serene and immersive mmo
The game meadow is very relaxing and charming, it is very fun to go around the map and explore while also coming across other players every so often! would 100% recommend this game ^^
This MMO is a religious experience for me. Although I understand this game isn't for everyone, I try to get as many people as possible into it. It's a small and quiet MMO, but that makes the connections you make all that more meaningful. There is no in-game chat, making the world a silent experience, much like their other games. In my opinion, this enhances the experience for me. The world itself is haunting and beautiful, just like their other games. There are not real objectives. Just experiences. Taking in the world and the souls around you. Idk how to explain this game. I just love it.
very nice
This is a very relaxing and charming game, perfect for when you need to clear your mind. It's beautiful style and very relaxed gameplay makes it so peaceful, and even though the fanbase has quieted down for the most part, there are still so many silly hijinks to get into!
Very fun! simple but fun, I like that almost all the animals are free! Definantly buy!
It has a beautiful vast open map, the people playing the game are lovely and kind! There are so many animals to choose and unlock! The skins on the animals are so detailed, and it's so much fun to get the achievments! A must buy game.
Simple, beautiful, and serene.
Meadow is a simple but fun relaxing multiplayer game. It deviates from other multiplayer games by only giving players a set of emotes to convey emotions and intentions to other players. A slight learning curve, but I find it takes stress off interacting with others. Band together to collect shards for more emotes and skins for your animals. While also collecting flowers, mushrooms, and crystals for essence and more actions. While you can keep to yourself and play alone, playing in a group is encouraged by the game mechanics. Want to unlock that rune for some quick shards or progress on the rune achievements? You need at least one pal with you.
The art style is unique and may be hard on the eyes for some, but if you watched the trailer and didn't mind, perhaps you're like the many others who play this game and find it quite charming. The animals are not winning any realism awards, but it's clearly a stylistic choice. The slightly misshapen animals and their awkward gaits certainly grow on you. Watching a wolf that looks like they've got some gnarly back pain scramble up the hillside to join you and your group is surely worth a laugh.
The only notable downside I can think of is the achievements. Unfortunately, they've put DLC-related achievements into the base game, meaning you cannot 100% the game until you've bought all the DLC. On top of that, there's an animal that has achievements associated with it that's only unlockable if you own every Shelter-related game/piece of content (A series of theirs that Meadow ties into, hence the name "Meadow - A Shelter Game"). Yes, that means soundtracks too. So acquiring 100% completion on this game is going to require some extra effort.
If you've decided you don't mind the cooperative multiplayer aspect mixed with the aimless running around to collect goodies, I doubt you'll find any glaring issues with this game.
This game is great very fun i do suggest you play you need to play with other people to progress and you use emojis to talk all the animals are very fun but the game is dying so its harder to find people to play with but theres still a small but mighty comunity
Graphics are a bit shit i'll be honest, but other than its a nice, cute and cosy lil game
No one in servers, even with a friend we were just collecting flowers in an empty world. No NPC's just plants and wandering. Which is very boring. Maybe better with populated servers?
if you love animals and games where you have to grind for certain things. then my friend, here is your game. i love it personally and i hope you like it to!
BEST GAME IN MY LIFE.
It's a nice game, very relaxing to play. However, not many people play it any more which can make it harder to do things especially if you need a certain animal that less than 5% of players have like the eagle
Thank you for the sweet, gentle memories; I hope to make more when the time is right
ugh nostalgia
Uh, it's fine? You kinda just run around and collect flowers. I'd be lying if I said I didn't have fun after getting absolutely fried, but I doubt I'd have as much fun sober. The art is neat though!

best game ive played in a while
awesome calming game
This game is great, but can someone please help me! I play this game on a pc but every so often the screen just turns black and turns my computer off. And also my computer can be like 78% and it turns off. But great game overall!!! 4.5/5 stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️.
I love this game so muck it is so unappreciated I wish that meadow was so muck more appreciated for what it is and whats to come I have a friend and he has a 3D printed crocodile that is white if I code play as him I would be so happy OK by.
TLDR: This game is a masterpiece of tranquility, a fantastic escape from the chaos of the day-to-day grind and just a lovely vibe all together. Would recommend if you're looking for a game that brings peace, gentle smiles and light cooperative play in a spacious, artistic game world.
(At the time of this review, there is a small but active community of welcoming, friendly players.)
