Black Hat Cooperative is an award-winning stealth game that pits you and an ally against robot agents that seek to remove you from the system. Explore complex levels filled with hidden dangers and work together to survive.
Couch Co-op + Local Multiplayer
Play with your friends on one computer. Choose Hammer and sneak past agents, collecting treasure, keys, and passwords along the way. Or choose Spice to get the bird’s eye view and guide your partner to treasure and safety. Information in the world and on the map must be pieced together to beat the levels. At this point there’s no support for online play.Hacking Superpowers
Spice can use a hacking terminal to unlock special doors and freeze or blind enemies. But these superpowers require teamwork. Hammer must collect in-world “bits” and scan enemies to enable hacking.12 Challenging Levels
Each level is crawling with robot agents including the grunt, captain, king, or the hunter, who can sniff out your trail and chase you down. Environment challenges like laser traps and sound-detecting alarms keep you on your toes.Technology
Black Hat Cooperative can be played with the Oculus Rift, HTC Vive, or with dual monitors. Hammer is in VR and plays with a gamepad or Vive controllers, while the other player uses the computer's display, mouse, and keyboard.Awards

Background
Black Hat Cooperative started as a weekend game jam project during the 2014 Global Game Jam. Since then, we successfully funded a Kickstarter campaign and created a company, Team Future, to publish the game. Many thanks to our Kickstarter supporters, thousands of people came to our demos, and our friends who gave their time and encouragement. We hope you enjoy the game!Поддерживаемые языки: english

One of the few games that takes advantage of the a VR headset and a flat screen. It requires two players to communicate and work together to overcome stealth puzzles. Play it with someone who knows you very well.
A bit basic looking, but an interesting concept to have a bit of coop fun with friends
Really fun game to play! The person on the pc feels like a hacker ;)
For $10 this is a good deal for the price: quite fun and a great use of VR.
Of course it could be longer and the low-res graphics are reminiscent of Minecraft (which might suit your tastes), two of us got several hours of entertainment out of this. Also it makes a fun party game for friends who are new to VR since the controls don't take long to learn, and it's fun to watch how other teams approached the various problems.
A great idea. I hope like to see more games like this.
What more do you want for ten bucks?
I played this over remote play together with friends over discord and it was super fun. Very surprised that a game so simple can be so much fun. The animations when you die are very surprising and will spook me every time I die. I do wish that there was a level editor so we could make levels for others to do.
I thought this was a really cool example of how an espionage game with co-op could work for VR. A really interesting vision and we had a fun time playing it! Obviously it needs more polish and I wonder if the developer moved on, but bravo on this experiment, very cool.
When people asked "what game would you do in vr" this is what i had in mind...
except i described it as SPY and the GUY IN THE VAN. But Hacker is better.
What you get for the price (if you get it on discount is a steal) is a very simple game where you need to be guided to your goal.
Its a simple premise, but its SUPER fun to play (i played with my wife and she loved it and screamed a few times STOP DONT MOVE!"
I wish this got more updates :( but it seems like its a finished product.
Maybe a sequel!?
Anyways, the game needs 2 people, if you have them, its really fun, can also work as a party game!
A very smart asymmetric multiplayer.
Forget about playing this alone, you won't be able to survive without your partner. Communication is vital.
It reminds me a lot of the British TV adventure show Knightmare. Having to guide a (semi) blind teammate into a computer generated world to get to the goal.
Very challenging and will bring on the motion sickness after a long session. Nevertheless, I always like to play this with any visiting friends.
I wish there were more games like this.
The movement controls follow the direction your head is facing. Not the direction your body is facing. This causes motion sickness. It's a fun game so far, but I've heard it's short. I'm expecting to take a few weeks or months to finish about 3 hours of game-play because me and my girlfriend can only play for about 5 minutes each before having to do something else. Vader immortal also uses the control stick for movement, but I had no problems with motion sickness in it. I hope developers take note of how very subtle differences in movement systems cause major motion sickness differences.
This is the most fun i have ever had with friends in a VR game
Asymetric VR games are amazing !
I wish they would make a more advanced splinter cell like version of this game
But still for its money its very worth it
Super fun party game. I had 4 guests relatively new to VR taking turns as "Hammer" and nobody had any issues with figuring out the controls or motion sickness. Lots of yelling and laughing, "Go UP! no, left. Left! Stop. Stop. STOP!!! AHHH!!"
Adding a level editor would seriously take this game to the next level for depth and replayability. Worth the full price. On sale? jump on it.
Must have VR and at least one friend in the room.
A fun and frantic communication game which is a little bit let down by the VR implementation. This game desperately needs a controller-relative movement option. In a game about communicating what's around you, it's really frustrating not to be able to glance around without suddenly veering off in that direction (which can immediately end your game). If you can get used to the controls then it's a lot of fun, but based on the kind of movement, I wouldn't recommend this for new VR players. If you're used to smooth motion from other games then this is definitely worth checking out.
Excellent coop game. Although a little light on content. I really hope they'll give us that level editor they've talked about. As it is now, I don't know about full price but you really can't go wrong if it's on sale.
Simple Asemetrical Co-op game. The objectives are a little glitchy sometimes but over all it is a solid game. It's fun having people shout inarticuatley to spy better.

