this game is pure fun. you've got a whole assortment of playstyles that all have a varying level of immersion to them, even with the simplistic graphical styles.
Yeah, the generated quests do fall into like 5 or so categories, but the fun of navigating these quests with an insane amount of character differentiation is where it absolutely rules.
My personal favorite class is Zombie, seeing an experience that itches that nostalgia I have for Stubb's The Zombie.
It's a great little comfy project, and I'm excited for the sequel!
Very fun beat 'em up roguelike game. It has a lot of variety in characters you can play, items, strategies to win, and difficulties to overcome. I really enjoyed playing it on my steamdeck and thought it was a perfect game to pick up and put down while traveling.
I am one of the few people who just does not find this game to be much fun i guess. I am not sure I see the fun of this game it is very repetitive and super basic just the same objectives over and over feels like a goofy unpolished Hotline Miami.
Very fun, destructive top down game with loads of replayability and content
A ton of fun - great on the Steam Deck, the only issue I noticed is that you need to use the mouse to start a game - but once in the base or ingame it plays flawlessly.

For those wondering what Streets of Rogue 2 is about, this is the game that's based on.
I have no idea how it took me so long to praise this game but it's really good, really fun, and it deserves to be played more even now. Probably the first roguelite game I've ever beaten.
Your ultimate goal is to get to the top of the city where the Mayor's penthouse is and take their hat. But there are many ways to accomplish your goals, be it the missions on each floor, character missions, and how you'll win when you reach the top.
There is a lot of freedom of expression for how the player can interact with this world. As a wrestler you can throw refrigerators and freeze your enemies, as a hacker you can make them run and break through the walls, and if you're anyone else you can just steal food out of them to heal yourself if you're in a pinch as long as you don't get caught by the owners and beaten up over it.
All of these things are why I anticipate Streets of Rogue 2 so strongly. I'll let you know if it's good when it releases. :)

Вариантов действий столько, что иногда просто залипаешь на выборе стиля прохождения. А если еще в коопе с друзьями — полный хаос и ржач! Кто-то взрывает стены, другой заражает всех зомби-вирусом, третий втихую обчищает карманы NPC.
Каждый заход — новая история, новые мемные моменты и угар. Игра будто специально сделана для тех, кто хочет просто весело и безбашенно провести время. Реально кайфую от нее, врубайте и погнали устраивать беспредел!
One of my all time favorite games. There's so much freedom and wacky fun you can have with all the characters. My favorite is the Alien. Had this game on switch but bought it again so I can play on my steam deck. Absolutely amazing gem of a game. Would recommend to all.

Enjoyable top down roguelike that has multiple ways to completing objectives to suit different playstyle and characters! It is also fun to mess around with different characters and strategies in this game!
Very entertaining sandbox game. If you are anything like me, you will spend hours trying to neutralize everyone on a floor, only to die to your own hubris as you accidentally take cyanide because you can't manage your inventory properly and accidentally took drugs.

From start screen on, its hard not to feel joy.
Fanstastic, and full of replayability. I have been playing roguelikes for like 10 years. This is one of the memorable ones.
I have played way too much of this game. It is amazing.
Oh how I love this game! I originally played this years ago when the alphas were on their website before the game hit early access! My friend would come over and we'd play 2-player for HOURS! There is so much to this game, my biggest draw is some of the inspiration being Deus Ex which at the time was my obsession! Stealth mechanics with tons of fun weapons and weirdo gadgets that allow you to sneak around enemies, turn them againest each other, or make them become your ally! There are HOURS of fun to be had here!!!

