Very fun unique puzzle game, and I think the price is well worth it.
That being said...
I HAVE to (without spoilers) warn you about the worst part about this game; the ending. The ending is probably the most unsatisfying, abrupt, and incomplete one I have ever seen. Big Rigs: Over The Road Racing has a more conclusive ending than this game does, and that says something. ARMED AND DELIRIOUS, has a more conclusive ending, and that ending is RIDDLED with dementia level WTFs.
Where the HELL is Act 4?! Or the sequel!?
Nope, you get a cliffhanger and a middle finger.
Play this game for the gameplay, but NOT for the story; the ending makes you angry and feeling incomplete.
Visually great and the story has some substance to it. But the controls and movement are annoying. The puzzles are good but sometimes frustrating to restart when you forgot to place a portal.
I enjoyed this game a lot. The puzzle mechanic is interessting and kind of unique (I have seen a similar mechanic in Portal 2 thinking with time machine) It is fun to create copies of yourself to solve the puzzles but there are a few bugs in the game which are mildly annoying. There is one Level in Crystal Highs where I am not shure if it is a bug or not…you have to solve part of the puzzle without the camera focus on your charakter, so you jump around and hope the enemie wont get you…that was frustrating but it was manageable at the end. The only thing that was more then mildly annonying is the fact that you cannot delete your copies withouth restarting the level. So dont do much experimental stuff with the portals or you have a ton of blue shadows running around
The steampunk inspired art and music are great and I liked the charakters and how they grow together. The only thing I really hated about this game is the cliffhangar at the end, knowing there wont be second one because if they wanted to do one it would be here by now. I couldnt find any information about a second part so I guess its our imagination that has to write the rest of it which is really a shame because I would love to play a part 2
The lack of checkpoints makes this title extremely repetitive.
Especially with such design of the levels: One wrong jump, one slow turn, and you'll have to run around to ascertain that you are, in fact, softlocked, progression impossible without even a shortcut to your death, then restart the entire thing. Oh, and believe you me, you'll miss jumps with those unresponsive controls.
While the platforming is quite boring, I'm still waiting for a puzzle that requires thinking. The good looks are not enough of an incentive for me to continue playing.
As usual, you can't expect much from a dev that displays their texts character by character.
Why does this exist?
The controls are janky & uncomfortable, the puzzles are short, the story has some holes in it already(I've only played this game for,like,half an hour)and the Art Style doesn't help either.
Speaking of janky controls, the previews show Combat. I'm scared now.
Sure, it's a good story with some original gameplay mechanics, but everything else just weighs it down. Probably why it's, like, 3 Bucks or something. Also, the combination of Futuristic/Industrial is already generic and oversaturated. Not that it isn't a cool concept, but can we please get more of some other themes?
Also, if every machine has a purpose, then why are there just random cogs and smashers chilling out in the background doing seemingly nothing?
Summary: If I gift you this game, It's a joke. Fortunately, it costs about the same as an apple and a half from the local Dollar Store, so if you accidentally buy this game instead of an actual masterpiece of a puzzle game, you can probably recover, even ignoring Steam Refunds.
I loved the art style and the premise to the game. The puzzles were fun and required a little thought in some cases but none were mind bendingly difficult which was enjoyable for me.
That being said, I got stuck on Poisonville 2-02, essentially the 23 level/scene/puzzle. In it, it appears you have to jump a gap to a chain then immediately jump again to a ledge before the chain descends taking you to your untimely death. Unfortunately I could not seem to manage this. Run, jump, jump, fall to death. Run, jump, controller stick to upper right, jump again and die. Tried rocking the controller stick backwards and forwards for moment for the jump. No matter what, I couldn't seem to jump off the chain, only let go and fall at such a direction and velocity that I could not even grab the opposite ledge to continue the puzzle. After 2 nights and about 20 minutes of attempts between the two, I'm going to have to give up on this game.
I still recommend it because as I said above I enjoyed the art, gameplay and puzzle mechanics, but I personally won't be finish it because I can't get past this specific point in the game.
