CreaVures is a slightly older platformer and while it was fun, you can tell its age. Input and controls didn't feel that great, but for the difficulty of the game it was fine.
The price and playtime are fine, but it was the look that won me over the most.
There are things to collect in each level, but you can't collect everything at once, so I found it a bit annoying that I had to play levels several times.
This was the first game I ever played on Steam and just finished another playthrough with my daughter. Still love the creative characters, simple controls, and semi-challenging puzzles as much as the first time playing it. :)
This game is absolutely beautiful. The graphics and ambient music work extremely well together to make a really relaxing vibe while playing the game. The controls are great, and responsive. The character design is super cute. I'm super partial to Glidey. That guy is the real MVP. The mechanic of switching between two characters to solve puzzles was super fun, and I'd love to see more of that in games. I would absolutely suggest this game to anyone who enjoys a fun platformer.
I recommend this game because I played this game and found it to be really good and I liked this game. Had I not liked this game, I wouldn't have recommended it at first place but since I really liked this game, therefore, I will definitely not un-recommend the game , indeed I would recommend to buy this game. Now, coming to the really important question, Why should you buy this game ? You should buy this game because I played it and I really liked it and since I recommended this game, so you should absolutely buy this game. Now coming to the gameplay, it is really good and I liked it and I recommend you to play the game and before that, please buy this game, because I recommend you to buy the game.
So, overall, its a good game and I really recommend you to play and buy this game . And why should I even recommend, because I really liked this game , therefore, I definitely recommend to play and buy this game and my opinion really matters !!
I bought this game because i was impressed by how the game looked and not only was i taken by the visuals, but the music was astounding as well. I wanna say the game is worth it just for those two factors alone. However the lack of polish in the controls can prove to be quite irritating at times and my biggest problem with the game is how you need to switch between two characters at a time and the constant backtracking through the same parts of the levels is very aggravating. But honestly for a $6 game it was decently entertaining.
The art style is nice and the boss battles are fun, but other than that there isn't much here to enjoy. It's one of those sidescrolling puzzle platformers that aren't really puzzling and are made for people who don't play video games. A large portion of the game is a boring slog with you dragging two characters through the same area from checkpoint to checkpoint. It could have been a fun little game with a little more effort on the game design.
very beautiful mesmerizing game. The music and incredibly detailed intricate scenes really draw you in <3
I enjoyed this title. The graphics are beautiful - I loved the eerie yet calming nature of them. Contrary to what many other reviewers have stated, I didn’t have any issues with the controls (used an Xbox 360 gamepad). Gameplay wasn’t too challenging, but that suited me just fine. I thought the bosses were pretty nifty also, especially the final one.
If I had one complaint, it would be the way the screen strangely shrinks during the cutscenes, but that really was minor and didn’t bother me overall.
This game is $.49 as I write this review - a bargain if there ever was one IMHO.
It's a shame that more effort wasn't put into the gameplay mechanics as they were into the visuals. Creavures is pleasent to look at and somewhat unique with its environments and creatures lit up with bioluminescence as if everything was under a dark-light but the actual mechanics of playing are very barebones. I wouldn't even call it a puzzle platformer since the only teamwork from critters done by simply sending one of them ahead to use their special skill to allow another to pass and the same ideas are used over and over again. This isn't like the Lost Vickings where you have a brain-teaser, its literally a case of just seeing the same obstacle over and over again and knowing which critters to send first.
Worse still is that you have to move each critter yourself, they don't follow each other. So you end up going through the same platforming section mutiple times. There is also no really challnging platforming either and the controls are clunking and sluggish. This would have been so better had it been more like Ori and the Blind Forest with you using different creatures to progress but it just doesn't that fluid or fast-paced. You trudge through the levels from left to right as if this game has learned nothing from platformers since the days of Super Mario Bros.
Just give this a miss or buy it for very young children because there are no lives nor any significant consequences for running into enemies, you just bounce off of them. The controls are also just the movement and 2 buttons so anyone could sit down and figure this out.
Great graphics, super cute! Short, pretty easy platformer.
While the game is charming and the graphics are alluring (if you like the neon aesthetic), the controls and overall gameplay are just unbearable. These are the most clunky platforming controls I've ever encountered, especially when it comes to swinging. There's no real precision and through the entire stretch of the game I made it through I found myself frustrated.
To make matters worse, the "creavures" don't follow each other. This means you have to basically do everything in the game twice, back to back, to finish the levels. I'd much prefer the Trine approach, where you could swap characters on the fly.
