Star Explorers is a game made by a single person over the course of many years - janky behavior may be experienced. You may reach out to the developer on the Steam forum or Discord server with any questions, bug reports or insults.Version 5.0
Earth has been destroyed, and humanity must find a way to survive. Star Explorers grants players a tremendous amount of freedom and agency in how to approach the game without holding your hand, but with freedom comes responsibility and consequences. Take risks and reap the rewards in your efforts to find a new home for the human race in this open world space exploration game.Reviews:
"...See, the galaxy Schmidt has created here isn't cruel. "Cruel" implies that it cares. And this galaxy is terribly, terribly uncaring..." - MagFlare – Steam User"...This game, at its core, is about exploration, and it scratches my space exploration itch in a way that no game has since I played Starflight as a kid..." - battlescar2014 – Steam User
Planets
Planets are formed randomly, but their conditions are based on somewhat scientific factors. The size and temperature of the star they orbit, their distance from that star, the type of surface, atmosphere, and liquids present (or not) determine how a planet will look once landed on. Players will be able to land, depart and return to planets, exploring their surfaces as well as underground cave systems repeatedly, while keeping the same features intact on each visit.Exploration
Fuel, ammunition and oxygen will all have to be carefully managed if the player wants to survive the long search for an earth-like planet. While many planets will be too hot or cold, or without an atmosphere, there are also worlds of liquid methane, ammonia, sulphuric acid and more, that have developed their own unique evolutionary cycles. Each kind of alien plant, tree or animal is pieced together randomly, making for a unique experience for each player. The Star Explorers universe is not a friendly one though, it can be cruel and indifferent to the struggles of its inhabitants. If you're not careful, you might land on a planet that's just too hot, or too cold, or enveloped in a cloud of corrosive acid, and not live to tell about it. Upgrading your space suit will open these otherwise impossible worlds to further exploration.
Inventory, Upgrading and Crafting
Exploration will allow the player to discover many things, including tools and resources that will help in further exploration. Among these are raw materials, weapons, armor upgrades and blueprints that allow you to craft helpful items. Armor upgrades will increase your space suit's resistance to heat, cold and other environmental hazards. Some weapons allow you to access areas that may be closed off to less experienced adventurers.Caves and Ancient Ruins
Star Explorers may be the first interstellar dungeon crawler. Traversing the dark, hidden places and caves is necessary to find the resources required to complete the game. Discover the crumbling remains of an ancient culture and learn the secrets of its mysterious people. In Star Explorers, exploration and investigation are rewarded with special items and locations that many players may never find. If you are someone who likes to look around every corner, then this is the game for you.Generative Design
Almost everything in Star Explorers is produced generatively. From the locations of stars and nebulae, to the surfaces of planets and their features, every location is different, and every play-through offers unique challenges. Even the music heard in game is generated in real time, and is based purely on the parameters of the player's environment. Each planet, cave and other location has a unique sound-track.The Future of Star Explorers
Star Explorers is still in development. You can see update announcements here on the store page, and in the community hub. A version 6.0 has not officially been announced yet. However, minor updates and tweaks still happen fairly regularly.Поддерживаемые языки: english

You spend more time searching for a star to visit than actually playing. The navigation system is terrible.
GAME IS FULL OF BUGS:
The first quest has you search for a standard star in sector 21 and find a planet made of silicate rock. Land on it and find these fuel crystals. In my first playthrough, no such star was generated in sector 21. I spent all my fuel looking for a silicate rock planet around different stars in other sectors. The game can tell you to find something that it didn't generate. The font is VERY small and VERY hard to read. The HUD is small and hard to read too, It's too easy to get lost in caves. I had my ship flat out disappear off my radar so I couldn't find my way back. I've died just walking around. The game doesn't warn you of low oxygen, health, etc. you just die in mid step. A low-meter beep would be nice. It don't tell you why you died, you just fall over and make a silly noise. No death screen or message, nothing. You need to squint at the awful HUD to figure out why you kicked the bucket.
I arrived at a star system once that said it had 4 planets, when I arrived, I found none! Yep! I could see the orbit lines of the planets on the overlay, but no planets were found, making it even more difficult to do quests. The game lies to you.
When arriving at a planet, you must walk down to the hangar bay in your ship to land. Except I've wandered around the hangar before trying to find the trigger to click on. Why not put a "LAND" button in the nav computer? Why all the hassle? If you must walk to a hangar, why can't you just click on your lander to get in? When on a planet, if you want to get back into your ship, you must circle around to the back and click on the back door. Why can't you just click anywhere on the ship? Very tedious. If you're running from an alien and trying to get into your ship, you're as good as dead.
I had to brighten up the textures of the interior of the ship,. I don't know how anyone can read the door signs on board your ship, it's just plain too dark. On the ship and in caves. Look at the Star Trek, the Enterprise interior is bright. This ship interior looks dim and dull. This dev thinks everyone has 20/20 vision. A brightness control in options will go a long way. A UI scale in the options would go even further.
The game is clunky, frustrating, and difficult.
The only good thing I can say about this game is that it's only $5.
Not worth it.
Take that money and go buy a hot dog. This game will have you making up new cuss words while squinting at tiny font.
Worst space game I've played in awhile.
Needs LOADS of work.
Avoid this one.
STAR EXPLORERS
The Interstellar Dungeon Crawler
A bit hard to get the controls right but once it's done It's simple fun, I could play this for hours and not get bored
better than starfield
Explorer of Sky but in space
Better than starfield
Its a good game feels like a steal for only 5 dollars it should be more. The exploration and combat is pretty cool the combat is linear its nothing really too special but its not too bad for people that are bad at combat as its pretty simple. The exploration is good everything is Procedurally generated though its not elite dangerous or no mans sky type big Its big enough you can definitely go to every planet or star in the game i think it has a limit but its gonna take a while and my guesses are around a few thousands stars and planets if not less. But overall its a nice simple game its not huge like some other games and if you dont have a good pc then this game is for you the graphics are simple and it doesnt eat up alot of your computers space. 8.5/10 Good simple game made by just one guy
This game has SO much potential, and is already great to play. Yes, there's still stuff to improve and add. So let the dev know. I think we'll see regular improvements. The background planet 'noise' can be eerie and/or a bit tiring. The planets need more surface variety; but I'm willing to wait.
8/10
Very interesting game, deserves more attention.
Pretty crazy (complex/realistic) simulation of space, but also a kind of dungeon crawler full of exploration and natural dangers.
The UI and general gameplay have both been improved along the years and while SE isn't for everyone, it is still very approachable and full of surprises.
