Планета полна войн - это больная тема для всех. Ведь так устроен мир, что каждый день мы видим последствия даже далеких конфликтов. Мы видим их по телевизору в качестве новостей, мы видим их рядом в качестве беженцев.Эта война идёт уже давно, и не до конца понятно, когда она кончится. К ней привыкли, новости оттуда стали обыденностью. И даже уже забылось, как всё это начиналось. Откуда корни того ужасного террора, что прокатился по Европе в последнее время.
Современные игры не просто развлечения, это еще одно медиа, еще один способ донести информацию, зачастую даже более доходчиво, чем самые подробные аналитические статьи и новостные блоки. Мы хотим использовать этот канал, чтобы показать что и как происходило на Ближнем востоке и происходит сейчас.
Сирию показывают в репортажах, о ней снимают документальные фильмы. Мы же хотим показать эту историю через призму игры. И пусть слово "игра" не вводит вас в заблуждение. Да, эта игра не претендует на лавры исторического фильма или реалистичного "варгейма", но она с полной серьезностью показывает историю этой войны, через основные вехи, от начальных дней и до последних ярких побед над террором.
Сирия: Русская буря это:
- Стратегия в реальном времени с высокой степенью реалистичности.
- В игре нет "полосок жизни" у техники. Повреждения рассчитываются помодульно: с учетом защиты модуля и силы поражающих факторов. Нанесенные повреждения влияют на функционирование модулей.
- Возможность полевого ремонта техники. Ремонтируется только функционал модулей, но не броня.
- Игра использует качественную физическую систему разрушений зданий и других объектов (помимо зрелищности это сильно влияет на тактику во время проведения миссий, особенно в городских условиях).
- Солдаты и техника переходят из миссии в миссию.
- Солдаты и экипажи набираются опыта. С ростом опыта их эффективность растет.
- Игрок выбирает кто и с какой техникой пойдет в бой перед миссиями и во время миссий при вызове подкреплений.
- В игре можно захватывать и использовать трофейную технику.
- Разнообразные тактические возможности: постановка дымовых завес, высадка с вертолетов, вызов авиаударов, штурмы зданий, использование тепловых ловушек и комплексов активной защиты.

if you bought this because of men of war dont this doesnt handle like men of war
Very fun strategy game once you get the hang of it. If you're new to this kind of game, like me, you might have to replay some missions and hone your skills as you learn about the mechanics and master them. It is a very rewarding experience to initially fail, face a setback etc before making the right decisions and conquering a mission. Can't recommend this enough, especially at the price.

Very surprised how fun and intense this game is. It's takes the best parts from Sudden Strike, Close Combat, and Company of Heros. Very smooth game engine. Great cover system and vehicle control. Level design is solid. It really lets you be tactical as you advance across the map. I was surprised I never heard anything about this game until now.

Surprisingly fun! A more tactical RTS set in modern day Syria. Other than a few crashes to desktop performance was good. Easy buy for $14.00

My SAA units actually fought back instead of running away at the first sight of the enemy.
Uninstalled due to my immersion being broken.
At first, it seems like the allies from Syrian Arab Army are idiots... and then it become as fact :(

not very realistic, the Syrian army defends in this game unlike real life
Can't wait to play as my favorite fictional army, the Syrian Arab Army.
Expected some mediocre slavjank strategy game, but it's actually a genuinely great slavjank strategy game. Gameplay is great fun, music is full of jams, and engine provides a lot of depth and really nice visuals to boot. Sure, it's not World in Conflict in terms of presentation, but it's damn close, cutscenes aside. Looking forward to Front Edge.
Core game and story is good but the path finding and the automatic targeting of the units is a disaster and very frustrating for me.
For example my BMP prefers to shoot at infantry rather than at the closer suicide car or my granate launcher car turns around and goes backwards even though it should go straight.*BOOOOOM* experienced units lost!!! => bad rating for the mission => fewer units can be "purchased" for the next mission.
For my part, I didn't have any technical problems or crashes.

When next DLC?
Still can't Mossad the Assad.
Campaign only RTS isn't quite my cup of tea. But definitely not bad pick if you like indie RTS focus on narrated campaign. It implement similar system to Men at War, good performance, music goes hard.
We are there in West Asia for our Oil under their sands.
Who would have thunk that the best modern warfare rts in 2024 is from 2017 and deals with the syrian war.
Game is very unforgiving and doesn't explain a lot, not a good game for people with deep-seated anger issues.

This game features an experience including mimicing you commanding as a close quarters lituenant in recent syrian conflict.
Its much like the Mowas series, which i personally find unique in its own way.
Unfortunately you have to be a side in this conflict regarding politics you cannot just examine the battlefield, and this game is Russia originated so you may guess which side you are playing as
I like to listen the soundtrack of this game. Even when i dont play the game i occasionally find myself listenin to this particular soundtrack.

A great, taxing RTS that will leave you biting your nails. Combat is demanding and unforgiving; expect to save scum quite a bit. It's one of the best depictions of urban warfare I've seen in a RTS. Your infantry seize buildings room by room and if you send a tank down a alleyway without using your infantry to make sure it's secure you can expect a blown up tank. I do have some issues with the game. I won't talk much about the alleged propagandist nature of it, as it's been discussed far better and in more depth so I'll stick to gameplay mostly. Some missions devolve into the ol' Men of War Assault Squad style of mission where it's you having to take objectives all over the map against seeming endless amounts of troops that either don't move or march on you rather unintelligently. The unit pathfinding is mostly fine but there are instances of units idiotically taking the scenic route to where I want them to go to. The mission variety is mostly fine overall but there was one infantry heavy mission that I didn't enjoy. The game shines in its vehicle combat, so having a level where you take that away was sad. But the mission afterwards had you fight against a tide of ISIS tanks so it worked itself out. The minimap is bad and I can't never get it the way I want it. My biggest gripe is the lack of a multiplayer or skirmish mode to really test the sandbox out. I guess it ran into the problem that Medal of Honor 2010 originally had: If you're making a multiplayer game about a very recent or ongoing war, going so far as to include a snippet from a real life FAC giving his life to eliminate a group of terrorists, then someone is going to have to play as the terrorists. Which sane people wouldn't gripe, because multiplayer is made up goof off territory. But it nonetheless makes for bad optics and the game already raised eyebrows for being about a then ongoing conflict and politicizing it in a way that isn't really palatable to some people. I'll stop right there. The scenario editor is DLC, another sin. But all in all, it's a great RTS.

I really wanted to play this, but i cant even click anything on the main menu, and it doesn't look like this will be fixed.
This game supports the narrative of Russia's terrOoOoOorist war against the Syrian people and justifies it with fabricated claims. Instead of entering Syria to fight terrorisSsSsSts as it claimed, Russia was killing the Free Syrian Army, supporting terrOoOoOoOrism in Syria, and backing the terroOoOoOoOrist Assad regime to consolidate its control over the country.

The hardest and most intense RTS singleplayer camping (difficulty: realism) that I ever experienced.
I usually never have the focus to finish games now a days but this one I did and I have to get the DLC now.
This is an EXCELLENT platoon-ish level game with enough detail to make it fun and replayable but not so detailed that it is impossible to learn. The modern aspect of this game makes it unique in a landscape of a plethera of WW2 and Cold War games. Highly recommended and two major thumbs up!
