Bulletstorm: Full Clip Edition

I bought this on the Nintendo Switch a long time ago, because it Looked fun and I was convinced it would have "gyro aim." Ofcourse, It didn't have "gyro aim" on the Switch and I was sadge lol. It also had a poopy framerate. O'well... 🤷

Now, I have a Valve Steam Deck! I docked it to my gaming monitor. Connected my DualSense Edge, correctly setup gyro aim in "Steam Inputs" along with "flickstick", disabled aim assist.. I had a super Godlike experience! So freakin' fun! I beat it in one sitting! I finally got the experience I wanted from this game. Not to mention it is Deck verified and ran flawlessly.

This game is just hella entertaining arcade shooting with nonsense degen dialogue lol. My only regret is I didn't play it on "very hard" difficulty. I played it on "hard." It was a little to easy for me. However, I still had a blast! Wo0o0o0o!!!

Сontrary to the original marketing strategy, this is still way closer to Call of Duty than to any classic run-and-gun kind of shooter.

But it is the most ridiculously entertaining Call of Duty campaign ever.

It's gorgeous; every setpiece hits an absolute bullseye, every gun is fun to use, and nothing ever overstays its welcome.

Oh, and it actually has good writing. I know it's kind of trendy to use the same "I will kill your diсks" clip and dismiss the whole thing as juvenile nonsense, but "juvenile" is not a synonym for a lack of quality; it's just a style. You can do it poorly (i.e., Borderlands 3), and you can completely pull it off. And let me tell you—it's not Borderlands 3.

Just short and sweet, this is just peak singleplayer campaign, amazing gameplay, the game never ceases to amaze me with how good the story is and it's just an incredibly well paced game.

The biggest shame is how the sequel was never made, it really ramps up towards the end but we all get cockblocked at the end because of money, game did not sell well enough for the sequel, sadly.

Very fun shooter, I like the idea of style points, the anti gravity mechanics of the whip and kick.

if you have ever wanted to kick your enemies off of cliffs and get usable style points for it, dont mind a ton of blood and cussing, enjoy experimenting with new ways to dismember and conquer your enemies, and you dont take games too seriously, then this game is for you. They made a game that is fun to play and made the story at least engaging. The characters are true to themselves and the gunplay is good. Without a novel element in the game, I cant give it a perfect score and the dialogue felt a little on the excessive side at times, while the main character is on a righteous retribution spree of mass killing, it didnt feel like he was as redeemed as he could have been, (maybe thats because my kids made me skip a key scene) but the starting AR being really lame was a huge downer, taking a full clip almost to a basic enemies head to kill them was disappointing. all together, I give this game a 7.2/10.

Ever wanted to be a badass killing machine? How about gaining more skill points by how you creatively slaughter your enemy? How about gaining more skill points in your creative killing spree while drunk on nom juice? Then this is the game for you. It's short but fun and well worth a try. Especially on sale! There Definitely should be a sequel!

great gameplay and fun campaign, a shame there hasn't been a sequel yet

A fun action game with lots of shooting and explosions. Feels like a console game but plays fine on PC. It looks very simple at face value but actually has many different ways of killing the enemies which makes it fun. Has a variety of unusual weapons. It only takes 7 hours to finish which was good because it gets boring after you achieve all the kill combos.

It looks really good and plays very well for such an old game but it did crash a surprising number of times on my PC.

I loved this when it was originally released in 2011 and I love this game now. Back in 2011 this was such a fun and fresh take on the First Person Shooter and I would would argue that a lot of the mechanics that made this game so unique would be what inspired the absolute perfection that was DOOM(2016). The Duke Nukem Tour DLC is kind of a waste, this game really does feel like it could have been the "Duke Nukem: Forever" that everyone was waiting for instead of the one we did get, however the DLC gives us nothing more than a model swap for Grayson Hunt and all lines change from Steve Blum to Jon St. John, this is pathetic considering they probably could have gotten the other 3 voice actors in the game back and do new lines, but it is jarring when Earth famous Duke Nukem isn't recognized and then called Grayson Hunt for the whole campaign, they try to joke that it is one big mix-up and no one realizes Gray and Duke have switched places, but overall it's just kinda dumb. I wish this game got a real remake.

Duke Nukem Tour DLC 2/2

It's okay. Terrible opening and ending and the final 2 acts kinda suck but everything else was a ton of fun.

I swear this game is always one sale for less than 5 dollars, which is crazy because this is genuinely a really enjoyable game.

This game has been in my library for years, finally decided to play it through, and I am so glad that I did. A blast from start to finish; no secrets to find, no going off track, just run and gun, and all the better for it. I haven't tried it on my pc or Steam Deck yet, but did try it on my Rog Ally and it ran like a dream with only 2 o 3 crashes. I highly recommend this great title, and with the twist at the end, I hope that one day there will be a sequel.

