I seen some bad reviews on this game and I don't think the're fair. I loved this game and I did find some of the puzzles challenging and easy. So it kept me interested. For 89 cents it was worth every penny. Looking for more games like this

too short and no hint system, easy to get lost or confused
Here's a news flash for you upcoming developers...
'Never connect the game's ending to the easiest puzzle in the game!!!'
Or you will get something like this happen...
* Starts game.
* Gets told about a mystery involving disappearing children at an orphanage that needs to be solved.
* Opens front door. Enters room.
* Can’t be bothered with first room. See's corridor. Walks into room on right.
* See's Puzzle. Solves puzzle.
* Mystery Solved. The End.
I was honestly so shocked that my bottom jaw hit the ground real hard. Completely bamboozled I just had to look in the discussion boards to see if others had experienced this too. Yep, I was not the only one, others found it out just as quickly. On the other hand some had walked around for about an hour before realising that they could have just solved the puzzle at the beginning by themselves. I had bypassed the whole game within 6 minutes max.
The clueless Mexican developers http://www.ensenasoft.com/ should have known better. On what grounds they claim this is worth $5.00 is beyond me? If you want your monies worth I strongly suggest that you don't try to solve puzzles in this puzzle game or you could come across the ending quicker than you had hoped.
In fact the whole game from top to bottom seemed to be just a bare boned framework of a game. The puzzles are all easy, half I solved without even needing any clues whatsoever. There is hardly anything to click on in each room other than the puzzles, practically nothing to read story wise which is a complete shame because with the nice visuals and each room having its own unique twisted feel to it, a morbid full expose on the child experiments conducted would have beckoned my curiosity more.
Instead you’re just treated to a room with a dentist chair, a crane overhead with a hook and an abandoned assault rifle and the gasp expression of your main character when he declares you found the torture room. I'm not sure why your main character, who looks like 'Harry Potter' having an allergic reaction to a bee sting, finds this all too shocking. I'm pretty sure that assault rifles and overhead cranes are just normal tools of the trade for Russian dentists.
Anyway, in final, an overly simple point and click adventure puzzle game that could be over within six minutes if you’re too ambitious in puzzle solving. The real mystery of Rivenhallows is not about why the principal is doing work experience dentistry on the side, but more why on Earth is this marketed more than 50 cents?

I don't mind short games, but...
This one would've been much easier if it'd been clearer on how to play the game from the get-go. Like, there should've been some sort of how-to-play guide or tutorial or something.
Also, I feel like there should've been a bit more backstory than there was to go along with so much running back and forth.
Ridiculous.
It took only 30 minutes to complete and I hadn't even finished some of the puzzles or opened all the doors in the orphanage. It's possible to finish this game really fast as a puzzle can be completed too easily, without clues, and then it's obvious what to do with item you get and then tah dah!! It's Game Over! Why on earth make the puzzles so simple they can be solved by brute force in the space of a couple of minutes? Look at how other adventure games (non casuals) do it.
I actually only bought this because it was one of the very few games that got only 1 star on Adventure Gamers review site and I was curious to see how bad it could be.
Yes, it's definitely a 1 star game.
Good graphics, good sound, simple puzzles but it's not worth the price point. Originally this was selling for 5.00 and is now discounted to 2.00 until Nov 28th. It should really be selling for .99 cents. The entire game was completed (all puzzles, everything) in as little as 39 minutes. In a previous discussion question this was posted directly from the developer in response about the game - "It is possible to finish the game without solving all of the puzzles. Some players take 2 hours to finish the game. Some 4 or 6 hours. Some less." I feel this is very deceptive as this game is very short and quick frankly dishonest. It is not worth a 5.00 or even 2.00 price point because the length is so short. This is the type of casual game you'd find on your tablet or phone selling for .99 cents. If the game were much longer I could see it selling for more. There's some good stuff here. The dev did a good job. The length is the real problem here for what you are paying.
The game description reads, "Only by reaching the very end will you unveil the terrible truth to the shocking events that eventually shut down the orphanage."
Well, I obvioulsy did something in the "wrong" order, because, after playing only 15 minutes I found something that triggered the revelation of the "shocking events!" It was the ending early, because the police were called, and the newspaper headline was about how I, a former resident there, discovered the truth.
I could back out of that scene, and continue to play, and use my inventory, but really, what's the point? I know what happened.
Is that happening to everyone who is playing?
Or, are players thinking the game's over at that point, and not playing more? I thought it was over until I realized I hadn't used inventory yet. "Continue" just repeated the ending, so I used the back button to continue playing.
If that hadn't happened, I was having a lot of fun. I am not big on point and click adventure games, most of them make me sick with movement, but this one was not like that. I like having to take notes, no hints, etc.
So, I recommend the game if the events play in the right order, but I don't recommend it because the end was ruined for me, and it may be ruined for you.
Neat little game. The riddles are not exactly tough, and it took me only 45 minutes to finish, but it was downloaded in no time, runs perfectly on almost anything and the price is all right. Maybe a little too much for such a short game, but it's fine.
If you like point&click games and are looking for cheap, easy entertainment without having to pay too much attention for some boring trainride or something, which works on that crappy laptop you use for work or studies, and which takes up only 163 MB so that you could download it using your phone as a hotspot, Mystery of Rivenhallows is perfect.