Meadow brings a refreshing calm that many other creature sim/exploration games aim for. The premise is very simple: explore an expansive map in search of a variety of sparking stones, crystals, plants and fungi. The more nature items collected, the more essence gained, the more creatures and emotes for those creatures become available. Meet up with other players, explore, find things together, unlock obelisks for more rocks and things, repeat. Neat!
What the premise doesn't capture is the magic that happens when you give players a peaceful, beautiful world, a cooperative objective and limited communication options. "Limited" does not mean incomplete or bad in this case at all. The emote system is loaded with helpful and downright adorable icons that are unique to each creature, making it a treat each time a new one is unlocked. They work great to communicate and can downright hilarious at times. 10/10 Love this aspect of the game.
(Get three goats falling down a mountainside together and see what I mean!)
Though simplistic graphically, it's art style features a wide variety of interesting patterns and colors that set well together and mold beautiful landscapes. The world is split up into chunky "biomes" that each have differing color/texture palettes. These "biomes" have wildly different plants, trees, shrubs, rocks, bushes and often times unique features that set them apart from one another and make them a joy to look at. The collectible plants, crystals and fungi are unique, intentionally crafted assets that are exciting to find scattered around the different areas. The sky is a shifting texture depending on the location and time of day where you are. At night, there are often little planets and stars that bring up warm, fuzzy nostalgia from the era of glow-in-the-dark ceiling stickers. I don't want to spoil it all, but there's a lot more going on than just a meadow.
For me, Meadow is a lot like the collectibles in it; A, beautiful, surprising and soothing little discovery tucked away somewhere waiting to be found and enjoyed by someone looking for it.
Best source of parasocial relationships. Absolutely recommend 10/10 even though it might be boring for some people
I just wanted to play the fox, but I do not want to grind out a group walking simulator for many hours to do so.
I haven't played this game for long, but It's already amazing. The soundtrack, art style, game play , etc is amazing. So glad they made a multiplayer game with this art style. It's beautiful. Worth the money.
genuinely cannot express it properly but this game is so precious to me and the art is so beautiful. it also still has an active community which is awesome so in short. play this.
if this isn't art then idk what is
[i]Meadow distinguishes itself from typical single-player shelter games by offering a cooperative online experience, where collaboration rather than individual survival is key. Players work together to collect shards and plants, unlocking a variety of rewards like new emotes, skins, and animals. Unlike many multiplayer games that rely on text or voice chat, Meadow uses only emotes for communication, fostering a subtle, non-verbal form of social interaction. (Outside of your animals vocalization) This unique feature creates a peaceful and community-driven atmosphere reminiscent of The Endless Forest, where players can connect without words.
Collectibles
At the start, you have a basic set of emotes and must cooperate to gather pink shards, which unlock new emotes. Blue shards unlock skins, and yellow shards unlock animals, adding more layers to the teamwork-driven progression. One of the game's key dynamics revolves around breaking open obelisks and monoliths, which require specific animals or a certain number of animals to open. This encourages players to strategize and work together, making collaboration essential for accessing these valuable resources. The community itself is friendly and dedicated to helping newcomers find shard and plant locations or guide them to obelisks and monoliths.
Atmosphere / Player Count
The atmosphere in Meadow is tranquil, with everything in the game designed to promote relaxation, from the soothing soundtrack to the lush, diverse environments. You can interact with the world by eating fruits, rolling in mud, or exploring biomes ranging from snowy landscapes to swamps and dense forests. The central tree acts as the starting hub where players gather, setting the stage for their journey. However, while the game’s relaxed pace is part of its charm, the player count can sometimes be low often just one or five players online at a time. This can be frustrating if you're trying to crack open obelisks or monoliths, as it requires a sufficient number of animals to do so. On the upside, shards can still be collected independently of the obelisks or monoliths, offering some reward even during quieter times.
Animals
Here's the list of the playable animals in game. Let's begin with the starting animal.

There are additional exclusives that can only be obtained through owning the comics, such as special emotes or skins. There are also skin packs available that provide some cool new looks.
In Conclusion
Meadow is a unique, relaxing multiplayer experience that emphasizes cooperation, exploration, and community. While its smaller player base can occasionally pose challenges, particularly for group-based activities, its calm pace, beautiful world, and non-competitive nature make it a standout for players seeking a peaceful, collaborative gaming experience. If you’re someone who enjoys a tranquil, social atmosphere and don’t mind a quieter player base, Meadow offers a refreshing and memorable escape. Having experienced it during its peak, I can confidently say it’s a solid, worthwhile game.
