Meet the Crew
The five time travelling scientists known collectively as the Helmholtz Resonators are an odd bunch. They can each play the bass, guitar, drums and keyboards, conduct science, and travel through time, yet they are each prone to personality flaws. Let me explain:
Garland
Taking the title of Head Chorister, Garland assumes command of top-line vocals most of the time with some notable exceptions. This maybe because he likes to be his own biggest critic, only to then give himself glowing reviews. Garland is a stickler for tidiness, in fact, his motto is "PUT THAT BACK WHERE IT BELONGS!"
Vandamme
The most mysterious and adventurous Resonator. Plays just about any musical instrument and understands any scientific advice. Take charge of capturing the audio signal generated by the group to whichever format is prevalent to the era in which they find themselves.
Carlton
No one has every been able to pin down exactly what Carlton does. Obsesses over finding a link between science and mysticism but only ever seems to be proving a link between alcohol and bad decisions. Plays guitar, synthesizers and supplies baritone vocals. Prefers to do anything but actual, tangible work, proclaims he was born with a rare disease called 'Cannotbearseditus'.
Frithel
If Frithel could change every choice to include the suffix 'or science?' he would always choose the latter. This man is obsessed with science - he lives, breathes, digests and inserts science. He carasses, high fives and smooches science, he... okay you get the picture. Also plays Drums, loves the Bee Gees and spoken word poetry... in a sciencey kind of way.
Auto
Auto is short for Automaton, and is the groups robotic aid and protector. Over time he has developed a fondness for Carlton, due to the time that Mr. Breezy has invested in playing with Auto. From darts, to movies, to arcade machines and to the definite chagrin of the other chaps, as this reduces the time that Auto could be tidying, computing and generally busying himself around the ship in a non-creepy android going-to-kill-all-humans way.
Chladni
Chladni is in charge of sub 400hz vibrations and is a celebrated player of the Low Frequency Guitar. His motto is "Nimble of finger - nimble of mind!". Plus, he can't keep his mind off the ladies and sees himself as some sort of lothario, of which his motto is also "Nimble of finger - nimble of mind!".

I wish I could give the game a neutral review, with a very slight tendency toward positive.
This seems to be a game designed to play together with your little ones.
If you don't have children, I guess it is perfectly serviceable as a quick, basic adventure for those who find themselves absolutely starved for a P&C game. If you're curious about it yourself, I recommend getting this on sale.
Let's get my major gripes with the game out of the way first:
-While I personally think the visual style is unappealing (like an old flash game), it does have enough detail and charm to not be completely hideous. You'll come across plenty of problems with the layering of characters and environmental objects, which will break what little immersion there is to begin with.
-The characters are not deep or all that interesting (with one particularly weird exception), but distinguishable enough to remember. Most of them not by name though, I just finished the game and can't recall any of the names of the main cast. I simply had no reason to care.
-The puzzles are of standard P&C flavor, use items on things in your environment, occasionally combine them in your inventory and progress through some dialogue to trigger events. The latter aspect could use a LOT of work though:
Don't expect any bizarre and brilliantly written dialogues akin to the majority of Monkey Island games, what you have to deal with here is very basic and has humor which can either be described as childish or mind-numbingly dull.
-Speaking of dialogues, whenever a character has to say more than one line, there's a noticeable delay between the sentences being delivered. I imagine this may be by design, so very young children don't have to process all of it at once, but to me it simply seemed like a "crap factor" I had to adjust to. Made me accidentally skip lines, because I thought they were done talking and I wanted to continue exploring.
-While the game has a feature to point out interactables in a scene, it doesn't always work really well, because some of them are obscured by foreground objects and the player has to move to the corner of the screen to properly see them.
-I feel like there's so much wasted potential. I mean, your main cast consists of time-travelling scientists, who also happen to be a rock band! That premise alone opens up so many crazy and imaginative opportunities, but it doesn't really go anywhere meaningful.
With all these issues being present, what's there to redeem the game?
-This feels like a rather personal project. It felt to me like it gave an insight into the things the devs were personally fond of and the characters might be superficially based on themselves or people they know. I think it's kinda nice to get a little glimpse of that. Shout-out to the reference to the British claymation series The Trapdoor! Good stuff! c:
-It is mostly "family friendly" (but since the writing is quite sloppy, I wouldn't let a very young child play it alone, there are a handful of questionable aspects to it).
-While I played the majority of the game completely stone-faced, there are a small number of actually smart jokes.
-It feels, naturally, very British, which I did find quite enjoyable. Especially the aspect of rock band traveling in a submarine. We all know what this is a reference to! c:
-The devs seem to genuinely care about their game. Even now, many years after it's release, issues posted on the steam forums get addressed immediately! I was unable to finish the game due to a bug, I reported it and two days later the game received an update! Fantastic service!
-While it first seemed that the villain of the story was merely a one-dimensional afterthought, the ending changed that completely. In hindsight, the ending is pretty dark and twisted, which came as an amazing surprise, contrasting the overall flatness of the story. Not only does this open up the opportunity to have a somewhat philosophical discussion, but also the possibility to do so much more with the sequel, should there ever be one! Work on your writing, wait a few years until your current intended audience has matured a little and turn this into a heart-wrenching story coupled with some grey morality, but plenty of "more mature" jokes! Again, so much potential!
While I can't see myself ever playing this game again, it made me curious about the studio's next project, just to see where they improved.
I enjoyed this game it was full of adorable characters and so many places and adventures. Do not let the cuteness fool you. I found this fun but also challenging. Go enjoy yourselfs.
Funny how good the voice acting is despite how unsightly this game looked (and my standards are low! I am usually not fazed by mid 2000s flash game looking doodoo graphics). There are also some odd obscure puzzle solutions sure but what sent me over the edge is how buggy it is! Game stopped mid-cutscene and I couldn't proceed! Audio sometimes get chopped, losing immersion. I am no longer interested in finishing this
fum game! I loved the art and silliness lol. Puzzles were a bit on the tough side but still enjoyable.
Nice and a little weird adventure about friends, who help another friend out of his misery with a witch. Characters are special, we have even a robot, who belongs to the party. After Vandamme ran into a trap, when he tried to free children from their imprisonment at the local witch, the friends are about to help him. All not easy, as one of the tasks is: bring them all together ...
Many comical notions, had to laugh often ! For those, who like arcade minigames, there are some, not obligatory, but you may have that little fun in between. All in all, it is not a too difficult game, bit rather entertaining !