Overall the game was somewhat enjoyable. I gave this one a fighting chance because I could tell there was a vision in this and there was a certain charm. Unfortunately, even after forcing myself through 3 hours of the messy controls, I just couldn't push myself to finish it. Can't really recommend it. It's pretty to look at, but frustrating to play.
This game is one huge bug. The controls are boasted in reviews to support both XBox and PS3 controllers, well, guess what? It doesn't work with PS3 gamepad AT ALL. The game recognizes that I plugged a gamepad in, but it defaults to Xinput, shows me buttons from XBox gamepad to press, and my PS3 buttons do not work. I had to use a 3rd-party app to map controls along, but they still work only partially, and, well, I just give up. Even with keyboard the controls are awkward and frustrating, random buttons in random places, the characters either overjump or jump not far enough, etc.
Also, opening Setting page after you just loaded the game leads to... black screen. If you were running it fullscreen - hello hard reset! It looks to me that even the developers didn't play their own game, otherwise they would have seen this bug.
The only good thing about this game is visuals, but the bad controls butchered it for me.
Pleasant and light platformer with great atmosphere and cute characters. Buggy tracking of total motes and essences collected. Controls are not too tight. Fairly short, but a fun journey.
I wanted really hard to like this game, but I didn't get very far before decided I couldn't play anymore, sadly. Before I get to that, I'll lay out some positive things.
Pros
+ Relaxing pace
+ Pleasant music that meshes well with the world
+ Absolutely full of style
+ Competent platforming
Now for the unfortunate downsides...
Cons
- The CreaVures themselves do not follow eachother, forcing you to swap between them to progress, even in areas of little to no obstacles
- No co-op. The previous con could have been entirely nullified by this, though it would leave the single player experience the same. The setup is all but asking for local on-screen co-op
It makes me really sad that I have to give this game a thumbs down, but since those things were important to me, I had no choice.
However, if you can deal with those cons, this game is totally worth it.
so... after playing some time i regret having paid any money for this. ask a friend to try this out before buying.
pro:
#that game is quite good looking at the beginning
#sweet characters
#idea/concept
#shiny colours
contra:
#no AI for other pet or however you call this little creatures (so you have to walk the same way twice, literally. except at "challenges" where really both are needed)
#didn´t see much story or background
#only destination: collect light orbs to save a dying forest - no why, where, what. no sign if it matters at all if you leave orbs behind
#physics and animations are really poor
#that short video sequences are kind of cute but the animations are way too slow... okay... little cat (bitey) coming out of some corner...5 seconds later... still standing... turning head ... 5 seconds again... (urf :/ )
#climbing animation of bitey totally unnatural
#restart at checkpoints after some unexplainable "deaths" (no obvious reason)
after all i will give this a second try where i´ll play a longer period of time but for this i likely need some beer and boredom - good concept, but i´d describe that as alpha or beta - much potencial not used - a pity
i quit playing after it was getting worse with every minute
This game is visually beautiful. I loved the backdrops and the designs of the characters. Gameplay was fun and pretty simple, though more than one playthrough is required to unlock all achievements.
From the first second Bitey appeared on the screen, I was hooked. It was one of the most relaxing experiences I'd ever encountered. The characters each have distinctive and charming personalities; they seem real, more so than many human characters in games. The rainforest is absolutely stunning, even at a lower resolution. The bioluminescence creates a soothing visual that relaxes the mind. The music adds to this soothing effect, with its mystical tone and flowing melody. The only negative point I can think of is its length; the game ends so quickly, while I want to explore more of the world presented in the game. But for this cheap price its really okay and worth it.
This is one of those games which gets a free pass based on its artistic style. In this game you need to get some funky looking creatures through a black-light forest by using each of their special abilities. It would be nice if there was a two-player option, which I can't believe they didn't put in. CreaVures is nice enough that I was happy to put up with having to switch between two active creatures, making me feel like I was going back and forth quite frequently to accomplish the task at hand. Would I still buy it if I had the chance to reconsider? Of course. CreaVures looks awesome.
A beautiful game. This is where teamwork is proven by the animals you meet in the forest. Darkness is enveloping the forest and light is fading. Collect essences to help restore the forest. The conversations between the animals are cute. What else can I say? Beautiful, relaxing, and friendship.
ENG:
Cutest and adorable videogame ever on Steam, which I've been playing for a long time. =^w^=

Yksi söpöimmistä videopeleistä jota olen koskaan pelannut Steamissa pitkästä aikaan. Suositteluni! =^w^=
