first time trying this guilty gear series,and i'm really impres with the game mechanic.
i don't really play fighting game that much but i play some of them,but this game make me so excited and make me want to play more of fighting game,the combo is so satisfying,each character has a different combo,especially in their ultimate and special moves.the only negative side is that is very hard to find opponents in online mode,which make sense because the players have moved to new game[guilty gear strive].but yeah is really GREAT GAME!!!

Love it. Never got a satisfactory win against my broski, but I still dig it. Mechanics are easily comprehendible, good game for people who want to transition from 3d to 2d fighting games

Dusted off the arcade stick, ran through the excellent tutorial, had some fun in arcade mode... and then hit the online wall.
There’s just no one there — empty lobbies, no ranked matches, nothing.

The game looks fantastic, feels great to play, and has some real depth, but if you're hoping to fight real people, you're better off looking elsewhere.

if you havent already devoted hundreds of hours into guilty gear games that arent Strive, genuinely do not bother. Everyone still playing this game in the current year is beyond sweaty and hasn't seen a job application since accent core+ came out. Just stick to Strive if it's the only one you've played. Learning to be good at this game is entirely more trouble than it's worth. The game is NOT bad, quite good even! But unless you have any plans with this game other than busting it out with friends, there is genuinely nothing here but hours of work to put in before it starts being fun with other people

This is what I consider a nice middle ground between the Blazblue and Guilty Gear series. The characters in the roster have so much flare in both the stylized appearance as well as their toolkit. As for Arc System Works first attempt in combining sprite action flows and retaining that sense of flow while evolving Guilty Gear to 2.5D hand drawn character models that resemble anime, this is a very impressive accomplishment. The main attraction for me is the level of creativity shown all throughout this game as well as the trademark Instant Kills. (Please Arc Sys bring this back). Every character feels unique both in the aesthetics as well as character specific mechanics, which is something I heavily miss, but after experiencing Blazblue, I can see why that might be daunting. Speaking of Blazblue, which focuses more on combo game and with each character being extremely unique with mechanics that have not been properly balanced accordingly, resulting in characters being able to force the opponent's character in a 20 sec window of being unable to tech while the damage piles up. This combined with zero i-frames while on the ground leads to infuriating moments. Guilty Gear Xrd Rev 2 on the other hand, focuses more on universal mechanics emphasizing more on the Neutral game, yet doesn't sacrifice on players being able to form combos based on each character's toolkit. In essence this game places a more concrete understanding in the fundamentals of the universal system and places the combo learning for later, which is not something I can say about Blazblue for the reasons listed above. Overall, I would consider giving this game a try, it's a bit harder than Strive, but there are enjoyable moments that you won't get based on Strive's design philosophy, but you get that experience here. On a closing note, I also want to preference here that the games that I mentioned here being Blazblue and Strive are not bad games and I totally think that they are worth looking into, but based on my experience with both titles, this is my personal opinion.

buy the deluxe edition for the best value. it's a high quality fighting game from arc system works. also add in english dubs to all your games please!

Muito bom o jogo, para quem curte jogo de luta decente esse aqui é o certo, todos os boneco tem suas maluquices, OST é mídia pra quem é du rock. O único ponto negativo é o fato do Testament não fazer parte do cast, esse definitivamente é o maior crime do jogo, de resto é balla y balla.

Model design is far better than STRIVE, and it's way less micro-transaction oriented

Excellent fighting game. A little bit rough to learn but very fun when you can do the right things.

My favorite fighting game of all time! Looks good, feels awesome to play, many defensive and offensive options with unique characters. More fighting games should employ this music style as well. If anime fighting games are your thing, get it!

The rollback netcode is fantastic. I started this account just to buy this game (I’ve been playing on PS4 for years now, wanted to make the rollback jump, and this did not disappoint. Cannot recommend more

I adore this franchise and i'm so excited when i get my hands on "STRIVE".
But until then, i'm gonna enjoy this masterpiece :)

Threads the needle in between complex enough systems and reliably being able to perform a gameplan

very fun, i like the playing style and its really easy to learn. theres quite a few modes and the story is interesting. would recommend :)

I suck at fighting games, and I'm too scared to play online, but boy do I love solo beating up easy bots and pretending I'm good. 11/10

Overall, an absolute delight of the fighting game genre, even after the release of the next instalment in the series (Strive), as indicated by the community being quite active in player matches even past 2025.

This game is very fun with beautiful art and animation and fixes some issues I had with XX!