20 hours of giggling and mayhem for this price tag is money well spent. Really enjoyable little arcade RPG that combines lots of cool modern gaming mechanics with a surprisingly deep retro post-apocalyptic setting that has its own complex social caste. The vibes and soundtrack are absolutely immaculate but really the most awe inspiring work of art in this game is the procedural level generator, it's just a love letter in the form of 2D pixel graphics that completely and effortlessly immerses you and is meaningfully different every time you play. You can complete challenges in order to start your run as different social caste members (cop, gang member, industrial worker, cannibal, vampire, you name it) as well as unlock different modifiers and handicaps. THE GAME IS REALLY FUN SO IF IT LOOKS COOL I RECOMMEND YOU BUY IT OK THANKS BYE

This is super fun. A spiritual successor to Shadowrun for the Sega Genesis lol. I have had a ton of fun playing co op with my kiddo.

after i have 100%ed this game, i can say this is the game of all time, its really fun and cool :3
This game absolutely rocks. One of the few games I have bothered to 100% because of how much fun the gameplay loop is. Tons of unlocks, hilarious dialogue and interactions, roguelite meta progression and unlock system, along with each character feeling (mostly) distinct from one another and you've got yourself a recipe for your next "one more run" game.
You can also customize the experience to make it as easy or hard as you want, all while still allowing for unlocks and meta progression. In addition to all of this QoL stuff, you get to play this game with your friends online and double the chaos.
The trailer doesn't do this game enough justice. Do yourself a favor and grab this one, especially if it's on sale.

It's a fun game with lots of options available for playing. Want to be a murderous psychopath? Grab your knife! Want to convince other people to do the work for you and watch people kill each other? Just crack one open and lean back. I 100%ed the first one in preparation for the sequel and I can't wait
Nothing is more fun than playing the werewolf build I created that makes tons of XP, and also gradually levels up stats. By the end Im like level 16 with pretty much all the melee perks, strength bands, sugars, and gigantic pills. I just pop the sugar and the gigantic pill, turn werewolf, and just DECIMATE the mayor district. Its funny, I got the bad ending this way too. Was going bonkers, didnt realize I had killed the mayor, and accidentally punched the hat down the edge of the map.
Really fun action packed 2D game, but when you finish game it gets kind of boring after (repetitive)

I must admit I was never a fan of action or rogue-like games. Shooting and punching around were never my cup of tea. Heading into ever changing environment was also not my fort. But man did this game surprised me. I actually bought this game because of the graphics (yeah that sounds kind dumb coz game is for you to play not for you to look at). But whatever the reason, I got hooked after playing it. It was so stress-relieving punching everything around me. And all the different characters with different traits and abilities, all the different gimmicks, all the different regions with different enemies, they all combined to make a fantastic playground for me. Also, the ending song and dance gave me quite a laugh. It was a nice finish to a well-made game. I saw the dev was making a sequel. I wonder what more you can add to make an even better game. I hope the dev will surprise us with their ideas.
I love the freedom you get in how you complete your quests and interact with the world. It has so much replayability value and I can't wait for the sequel
One of the most interesting and unique rogue-likes I've ever played. You can find a way out of (almost) any situation, as long as you are creative enough. Highly recommended to bring a few friends for this, though playing alone is perfectly fine (and probably the more balanced way to play)

Game is fun, a rogue lite with enough im-sim elements for the Deus Ex toilet joke to feel deserved tough I do feel like some of the character quests are too unbalanced.
Overall an excellent game you won't regret sinking dozens of hours into.

Finished this on the Switch and bought it years after when my friend got interested in playing it. Still love it to this day! There's a lot of freedom in what you can do and you can tackle a lot of quests/side quests in multiple different ways. Each character feels unique with all the different big quests (basically character specific quests) you can do. I can't wait for Streets of Rogue 2 to come out for even more of the game I love
It's just plain fun, there's not much else to say. If you like roguelikes and you play them for run to run variety and the wacky things you can do this game is for you.
Just a good little game, nice n cheap and requires the use of your noodle. Good value.
its great mindless fun with others, and it can get pretty hectic with chain reactions and random events, great every now and then but definitley not a game you can play more than a 2-3 runs at a time without getting bored/burnt out, that being said its still a great game and i'd full heartedly recommend it, i have platinumed this game on playstation and 100% it here on steam so i'd say i got my worth out of the game both times

It's goofy fun for about an hour. Wouldn't recommend spending more than 5 bucks on it.