Pump and dump of bullets, was a quick, fun shoot-em-up.

It's like watching your nephew smash hot wheels together while doing lines of monster energy, except the hot wheels are sweaty jacked men and the monster energy is intergalactic war crimes.

This game has NO business:

- Being so fucking frenetic
- Getting better with each minute of play
- Featuring such amazing environment and world design
- Having one of the hottest bitches in gaming of its decade
- Being so goddamn short
- Having no sequel

This honestly rivals shooters such as the ones like Titanfall 2. It's THAT good. Buy it at full price.

Just a very boring game. Wouldn't recommend even for on offer and the story isn't finshed, so you'll be playing part 1 of a game with no part 2.

THE DUKE NUKEM GAME WE NEVER GOT. Ending is a cliffhanger dont like that at all, was under the assumption youd eventually get off world, nope. "im not even supposed to be here" helped me ignore the story and enjoy the game...somewhat.

If you love fps games with a unique gameplay, alright story and early 2010s humor, then this is for you.
-Plot: Alright, could have been fleshed out more but I feel that they were setting up for a sequel (hope they do it one day), lasting about 4-6 hours
-Gunplay: cool, variety of unique weapons with each having unique upgrades
-Unique features: leash allowing you to pull enemies and slow them down (kicking also does the same), kill rating system that rewards you points for unique way of killing enemies (e.g. pulling them in and kicking them towards environmental hazards), upgrade weapons using said points.

Overall recommended, a nice game from early 2010s, get it on sale and judge for yourself

A fun game with myriad combinations on how to deliver death in creative ways.
Very good landscapes created as you battle your way through hordes of flesh waiting to get blown up, impaled, set on fire, ripped to shreds.
Wholesome family fun, especially with kids. Primary level children will make a great audience with this PG rated game.

The Duke addition honestly did very little for me. Other than a reskin with hammy lines, it fell a bit flat.

It's on sale for 4.54 now which is a definite steal.

Bulletstorm is one of the most confident, well-designed shooters I've played in years.

Actually it's surprising to me this game was originally released in 2011? It feels very modern, like this feels like it could have been made a couple years after Wolfenstein: New Order or DOOM 2016.

Anyway, Bulletstorm is a shooter, kind of, mostly. I don't think the store page does anything to explain what the hell this game is, what it's about or how it plays so let me try and get across how it plays.

Bulletstorm essentially revolves around a shop, where you buy all your items with points. Killing enemies gets you some points, killing enemies in stylish or creative ways gets you HUGE points, each time you kill an enemy in a weird way for the first time, you get a big huge bonus of points, so the game wants you basically to be experimenting and trying out every weapon that you pick up and each weapon's alt fire to get more points so you can afford all the items you need, but I gotta say even on 'Very Hard' difficulty I did not find this game to be too challenging, and although I got stuck on a couple rooms at the very end of the game for a few deaths, this is overall a very well balanced game and you should never really have any trouble progressing no matter which difficulty you play.

There are some games where you can play it on 'Very Hard' or whatever the equivalent is and then you get to some thing later on that just doesn't work properly since the game was balanced for Normal and on higher difficulties you just get stuck, but, Bulletstorm is NOT one of those games. It works great on hard difficulties, in fact it feels like it was balanced FOR Very Hard. I like that a lot.

More about ammo economy. You get more assault rifle ammo from killing most normal enemies, since they all use the same weapon. This is actually okay with me, except it does mean that at least ONE of your slots has to be that assault rifle at all times since it's just so reliable and dependable. In fact, it is so reliable throughout the game that even on the hardest difficulty I was able to use it throughout the entire game, and it is entirely because it has the ammo capacity to just mow down most low tier mooks and it has an alt-fire that literally vaporizes (AND LITERALLY SKELETONIZES) most enemies more powerful than your average 'guy with gun'.

But yeah, so the game is littered with all sorts of environmental hazards that, in a different game would be horribly dangerous to you - but no, not in Bulletstorm. This game makes you almost fear for the enemies themselves in just how many sadistic nightmarish deaths are awaiting them. You will sometimes just walk into corridors that are COVERED in spikes, and kicking any enemy almost magnetizes them into the spikes, and if those enemies touch the spikes, they INSTANTLY are killed no matter how much health they have and you get a big point bonus.

Enemies die if they fall out of bounds or off a cliff, YOU however can't even jump and aren't capable of falling out of bounds or off cliffs, it's simply impossible since the game doesn't let you walk off ledges! Explosive barrels and such litter the streets and almost choke the fighting areas of this entire game except, they do not noticeably do anything to YOU. Enemies however, are so vulnerable to explosive barrels and orbs and stuff that's just laying around, that even if they are behind cover nowhere near the explosive object itself, it'll STILL get them and burn them alive, usually killing them if you wait a few seconds!

