This game is very broken and abandoned. I couldn't get a new world started, maybe the world is created on a server vs locally? It is not even worth the $1.
This is abandonware and really, really unfinished. There is essentially no content, no coherent gameplay loop, no meaningful mechanics, etc. It really feels like it was a teenager's first attempt at creating a game for a marketplace. If it was, then I hope the developer continued to practice, learned from the failures of this project, and has gone on to be successful.
I definitely can't recommend this game to my fellow working class Aun Tumeroks, though. We work hard fighting Olthoi all day and can't be bothered with wasting our limited resources on someone else's broken dream.
Not recommended.
I would say "get it" because its only a dollar, but it's not really even worth it. There's just basically nothing here to have fun with. It's just sort of a waste of $1.
It's an indie game but it's not even close to finished. I appreciated playing it, although it was not fun at all.
I'm not even going to get into the bad game design...
I could see this game becoming big if only it had more content and things were fleshed out better. It's a pretty OK game once you learn the process of how to get new gear and fight. Visuals are nice, simple, and anyone can run it. I'd really like to see more added and see what this game can truly become. Sadly since there's not really much to it, I can't say I'd recommend it to anyone...
the game already is good
but it needs more content
and the people that made this game literally abandoned it
please continue working on it
Steam needs to do a better job of removing abandoned games like this. It's a disgrace that this never to be finished product is still up for ignorant customers to buy, putting more money in valves pockets...
played for eight minutes and all i can say is that im not getting those eight minutes back.
I spawned in a world with absolutely no instructions (thats not the issue, other open worlds do the same)
What caught my eye was whenever I rotated I had a weird glitchy afterimage effect, I was confused thinking I was lagging and lowered the graphics to minimum and it was still there. Tried to play a bit, got to a city where i was suddenly attacked by 5 skeletons out of no where and in my haste noticed the unusable weapons in my backpack. gg game
Trailer isn't representative of whats in the game. Nothing on this page is, its an abandoned game that is kept up for revenue for the old developer. Who has since, I believe more than a year? Decided not to come back to develop this game.
I liked the game, but it doesnt feel fun, it just feels like another survival game where you spawn in and then you do this and then do that in order to survive. I like how they put the adventure aspect together with towns and stuff, but it just felt normal. Maybe in future updates the devs will put something more unique into it, than just get materials, make things, adventure. Just something I thought I would share with people who want to buy this game <3. And good luck to the devs with this game :D.
This game is far from anything resembling finished and I would advise no one buy it at its staggering / perplexing retail price of $13.99. I got Hurricane on sale for about $1 and even at that price I have played many more fleshed-out, functional, and immersive games. This is rudimentary, empty drivel. You spawn into some random zone given no instruction on what to do but see a few scattered houses in the distance. Upon approaching them you might engage in combat vs one of several generic-looking skeleton enemies. Your character moves about clumsily as they swing their melee weapon with little to no feedback on whether or not your hits are actually connecting.
I guess the only positive thing I have to say about this game in its current state is that its visual style could be pretty cool if it were developed more, but I found it to be very plodding, meandering around with not much to do beyond just wander into a house or two, engage in its clunky combat, and exit the game. I will probably refund it.
Terrible gameplay.
Terrible gamepaly
No story
Game is dead
nothing of a RPG. Only different weapons that's it
Not worth.
DO NOT BUY THIS GAME
Cool idea, has potential, but it's unfinished and abandoned.
Normally I hate writing reviews on games no matter what but here I go.
First time I saw this game, It reminded me of Overgrowth. Waited for a sale and bought it for 90% off. I bought the game along with a few other games and forgot to play it. 4 or so months later, the game hadn't received any updates since I bought it. Decided to give it a try.
Checked out the server list, It was empty even thought it was the active hours for europeans. Created my own server, dropped me near a beach with no tutorials or anything that points you towards what is going on or what you're supposed to do. Walked a few minutes towards a town, view distance and grass density really hurts your eyes after few steps, found out there is an inventory and I have an axe and a pickaxe, got closer to town, skeletons, seems like I can take a few of them down, can't seem to attack with left click, apparently you have to draw your tool/weapon first, ended up dying after my first swing because the game doesn't let you move while attacking. Waiting for respawn, awkwardly watching skeletons, for some reason you need to press escape and click respawn to respawn, could have told me that before i waited 30 seconds for a respawn. Chopped some wood, can't move while chopping wood, mined some stone and ores, can't move while mining. Ores seem to generate once per stone pile, so you have to walk for a minute just to get to another ore vein. And you need a lot of ores to get the iron armor.
After wasting about 20 minutes doing this I gave up on this game and decided to not come back until the developer announced he is not dead.
Yes, many of you will think 20 minutes is not enough to judge a game but I do not think I can spend another minute in a game that is really painful to play and completely empty multiplayer game.
Pros:
-Good fps
-Unusual visual style
-Beautiful landscapes and buildings
-DIfferent types of weapons (3 tho)
-Different mobs require different tactics
-Voice chat
Cons:
-Too little crafting
-The map is not too small, but lacks diversity
-No text chat
-No lore
-No plot
-No skills
-No tutorial
-Few enemy types (I've seen 5, excluding PvP. Theres probably more, but not much)
-No base building (unless your base entirely consists of firepits and chests)
-Primitive "survival" element - the hunger is easily filled, the stamina doesnt seem to affect you too much
-Minimum interaction (see those neat shelves, cutlery and furniture at screenshots? well you cant do a thing with em. only chests and corpses can be interacted with)
-Not a single hurricane in 4 hours
TL:DR
Do not buy until 2019. Or at least until it is -90% off.