The game was very well put together, with some good puzzles, nice retro references (without beating the player over the head with those), and was fun overall. All that up to a certain point, where things kinda went south. Towards the end, everything felt rushed, and puzzles stopped making sense. However, that was a short part, and although it soured the taste a bit, it's safe to say that the game was pretty enjoyable in its whole.
A bit too buggy for a general recommendation.
Also dialog doesn't adapt to progress: If you do things in another order than the creators intended, it will sometimes say stuff that hasn't happened yet, or ignore stuff that's already happened.
And it's annoyingly unclear most of the time what is just decoration you can play around with, and what you actually need to spend time with to progress.
Like in most adventure games, if there's not enough subtle hints and good dialogue to make the player aware of the next necessary step to take, it too often comes down to haphazardly trying everything in the inventory.
The in-game storyline is OK, and mostly enjoyable to play. Some of the puzzles like the rope duel and the dream sequence are great new ideas and really well done!
But if I'm given a crew of five, I would have much more enjoyed to make use of their special capabilities, instead of making the whole game basically about tricking them to come along at all, and then having them hang about uselessly.
Also, the background lore is utter rubbish. Allegedly those guys are some sort of famous rock band? But nobody seems to recognize them. But their logo is senselessly plastered everwhere. But it actually is a symbol for time travel. And none of the alleged musicians ever makes any useful sound at all...
And I won't even criticize the lame old time-loop meme. That's just par for the course, and kind of expected at this level of storytelling quality.
This game is lovely! It has very charming characters and a perfect degree of difficulty!
Love this game! I think the puzzles are the right amount of "seek and find" as well as "think" type of puzzles. I enjoy the point and click puzzle games and this is one of my favorites so far.
Absolutely Fantastic and Fun Game. Controls we're spot on and the sounds and effects make it so Enjoyable. Throw some sarcasm in a little here some over There and You have This Great Game!!
Didnt get to complete the game!
There is a bug where you cannot scroll up and down to combine inventory items so end up basically stuck. For such a well thought out game I was really shocked and disapointed that I couldn't finish it.
Not overly long, but good enough to keep me interested through a boring sunday. Lots of retro gags as you would expect from Ron Gilbert (ask me about LOOM) and this genre. A few glitches such as in the letter sequence, but some nice vocal work, silliness and adventuring fun.
Think I reached for the walkthru about 6 times?
Worth it for what I paid (although I would still like to play DOTT again if someone will recompile it in 64bit :P
Nice art style, decent voice acting and very silly British humor, but, the story line is only passable and the game play and puzzles are not very interesting or challenging. Overall, I still recommend it, but I'm a bit disappointed.
Quirky and fun. Had to look up a few of the puzzles if I'm being honest, but still had a great time.
I was somewhat skeptical of this game when I purchased it. It was very cheap, but looked interesting. It was a little corny, but hey, it was a fun game to play. I was pleasantly surprised. I absolutely love the Brit accents, really makes the game fun. Puzzles were great and enjoyed solving them. Really, a nice game overall.
It runs well and looks good, but the game play wasn't great. I recommend this game only if you are really, really, really into basic point n click adventure stories. It had a couple humorous moments, but was otherwise boring. I think I was just disappointed because I enjoyed the demo and the game wasn't what I expected. I assumed there would be additional mini-games and puzzles (non-inventory), but there weren't. The only mini-game, not included in the demo, was just a pixelated version of the game included in the demo. The majority of the puzzles were fetch quests, conversation based, or inventory based. Thankfully, there weren't many ridiculous item combinations needed. It only took a few hours to complete the game, but I was glad when it was over.
Nice point and click adventure. Atmosphere draws you in and the puzzles are fairly logical. British humour, very nice audio, with extra care done to the voicelines. Polished graphics and the backgrounds have got a lot of attention.

Being a huge fan of point and click adventures such as Monkey island and Simon the sorcerer I loved The Mystery Of Woolley Mountain. With its hilarious characters and great British humour this is up there with the best of them. It has a good storyline, puzzles and brilliant retro references. I hope there's a sequel.
If you are a fan of good old fashioned point and click, inventory-based adventure games, this is really one for you. It is funny, well written and has excellent graphics and voice acting. The puzzles are challenging, but not too difficult and well integrated in the story, as they should be in a true adventure game.
With all those walking simulators around, they dont make many games in this genre anymore. I think it is importent that we support developers, who still make games like this one.
I think this game shot itself in the foot by consistently comparing itself to Monkey island. While visuals are similar, I really did not get the same feeling as from Monkey Island so I was kind of disappointed. Jokes in Monkey Island edge on the absurd while these are just silly and childish. It felt like the game was taking down to me and treated me like an idiot. Maybe if I didn't start the game with this expectation I would have been able to enjoy it...