There are bugs and glitches in the game?
Well, try messing with a space-time continuum and expect everything to work fine!
There is one serious issue, though... game doesn't tell what time it is.
Squishy movement/controls. Boring characters. Really disappointing ending. It's too bad, because the time mechanic allowed for some good puzzles. Unfortunately not quite enough polish on this one. Feels like an amateur flash game.
Puzzle game with creative challenges. Just my kind of game. ^_^ <3 A little buggy though. :( I got stuck in a level and tried 3 times, would always get stuck in a different bug.
Pros: It's beautiful; puzzles are good
Cons: super buggy; the ending has a bunch of unanswered questions (so it feels like the story is not complete)
I recommend it with reserves.
There's a decent core gameplay idea here. But it's layered under horrible controls (think "A Boy and His Blob" meets "Prince of Persia"), game-breaking bugs, unnecessarily obnoxious level design, and atrocious dialogue. It's not worth wading through the bad to get to the good in this case.

-Extremely buggy
-Unresponsive controls
-Weak story
-Mediocre animations
I love this game the visual and audio is stunning and the plot is craving but there is one thing wrong. I can't buy the soudtrack.🔊

A puzzle platformer with time travel, similar to Braid, Misadventures of Winterbottom, RePete and a couple of other games.
Pros:
- it has puzzles where you create clones of yourself, press levers etc. If you haven't played any similar games, you will find these puzzles amazing
Cons:
- the game doesn't feel unique. I mean, I have played such stuff for at least a few times already.
- the animations look clunky, and overall the 2D art looks unpolished. I can't say what exactly it is, but it just feels like a low-budget product.
Basically, Misadventures of Winterbottom but without the humor or amazing graphics. It still works, and sure go ahead and get this game if you haven't had enough of time puzzles yet.

It's good. A different gaming experience.
You solve puzzles by being in multiple places at the same time.
You do this by performing step 1, jumping back in time and doing step 2 while your former self does step 1 again.
You can repeat this a maximum number of times depending on the level. Usually 3-5 time clones.
You can release the ghost in your pocketwatch (yes, you read that right) and freeze and unfreeze time while you scout out the scenario.
There are Bosses. Basically elaborate multi-phase chase sequences.
People have complained about clunky movement, but it more about cordinating timing with your time clones than Super-Meat-Boy style acrobatics.
People have also complained about bugs - only one I have seen so far is a rare non-scrolling screen on time-jump. Resetting level fixed it the one time it happened.
The one lame/annoying thing for me is text presented typerwriter fashion with no way to insta-text or skip. (also means no voice acting) It's dialog with the ghost in your pocketwatch. It's boring and stupid. Supposedly some sort of storyline - whatever - it sucks. You can end the dialog on a level by solving it quickly - Incentive :D
I wanted to like this game, but I feel it really needs some polish to be good. Conceptually, the game presents a neat world with a lot of potential for a good and intriguing story, however it's execution leaves something to be desired. As a puzzle-platformer, the movement mechanics are not as solid as they should be, which can lead to frustrating missed jumps and having to restart levels or segments again. The puzzles while the core mechanic are often repetative and sometimes more trial and error than actually intuitive. Because of the trial and error and poor control, the first "boss" was less an exciting experience and more a dull trudge of figuring out what to do and restarting over and over at checkpoints. Other complains are more quality of life issues, such as the loading times, but also by design your character warps back in time to an established checkpoint but if you die by falling into a pit (which will happen) if you are unable to warp back in time the whole level has to be replayed, which can be monotonous since you have to do all the required actions of setting up clones, but then also waiting for those clones to complete their required actions.
TLDR it's a game I wanted to like, but I just can't get behind.
This is a good find. The art is amazing, the gameplay mechanics are very cool and the puzzles are a good challenge, but nothing that will get you stuck.
The main flaws are two:
- The controls are not as responsive as I would like, specially when jumping. The game do not require pixel-perfect jumps, so it's not a big issue.