A very enjoyable local co-op experience. The movement could be slightly discomforting for those that aren't used to sliding locomotion if you're in there for awhile, but when passing the headset around, everyone seemed fine. I had fun mirroring the VR display on the TV and having the family watching and shouting together.
While there aren't too many levels in the game, swapping places for who is in VR is a very different experience, so you can get some replayability out of each level. Especially if you want to 100% each one.
This game is always a hit when I have people over. I also started a VR business and the publisher was very responsive and easy to work with so I could provide this game to my customers. The assymetrical gameplay engages everyone in the room and makes it solid game. It definitely shows how unique VR can be if you add a bit of creativity.
I really like the concept of this game. I hope other games will follow in its footsteps. However, this particular title was not made very well for the Vive.
Head tilting is not registed in the game, and room scale is available but not really useful. You move around with the thumb pads, but your character moves very fast. This game will easily make you nauseous; in fact, the first time my friend entered the headset to play as the spy, he couldnt last 10 minutes of gameplay. I drove him home and he immediatly threw up when walking to his front door.
This honestly feels like it was originally an Oculous Rift game that wasn't properly ported over. I don't know if that is the case, but at any rate, its unacceptable in its current condition. I have a really high tolerance for this kind of stuff. I once used Google Cardboard to play a ghetto SteamVR at an abysmal refresh rate. I've used various styles of 3D glasses/monitors. I've never gotten sick to my stomach like this game has done. Again, great concept, literally unplayable as it is now. Requested a refund.
I was skeptical about buying this game when I first saw that the reviews were mixed, but I have to say this is the best spent $10.
-Very fun for both the hacker and person in VR
-Very intense, sitting as the hacker at some points made my palms sweaty!
-Difficult at times, which is great; something that is missing in the VR community.
-Different/very original, also something that is entirely missing in the VR community (Thank god not another wave shooter.)
-Has twelve levels, the third level in the game took us thirty minutes to complete. I would say there is definitely a good amount of content and replay value for ten dollars.
Overall, I had a great time playing it and would recommend it highly.
Difficult recommendation to make. It is fun for while it lasts, but I would suggest waiting for the developer to release additional levels. I have played for two hours with my girlfriend, and it appears we are 80% complete. There are 12-ish levels.
The trailer is basically the entire game. One player navigates for the player that is wearing the headset. The navigator views a map of the level from a top down perspective. It is akin to the old map views in the original Doom. The navigator can view the entire level, enemies and all. This view allows the navigator to direct the player wearing the headset. Occasionally, the navigator can imput commands, or hacks, to assist - like disabling a patroling enemy. However, we have barely used them to complete the levels. The levels thus far have all been single floor - one floor with no stairs or elevator or ledges to a second or third floor.
The player in the headset can sneak, walk or run throughout the level. He or she has no weapons or items to really interact with inside the game. You can collect keys by walking into them to unlock doors. You will also relay passcodes and observations to the navigator.
Visuals get the job done but are very bare bone. Again, reminiscent of first person shooter gamers. Basic visuals ensured that I had a stutter free experience with a 980ti and i5-4570.
The concept is unique but would have liked more depth. One of the store page screenshots depicts a console that states "trustno1". I hoped that tied into the actual game somehow - some sort of story that might make the person in the headset question whether the navigator was actually on his or her side and/or motives. A meta that disrupted whether the players were aligned together - akin your assistant in the beginning of System Shock II. Alas, that was me reading far too much into that screenshot. There is no story, explanation or anything. Although ... looking back, I am fairly certain my Girlfriend deliberately lead me to my doom on a handful of occassions.
That said - Black Hat is one of the more polished VR games that I have played thus far ... just kind of shallow. It shows the potential for these type of VR games with a player at the desktop computer and a player in the headset. Remains to be seen whether we will ever get there. If Team Future Games released a game ... in the future (heh heh) ... where the roles are flipped - the navigator tries to stop the headset player, and the headset player can hack and defend himself - I would totally be into that game.
On the topic of motion sickness. With my Girlfriend, I played in the headset the entire time and never experienced any sickness. The initial session lasted an hour. First time in a game with locomotion that I did not experience motion sickness. War Thunder in a plane made me ultra dizzy. The free Wizard VR game made me sick. Black Hat was a welcome relief. Pushed it to the limit too - sprinting, moving backwards, moving slowly. No motion sickess, so that was a nice change of pace. Regrettably, the Girlfriend cannot say the same. She put the goggles, moved a step in game, swooned in her chair, said "whoa" and then immediately took them off. Refuses to put them back on. Take that for what you will, but I think if she was willing to give it another try, she would adjust.
** Edited for clarity.
One of the nicest games out there right now for little gatherings, it's quite rare for local coop games that involve vr but these peeps are on to a good one :D motion sickness was intence but after 30 seconds on soldier through the menu to get use to it, it was not a problem and i was completely fine with it, same process happened with my friend when he played first time.
pros:
great concept
easy controls
intense gamplay
MASSIVE laugh XD
cons:
12 f***ing levels???? WHAT???????????
Edit (Dev comment)
Theres More levels to come! :D Perfect game haha