The best game I've ever played
no
Very cute and artisitcally appealing; there's barely a game here though. The only gameplay seems to be collecting random items on the open world and interacting with other players without text/voice chat. There's no NPCs of any kind or any form of survival mechanics to worry about. Very clearly this is supposed to be a chill hang out game where you socialise via a really niche interest of role-playing as real world animals to other role-playing strangers. Even though that doesn't appeal to me; the game seems to soley rely on this and it didn't seem like many people were online to begin with.
For someone who was looking for a bit more of a wild life survival type of game; this definitely came across as just a mere prototype for an MMO idea to be honest. Which is really weird because this is a Shelter spin-off; so it should've probably at least have had more than just socialising? I have no idea why there's nothing else.
Probably just go play Shelter instead.
I have a very emotional attachment to this game as I've played it over the years. Every time I boot this game up it's like returning home to the forest. There's something just so incredibly calming and comforting about it. Like a warm cup of tea.
A community without words, jumping into a world where we are animals and allowing the mind to slow down and just really immerse yourself into the game. Calming ambiance, beautiful music, and an enchanting aura. I can't really explain it.
This game can only be described in but one word-- Magical.
i love this gam
i love this game so much wooo!!!!
i love this game with all my heart and soul
i have very fond memories of this game i played it pretty much as soon as it released years later i wanted to revisit it and came upon the pleasant surprise that it was on steam and even to this day i still play it from time to time, i adore how unique yet beautiful the landscape is and how despite the fact that very few play it they still update it and do little events rather frequently the dedication and care that was and still is being put into this game is outstanding so much so that i even nominated it for one of this years steam awards, i highly recommend that you play it
The game is incredibily underrated and is honestly one of my all time favorites. It allows for a good and safe environment to play online as there is no chat, but instead we communicate through symbols. I've enjoyed every second I've played on this game. Purchase this, you won't regret it!!! <3
Extremely calming and soothing atmosphere. This game is a safety blanket. Loved exploring the textured lands. Only downside is the game sometimes glitches.
Best game to relax <З
I love just flying or roaming around, be it on an empty server or playing with others, it's very relaxing. The new UI is so much better and I'm glad to see this game is still being worked on/has plans to add more creatures and features as well as a sprint option for the eagle, which I was going to suggest.
The OST and ambience are lovely
also love that there's no chat, only emojis
when u find random people to hang out with it mega fun
Roam.
Howl.
Relax.
good game deff throw it into a five year old's face and make them play it until you have all the achivements. (IT'S A JOKE DON'T SUE ME PLEA-)
Supremely comfy game.
Such an amazing and (still) active community! Very welcoming to new players.
It's a lovely and relaxing game where you gather with other animals (players!) and walk around to collect things together. Not in the mood to join others? There are multiple servers, so you are able to go on an adventure on your own if you feel like it.
I found this game out by staring at it with beady little eyes on a Youtuber's channel and MAN, was I AMAZED at how cool and wild and calming and cute it all was! I usually don't play these games, as I'm in a sorta "idk what to play" rut right now.
but this was, man, AMAZING! well, for the 3.8 hours I played it in 2020, it was AMAZING! and honestly, I remember loving the community here. No talking, just calling and barking and howling and running to mysterious big glowy stones. rolling in the grass with my deer friend, calling out to my fox friend with a little squeak as they chase me from behind. I remember a big, uneasy hole in the ground there, and actually wondering if it was apart of the map, or if I just ventured too far. hesitating to jump in, not knowing where it would take me, alone on the far-reach where the forest ends and a bridge starts to form under my paws. rushing and bumbling and racing about with the animals among me, rolling to a stop at the place where the waterfalls start, and splashing into the water without a care in the world!
Yelling at a strange, weird, huge obelisk of stone with my animal friends.
Honestly, I wouldn't hate to play this again, since I heard that there's still a semi-active playerbase!
Even though I am VERY MUCH a talker, and WILL DEFINITELY want to snuggle up and be friends and know whoever I'm calling and barking and howling and frolicking with, the fact that I couldn't do that back then. Do they still have that? ehh,.,. I'll see that later, I guesssss.. anyway, its amazing, its cool, and most of all, its pretty fun!
i just wanna eat
Very nice and relaxing<3