[*]The level design is not bad, but could use some improvements. On later levels, you don't know what each lever/pressure plate activates, so you have learn via trial and error. The boss stages are not really "boss fights", but rather "boss escapes". I know it's hard to design boss fights for a puzzle plataformer, but even so I think they should have more action.
Each level is very short, which can be annoying at first but later becomes a blessing. The last stages can be very unforgiving so it's not a big deal when you have to to restart from scratch.
Even with those issues, overall it was a great experience, it's very fun to sync all your copies to beat a stage. If you like puzzle plataformers, grab this game whenever you see it on sale.
I've been expecting this game since June 2015. When it came out on Steam on October 2016, I bought it as early as I could.
Story
I highly suggest you to read about the game http://www.clockwork-game.com/. It doesn't take too long to learn about the context and the characters, and it gives a little plus to the game experience.
Characters
You'll encounter a few NPCs, but you'll mainly be helped by 2 characters :
- Milli, which is the "spirit" living within your clock. At first, she's a bit hateable, but I kind of like her character. Her relationship with Atto (aka. your main character) is quite lovely
- Atto. Yeah, you can be helped by yourself in this game.
Gameplay
This game has an interesting and unique system of time-travelling, which is harder to explain than to witness. Let's put it the sequential way :
1) Spawn a portal
2) Do whatever you want (open doors, move boxes, distract a wandering enemy, ...)
3) TimeWarp (you return to the portal position, at the precise moment you spawned it)
4) Watch as a blue "clone" (Milli will call it a displacement) will do exactly what you did when you spawned the portal
It's really helpful, especially when you have to hold a switch to keep a door open, or as a "save" (sometime I spawn a portal in order to save myself of my failures, and it works).
At first I was afraid that the game would get hard too quickly since that time travel system gives many possibilities, but the game's difficulty actually increases smoothly.
Music
The music really suits the game's atmosphere. It's globally calm as you're explorating the world of Clockwork. But in a Boss level (which are fast-paced running away levels in comparison to the other levels), the music will help you understand that you'd better run fast.
Right when I saw this game, I knew I would love it (what can I say, I'm a sucker for these types of games)
The puzzles took me some time but they weren't OVERLY complex, which is good
The artwork is especially amazing and the soundtrack is pretty calming (except during boss battles of course)
The characters are creative and lovable in my opinion
My only issues are that there are still quite a few glitches in the game, but I realize that those are being worked out
The voices are a bit questionable (Atto's in particular??) but I got used to it
And last of all THAT ENDING. PLEASE TELL ME THE FUTURE LEVELS ARE IN THE MAKING? I'm not a fan of cliffhangersssssssssss...... soooo many unanswered questions hnngghh
Anyway, so ya, AMAZING atmosphere, GREAT story, puzzles and characters, and I just, highly recommend this game. For me, it was worth every cent
I just bought this game because I loved games like limbo but I think this one is my current favorite. the story is cool and so are the steampunk style visuals.i play it in 4800x900 so at first I couldn't see the words but the developer sure is quick on tackling bugs the only thing I could find negative is the price haha but even that didn't bother me to much. Definitely a must have if it's on sale
All I can say is that the game has a pretty good foundation. The graphics and soundtrack are great, and the concept itself is pretty innovative. Unfortunately, though, that's the best thing I can say about it. For the entirety of my play session, the controls felt kinda of strange. Navigating the menu didn't even feel right; I guess that should have been my first sign. The dialogue is absolutely grating; characters repeat the same audio over and over, making me eventually lose interest in even the text itself. Perhaps I am being harsh, but what I have played of the puzzles has not impressed me in the slightest. The time bending mechanic, in theory, sounds good, but its execution is less than impressive. It often forces you to wait an extra period of time if it took you a long time to figure it out, and it is painful to go through. If you are the kind of gamer who needs to be grabbed within the first 20 minutes, then don't bother with this one. I would say to go with Limbo or Inside. Also, the loading time for the intro screen takes a bit too long for this kind of game.
