Carrying on the legacy from 1998, comes the next addition to the "Guilty Gear" series! All visuals have been tweaked to the finest detail and hand-polished by the animation masters to produce the top quality hand-drawn anime effect! Totally unique cast of 25 characters!
In "REVELATOR" we have 6 new characters from the previous of the series, namely "Johnny", "Jack-O'", "Kuradoberi Jam", "Kum Haehyun", "Raven" and "Dizzy". Followed by an upgrade to "REV 2", featuring 2 more new characters "Baiken" and "Answer", coming to a total of 25 characters!
Extensive Game Modes
Beginners can feel at ease with our step-by-step training program, from Tutorial Mode being remodified into an action game to learn the ropes, to the introduction of Stylish Mode that allows easy inputs for Special Attacks, and many more! You can also visit the in-game FAQ to find out answers to popular questions on how to get strong!For players who already somewhat know their bearings in Fighting Games, we have the COMBO mode to teach all characters' worth of their combo potentials, and the MISSION mode to teach about the characters' general tactics and techniques. There's also the staple "TRAINING" mode, equipped with tons of features that allow you to recreate the situation of your choice, so as to allow you to train and research!
The well-received STORY mode is now back with more punch! Fully cinematic with the 3D graphics engine, explore the lore and find out.. the REVELATIONS of "Guilty Gear". There's also a short introduction to the past series at the start of the story mode, so players new to the series need not fret!
ONLINE Mode
Place your personal ranking score on the stake and battle with other players in "Rank Match", or simply enjoy the new "Player Match" mode without any frets!In "Player Match" mode, you can walk around with your own customizable avatars and communicate with other players in the 3D room environment.
You can also place an entry in the "Rank Match" and proceed to play other offline game modes such as TRAINING mode, while waiting for your entry to be paired up.
The replays stored from your matches do not only show the match as-is, but you can also view both you and your opponent's key inputs, and you can change the camera angle to view the battle from a different perspective!

HEAVEN OR HELL. LET'S ROCK
Guilty Gear Xrd... rev 2 is the last guilty gear game of it's kind. The last Guilty Gear with blazing speed, finger breaking execution and the glory that is the tension mechanic at it's full might
Every inch of this game has been coated with a nigh perfect sheen of attitude. From it's relentless metal OST to sharp, angular character designs, a chain and flame ridden UI and characters which all have unique ways of telling you to go fuck yourself. This game is not forgiving. It demands your full attention with every single one of it's elements, from the combos, to the neutral, to even whatever is going on in the story. Xrd isn't a pick up and play game, but if you're willing to sit with it and give it the attention it demands there is something beautiful waiting for you under all of the bullshit.

Fighting games are difficult to review. They’re not curated experiences; your character choices, your opponents, and your pre-existing knowledge will all have a big impact on your time with any particular fighting game. I’m giving this game a thumbs-up for its excellent rollback netcode and the good times I shared with my friends, but I’ve run into a few sticking points while learning and playing Xrd that seem to be inherent to the game:
- Many genre-standard functions have misleading animations that look like something else entirely (e.g. Sol’s anti-air 6P is a lower-body gut punch that doesn’t aim upward, Millia’s universal overhead hits from below the ground and looks like a low, swords often have a hurtbox on them that can be attacked)
- Basic combos are long and often contain multiple tight links, making them unusually tough to perform
- The input buffer is inconsistent (e.g. hold-buffered movement inputs don’t apply to jump canceling, some special attack inputs overlap with the inputs for other actions like Faultless Defense)
- I don’t like the music
I’ve personally had more enriching experiences with other fighting games, so I’d recommend them instead of Xrd if you’re just looking for something new to sink your teeth into.
This game has got it all. Music, gameplay, characters and most importantly it's FUN!! If your planning to buy, it's worth your money and time.