I can't stress enough just how vulnerable every enemy is to environmental hazards, they're more vulnerable to the environment than to your GUNS. And in this game, you have both a PUSH (your Kick button) and a PULL (your 'Leash' which yanks whatever you aim at towards you - and it has a soft autoaim) and not only that, once you kick or 'leash' enemies, they get put into a 'slomo' state, independent of time moving normally, if the game believes you are trying to set up that enemy for a nasty death. Of course, if the game thinks you are putting them into a giant fan or other hazard (which kills instantly) then it won't bother with the slomo! It's clever, I like that.

So this means you can deal with a lot of enemies just by literally grabbing them with the 'leash', they are then yanked to you and put into a floating slow motion state. Then, they are just... YOURS. You can just do ANYTHING you want, you can headshot him, you can just kick him off a nearby cliff, you can just swap to your grenade launcher and blow him up, you can shoot him in the balls (which is an ACTUAL ACTIVE HITBOX IN THIS GAME FOR ALL ENEMIES), the game just gives you the capacity to turn any guy into a doll for you to play with and kill however you want. And it's just magnificent, it's a LOT of fun.

Anyway, aside from the gameplay, this game does kind of have a story. It's not much of one, but it's enough to where I was somewhat engaged by it. There's some attempt to give our main character an arc, there's some nice setups that are paid off later, there's some good stuff in this game. Nothing super fancy, just serviceable stuff that doesn't get in the way of the game, and I can get down with and enjoy that just fine.

I think I ended up liking more than the story, many of the background elements. This is a sci-fi game and the writer is clearly into sci-fi on some level, since there's some interesting stuff in here that kinda lines up nicely. You get to learn a bit about the city that you're fighting in as you go and why it is the way it is, and I liked that. You get to see it visually by just playing through the game, and I found that neat. I liked some of the more subtle details too, like the fact that some sort of paramilitary arm is basically doing dirty work for the unnamed evil corporation responsible for everything. I liked those details.

Oh, and I have to note that since I played with everything enabled, this game has some of the most weird, blunt, vulgar dialogue I have ever seen in a game, it completely surpasses other games like Borderlands in vulgarity, and I honestly loved it. You get to hear Jennifer Hale throwing around the 'R' word repeatedly and I found that to be quite amusing.

The game has a pretty serious tone honestly, especially with some of the darker or even thoughtful themes thrown around pretty casually, so in some ways the dialogue felt even stranger coming from these characters, but I think it didn't overly bother me. I don't believe the game is truly going for comedy, but much of the dialogue does seem like it was intended to be funny, and it only really lands once in a while. That's okay though, since the lines that ARE funny, are pretty damn funny.

I honestly don't know why they called it 'Bulletstorm' maybe CliffyB just insisted on it or something (since it'd line up sort of with Lawbreakers which no one remembers.) The guy you play as in this game, Steve Blum, has one line that goes something like "Killing is an art form" and I thought when I heard it, WHY isn't that the tagline or the subtitle for this game, that's perfect! THAT'S the perfect description of Bulletstorm: Killing Is An Art Form.

Anyway, I highly recommend this game, I sort of expected it was just going to be a somewhat competent shooter, but this was honestly a joyeous experience, I simply loved it. It's just a shame about the ending... but I don't really want to spoil it.

Probably the most testosterone-dense game I've ever played.

A pretty interesting shooter with an artstyle that no longer exists. The world is absolutely breathtakingly designed and the cinematic value is 10/10. The gameplay is solid (if a bit easy even on the hardest difficulty)). The story is pretty stupid but this is intentional.

It goes on sale for a few quid every now and then, I'd say its worth a buy but its not going to blow your mind. It's just as easy to put this game down as it is to pick it up, but I think its worth sticking through it.

the game is quite fun, the action is enjoyable and the dialogue is hilarious at times, i played this game when i was a young teen like 10-ish years ago and had just as much fun if not more, especially since i didn't die as much this time around.

started off fun. has some great gameplay mechanics but they get old really quick. the storyline is garbage and the "romantic interest" is a trope. would not recommend this game at full price.

Story is not the greatest, but the game play is amazing. Very creative ways to kill your enemies. Graphics look pretty nice. Underrated game that I wish I would have played sooner.

It's a good short game, indeed. However, I strongly do not recommend this game for those with motion sickness in general FPS games, as this one will make you feel even worse, especially when the main character drinks beer, causing the screen to shake excessively.

