job of creating tension through its visuals and sound design, immersing players in a world that feels both exotic and terrifying.
Gameplay and Mechanics
Lust for Darkness is primarily a first-person exploration game with light puzzle-solving elements. Much of the gameplay revolves around finding objects, solving environmental puzzles, and uncovering the dark secrets hidden within the mansion and the alternate dimension.
There is some stealth involved as well, as you must avoid cult members or otherworldly creatures that want you dead. However, the stealth mechanics are quite basic, and the enemy AI isn’t particularly challenging, which makes these sections feel more like a formality than an intense part of the experience.
The game’s puzzles are fairly straightforward, usually requiring players to find key items or manipulate objects in their environment. While they serve the narrative well, the puzzles aren’t particularly complex, which may be a drawback for players seeking more in-depth challenges.
Themes and Tone
Lust for Darkness boldly incorporates eroticism into its horror, but it’s far from gratuitous. The sexual themes are integral to the story and the world it creates, though they may be uncomfortable for some players. There are scenes of nudity, sexual rituals, and disturbing depictions of desire turned monstrous, but these are presented more as elements of cosmic horror than as titillation. It’s a unique approach to horror that stands out in the genre, though it’s certainly not for the faint-hearted.
Final Thoughts
Lust for Darkness is an intriguing mix of erotic horror and Lovecraftian influences. It’s not without its flaws, such as some underwhelming stealth mechanics and simplistic puzzles, but the game’s atmosphere and world-building are its strengths. If you’re looking for a game that isn’t afraid to push boundaries and explore mature, disturbing themes, Lust for Darkness offers a unique and haunting experience.

Its okay. Relatively simple but working story, okay puzzles and sometimes nicely spooky. Lovecraftian influence is heavily visible and the areas with soundtrack are really nice. Boss fight is stupid. Solid game for grabbing a few relatively easy achievements. 6/10
THIS GAME A LITTLE TO SLOW . My computer actually good . to hard to get to next scene and been stuck for 3 hrs . so i just and quitted . stuck at level from beginning room
Expectations: Come for the sex dungeon
Reality : Getting chased by the demons of hell
Ending : Cuckolded
It's not a bad game, really... Just don't expect a happy ending from this game.
It became boring mid way through. Very dependent on sexuality to make the story more interesting, doesn't hit the mark.
Great game, yeah some people complain about keyboard only, but you can use Steam to map out a controller as a keyboard. I use an Xbox One controller without any issues, Hopefully they get around to a 3rd instalment.
Great concept but kinda gets dull and boring later on.... :-(