The game has the potential, but is in no hurry to show it.
Due to the inactivity of the dev and current state of the game I cannot recommend it. If you are interested in game however than you should only keep an eye on it for now.
its not that fun yet, it needs a lot of work still
i like the fact that the graphic are so simpel and i would love to keep it like that
it need some sound fix
need better description of controls
and to be not dead
the biggest problem are that there is no one that are playing it, there where one server and no one playing
This is an amazing game and i cant wait until the full release I have been enjoying this sooo much(despite getting destroyed by the rock boss over and over again)
Not yet....
I purchased this game because the video and photo's made it look VERY promising. The description sounded a bit lofty, but, I decided to give it a go. Now, from what I can tell, this game is VERY early access, so bear in mind that things may change.
Pro's:
Looks Promising
Cons:
-This is a VERY basic game created from the Unreal Engine using the most basic models and scuplting tools. It feels like it has very little to no coding, and feels VERY generic (especially if you're familiar with Unreal Engine).
-The price-tag. I don't know why this is on Steam yet..If anything the developer should release it for free on his website as an alpha or beta testing phase.
-Graphical Glitches (jump with your weapon out, press 'f' while no weapon is equipped)
-Exploitable Terrain (Run behind a tree while being chased by a skeleton and the skeleton catches on the tree and you're free to safely pummel him to death while he stands still)
-The tree's and stones don't break down while harvesting them (or extracting them).
-The crafting system isn't complete and doesn't seem to allow you to craft. I had more luck finding tools and gear than I did actually crafting it. In fact, I couldn't craft at all...
-No building available, no story to follow, not sure what I'm doing here. There is no sense of direction or a story line, so it's not about the experience. There is no building, therfore it isn't about creativity. There is no real survival aspect, so that's out the window. What is this game?
Honestly, and I'm not trying to be rude, this game needs a LOT of work and should not be on steam with such a lofty price tag, especially since there is no word of the direction of the game and no word on what features we can expect. As it stands right now, I could purchase the texture packs from Unreal Engine, fill the world and use the tools to create terrain and drop a few box and copy this game. It's not unique, original, or even playable to be honest. While reading the reviews, it honestly feels like the few good reviews this game has came from friends or family members trying to support someone's hobby.
This is my second review on Steam.
I found this lil gem when browsing imgur and I would like to say it has got alot of potential. The unique art style is very beautiful and there is very good lighting in the current state of the game. It has very 'minecrafty' feel to it, as it very 'blocky' and has a survival and crafting system.
In the current state of the game, there isnt much to do other than walk around and test out the basic mechanics. I only played for about 20 mins and I have already achieved everything that can be achieved in the current state of the game. I can say that it is unplayable ATM.
Reasons:
AI is broken
Animations are broken
Lack of content
Very buggy
I think in due time this could be a great game and I recommend it, if you want to see test and follow the progression and help fund the ONE MAN TEAM, that is creating this game.
I haven't played for very long yet, but here are my observations thus far:
Pros:
- The world itself looks very good. Decent shading, different types of buildings, and a feel that's almost reminiscent of Cube World's setting.
- Easy to get started and find resources.
- Multiplayer.
Meh:
- Not a whole lot of explanation in-game about how to get started. Using the steam guide really helps.
- There isn't a whole lot to do in the game yet, but that's to be expected since it's in early development.
Cons:
- Combat is a bit clunky, and I have often found myself stuck in place while attacking and getting mobbed. It's a bit annoying, but I imagine that once I get properly geared up it won't be as dangerous.
- Odd framerate drops happen occasionally. I have a decent computer (probably mid-tier by today's standards) and the game isn't all that smooth, but it is still playable.
Overall, I think it is a decent little game, considering how much work has gone into it. I anticipate playing a lot more as development continues.
I've played the game for about 20 minutes. I paid full price unlike others that received it for free. I will give my pointers as to why it has potential but not worth the price for being in such an early stage.
The game is like a mix of minecraft, skyrim, cube world, and adventure. It has many things to explore but there is very little to the game. I figured out how to actually craft, gain ores, fight, but the one thing that was impossible was food. The controls in this game are pre-set and there are only a few options. Movement, interaction, taking out weapon, crafting, and inventory. That is all.
I found craft diffcult because although I did find a hammer from the bodies of skeletons, I could only harvest ores, stone, and logs. I could not grab the simple grab for other basic components and there are no instructions.
This game could have a lot of potential but there is not a single help to it and you run around endlessly as your hunger go down and you explore until you die from a skeleton or run out of food. In the end, I actually refunded the game as it seem it is not worth the full price although it is on sale only a few dollars off. At most it should become like minecraft starting at $5 in alpha and as it becomes more developed and more popular, increase the price.
I saw this game on Imgur and the creator worked alone with over 10,000 lines of code. Good job but it needs a better way to allow feedback to expand the growth of the game quickly.
Update (November 2017): The game haven't updated and haven't listen to the commuunity. The game is now on sale for only $2 because it's doing so poorly.
Good art style.
Bad combat.
Very little to do.
With more features and chat it could have potential.
