I remember playing this when I was young. Now, I see that you can pause this game in the settings so your people don’t age when you’re somewhere etc. I usually unpause and make it fast so I can see progress quickly when I’m playing. It’s a simple good game. Hopefully, it gets updated like the Facebook one in the past which seems more updated than this one.

I used to play the Facebook version when I was younger, which I enjoyed, but this version functions differently, and from my experience playing, the islanders age *way* too fast while you're gone, and die off very quickly, which I never had trouble with in the other version.
Unfortunately I couldn't refund it because despite not being able to play much at a time, I'd played for 11 hours - the issue of the islanders aging too quickly, even despite being on the "slow" time setting, only became obvious to me after more than Steam's usual allowance of 2 "free" hours playing. In my opinion, a waste of money, a sad twist on my nostalgia and super disappointing.