Got this for something new after playing 30h of Strive and waiting for Season 4. Very fun to see the older versions of characters and new ones that didn't get added to Strive yet. Sad that this game doesn't come with an English dub though. I found a mod that uses the English dub from Xrd SIGN's characters that works, but for the new characters its still in Japanese. Also don't hope to have Online be active here, none of the servers in my country had a single soul in a lobby. Overall though, It's really fun and Local Play is still amazing with friends!
Also the Jack-O win screen tho😮
This is literally PEAK Guilty Gear, I'd pick Rev2 over Strive almost any day. There's so many more Alt colors in this game then strive (which seems like a small thing but all the Alts are awsome so)
I love this game's roster too, I miss Jam but most importantly.. BRING BACK HAEHYUN YOU COWARDS SHE'S THE BEST
It really does pain me to see that this game has almost no modding comminuty but at least there is still people who play it every now and then. Theres still a LOT to be said about this game but im not the best at explaining it so if you have any intrest in this game I heavly recomend you look at a review on youtube

Final version of the GG:XR series. Rev 2 deserves all of it's flowers.
IMO it is one of the best balanced yet still interesting, games of it's genre.
This is like +r but slightly worse but leagues better than str*ve
I automatically disconnect from any online match because no one in Australia is still playing Rev 2 (they've all moved onto Strive)

Guilty Gear Xrd Rev 2 is the 15th installment in the Guilty Gear franchise (not counting spin-offs), somehow.
Guilty Gear Xrd REV 2 is funny, is a excellent fighting game, fun and very visually beautiful!

Better than Strive, don't got legacy characters DLC Locked even at this discount, and an actual good roster & UI. Gameplay is more addicting. Love Faust better in this game.

The middle ground between Plus R and Strive if you liked either game you'll probably like this one. It's not super accessible like strive but it's really not that hard either. Everything feels and looks good, soundtrack is amazing. It has rollback too and the online scene is still decently active, might want to join the discord for it though. Overall I think it's an amazing package and my personal favorite guilty gear.
We talk about 'survival of the fittest' a lot but all that really means is the skilled live and the unskilled die. Since you're clearly in that second group, maybe pick your fights a bit more carefully? Do you understand what I'm saying? It's never going to matter how much you 'want it' when you're up against someone who can kill you with a sneeze.
To whoever may find this review\game interesting in the year 202X i should preface with one sentence

And now, for the rest of the "review".
I love this game, with the short amount of time that i got to spend with it, its crazy good. Unfortunately, as much as i want to just sink (in the piss) this game for hours on end, the issue with this game just outright not working on some pc's that should be compatible, is still here and still not fixed. It's the same one that most people talk about in steam community: the game not launching through .bat file and then not starting with a message "-SEEKFREELOADINGPCCONSOLE -NOHOMEDIR -NOSPLASH -LANGUAGE=INT". Then, when you go through with the messages shown, the game won't start, with some black window flashing. This is a problem that some people, including me, still have to this day.
I know this is not a proper channel to address this issue, but all the other ones have dried up.
You can use this as a warning before buying this game, or as my reccomendation to actually go and play it.
I had an opportunity to play it at another pc but on my steam profile, and it was absolutely amazing. I hope this issue will be resolved in the future and i hope to actually get some help on this one :(

If you're willing to deal with sparse player counts and a somewhat painful skill curve, what awaits you is one of the most deep, complex, wonderful fighting games to exist. Strive aint got nothing on xrd.

An Upgraded and final version of Guilty Gear Xrd
Featuring larger cast and a new story mode but unfortunately only in Japanese dub but that's ok
I can still understand what they are saying thank to the subtitle
There are a couple of change from Sign but for the most part if you know a combo in Sign, you can do that combo in Rev2
The soundtrack are banger
Thank to Daisuke Ishiwatari(the guy of Guilty Gear just like Ed Boon for MK or Harada for Tekken)
The online feature rollback netcode which is just a very must have feature of any fighting game
The controller support work well but the UI could be improve
The gameplay is just perfect thank to the generous yellow roman cancel mechanic that allow some crazy mix up and okizeme
The bonus content are kinda lacking to be honest
There's no costume only alternate color but that's ok
Other than that small complain

Out of nowhere I keep getting SEEKFREELOADINGPCCONSOLE -NOHOMEDIR -NOSPLASH -LANGUAGE=INT error and can't run the game anymore.