The story is very simple: you play as a group of soldiers on a mission to hunt down your own commander who tainted your team by deceptively assigning shady and unethical tasks. The presentation is "super linear". You cannot explore this game. You can only walk on the paths this game allows you to (which is just walking straight and following the route); then the game will lead you to many "scripted situations" where you need to fight against battalions.

The gameplay is enjoyable and somewhat unique. Instead of just shooting your enemies, the game encourages creativity by rewarding you for eliminating them in various ways, such as kicking a bomb at them, throwing them into a wall with iron rods, taking them out while drunk, or even shooting them in the rear. Additionally, combining these methods earns you even more points, adding a creative twist to the experience.

Nonetheless, a bad aspect still exists. Instead of encouraging players to perform different actions, the game seems to slightly force players to do so by reducing damages caused by simply shooting at them (except from the head). This can be frustrating if you just want to simply beat enemies to progress. Moreover, some obstacles or NPCs frequently block you from pushing forward (these are bugs), which could make you die easily when you play hard mode.

There are around 6-8 types of enemies, which might seem limited compared to modern games. However, in this game, multiple enemy types are thrown at you in a single fight, meaning you'll have to face them "all at once" rather than encountering different types across separate maps. This adds a unique layer of challenge and intensity.

Overall, I recommend this short-but-fun game and you should really try it once if you are an FPS fan. If you have even a bit of motion sickness, better stay away from it.

PS There is a DLC that allows you to play as a Duke Nukem, I strongly recommend using it even with your first run. The main original protagonist seems like a fat Wolverine so I like Duke Nukem more.

On paper, this looked like the kind of game I'd love, but I just didn't really have fun with it at all.

Maybe I would have enjoyed it more when it first came out, but this style of gameplay just has not aged well at all, especially as a PC game. It just feels so on rails, consolized, and generally unsatisfying.

I also don't have a problem with "juvenile humor," but it actually has to be... funny. It was just dumb and fell flat, and the writing in general was just plain bad. I could have lived with all that, but the gameplay just didn't cut it for me.

This is very nice game under 100 INR. Nice Graphics and art style nice combat and weapons and nice story. and it will complete under 10 hours easily.

Not so good as I remebered it, wasted 2 bucks for nostalgia, there are better games.

Solid FPS game with some bullet time mechanic, slide movement and a unique leash glove that can pull enemies from distance. Kicking an enemy can launch them in the air and slow down time for that enemy to help you shoot them. This game rewards you for creative kills and contains lot of gore like borderlands 3. Story is average so far, only thing that makes me keep playing is shooting enemies and killing them in different ways.

NOTE: This game made me feel nauseous after every time I play it for a while, maybe it is the stupid Post processing or the wobbly camera. For this reason I can't recommend this game.

So to begin I recommend this game for any lover of FPS! FPS are not my favorite genre but I still own quite a few (in the hundreds I'm sure) This has solid single player gameplay which is what I'm mostly interested in with FPS. I like the story but to be honest it's hard for these type of games to hold my interest for long which is why I only have 5 hrs at the time of this review. With that being said, I own over 800 games so it's difficult to spend much time on any one game that is not at the top of my list.

I played this back in the day on the 360, bought it for PC and somehow it doesn't hit the same. The guns are annoying, the characters are idiots, the dialogue tries too hard. The only thing that makes it more bearable was the option to swap out the protagonist for Duke, because then the dumb makes more sense.

If a 13 yo kid trying to be cool were a game, this is it.

Bulletstorm is a perfect example of how little is enough for a game to be entertaining. Unfortunately, back when it was released, it was overshadowed by games that are still to this day reference points in their own genres.

I somehow can't stop going back to the PS3/XBOX 360 era to experience games of that time again and again. Bulletstorm does not disappoint. The scenery of the planet speaks for itself, while dialogues are so silly it makes me smile several times. The gameplay is entertaining especially doing all the different kinds of skillshots from the "rear-entry" to the "assplosion" and so on.

The story will not change your view of narrative in games but the gameplay will definitely bring you a good few hours of fun.

This game is very underrated and it is borderline criminal that it didn't sell better when it came out. Highly recommended for anyone who enjoys FPSs.

this game is so cool i wish guns exist

Got stuck on top of an elevator and restarting the checkpoint didn't work... Screw this game. It is phenomenally boring. Stupid banter back and forth with decent voice acting. Graphics are fine. Unsure why hey call it bullet storm when you're out of ammo 80% of he time. Incredibly linear. The bullet time gets super old and the leash and the kick is insufferable. Weapons suck.

If you want a "trashy" macho, bullets and gore everywhere, explosions every 5 minutes, badass unstoppable main character, over the top action, and fun for the sake of fun, this is the game.
Don't go expecting a whole interesting story, that's mainly the background for the action and badassery going on.
Also, expect a bit of humor on the level of borderlands.
