This game was absolutely fantastic! If you're a fan of the Zelda series, you'll love this game. The story is great, the controls are smooth (I used a controller), and it actually has a bit of a challenge. It took me ten hours to 100% the game. I was stuck on a couple different parts but the developers were very helpful and always quick to respond in the discussions. I highly recommend this game.
game is amazing got stuck on some of the puzzles but some how got through them all entire lets play on my youtube channel

I don't have much time in but game is ok. Have enjoyed the quests so far and the battles are fun and easy, so far. Recommended time waster, but not sure it satisfies a Zelda thirst. Worth $4.
I'm about three hours into the game at the time of writing this review and I must say, for the price Framed Wings has a surprising amount of content which I'm thoroughly enjoying. You fight with a sword and shield along with other tools that can interact with the environment, creating some unique twists. I really enjoy the boss fights, some of which you can mindlessly shred through while others require a bit more thought and strategy to defeat.
Overall Framed Wings is worth playing, it's fun and has a lot of charm.
My own experience with this game is that in the beginning it was sometimes difficult to know where you should go because there is no map, this makes it a little maze but once you are on the right path, you get a little further into the game.
- A lot of different places where you have to defeat enemies and bosses
- Enough environments to discover
- A good and long story to play.
Generally a good game to buy. :)
7/10
Why am I giving this game only 7/10?
Well, I find it very hard to follow the action. When I managed to accomplish a quest I got stuck in the game for quite a while because I didn't know what to do next. So I was just running around talking to everyone until I finally found the place I was supposed to go. This happened quite a lot and the game became boring to me.
Besides that, the game was made with many details, lovely places to discover and beautiful background music.
This sure is a game made for everyone who loves Nintendo games but also for those who what to discover them.
Framed Wings is indeed an very unique and amazing RPG Maker game, that is very different from the generic run-of-the-mill type of games in this genre.
The game is mainly a single player, single character game (sometimes you alternate between Faust and Elena, but it is still single character at a time). What is unique is that the player and wield different accessories which will interact with the game environment in unique ways. For example, if the player wields a "Hook and Chain" he can swing across chasms. If he wields a Bow, he can activate switches that are far away by shooting. If he uses a large hammer, the he can smash Boulders blocking the game enviroment, so they can get to various unreachable paths. As a result, once you get a new accessories, you might have to go back to earlier maps because the new accessories will open up new game pathways. This make the gameplay really different.
Furthermore there are a lot of unique game bosses, each of which require radically different strategies. There are also a lot of different and innovative puzzles that the user have to solve in order to reach each of these game bosses. Some of these puzzles can only be solved by 2 single player characters, and the game allows you to alternate between Faust and Elena (the 2 main protagonists).
All in all, I enjoyed this game tremendously, and would highly recommend it to any RPG Maker fans out there.
To me, a review should answer one question only: should you play this game? My answer is yes. It's a well-developed, fun action RPG that will leave you wanting for more. I recommend you give this one a go.
I'm thoroughly enjoying the game, although it took me until after dying to figure out how to save and therefore had to restart... Also I have no clue how I'm meant to use potions so I'm wandering along hoping I don't get killed.... For the "tutorials" to not have these in them is a little daft. You have to actually do something to get a tutorial for it...what gives???? If you're good at figuring things out yourself or enjoy doing so this is a pretty good game...although I haven't reached a boss battle yet so don't take my word on it.
Total waste of money. I mean it's 2016, how can anyone who makes a game today not include a map. It´s like the programmer thought "Lets see...what can I do to make this game last a little longer...oh I know, lets erase the map so the gamer has to run around in circles for hours" "Ok, that´s not enough" "Lets make the bossfight so that if the player gets hit more than 2 times he dies, Yeah now we´re getting somewere" "Ok, how can we make this game even more stupid, yeah, we don´t add any clues to anything, then the player is totally lost....hehehe" So if You absolutely need to spend 4 euro, buy something else.
A very nice little ARPG. It took me 20hrs (with 13hrs ingame, no idea what happened to the 7hrs difference) to finish. Most, if not all, of the bugs have been squashed by now. I played it with a controller and it worked fine, no need to remap the buttons. The keyboard layout made playing a bit weird but possible. If you have a controller, use it. If not, you can try to change the configuration with F1. And that reminds me. If you're new to RPGMaker games, don't press F12. It'll reset the game.
The maps varies from small to big but they are all nicely detailed. The exits can be hard to find though there are clues (like footprints and obvious openings).
There are a few secrets like easter eggs, chests and hidden areas to find. Pay attention to what NPCs says and what you see or read (although there are red herrings). There are sidequests, magic, a crafting system, a fast travel system (it's very much needed) and enemies that gets harder to kill the further you get in the game. Just keep levelling up and you'll be fine.
There are no handholding in this game. You start in an area, pick up items and info and then travel to the next area. Sometimes you need to backtrack in order to finish a sidequest or find that chest you needed to leave for later.
The only thing I didn't actually really like, was the story. It started out good and mostly stayed there throughout the game. By story, I think I mean the plot since there were no scenes besides those that pointed me towards the next area. That's ok, though. It didn't feel lacking. However, I feel the end was missing an answer or two. I won't spoil it, though. Perhaps the answers will be in a sequel?
For people who don’t care for a long, detailed review: I rate this game a 4/5 for fun gameplay with a few personal irritations.
For people who ARE interested in my more in-depth opinion, read on (There are absolutely no spoilers for plot in this review):
So I spotted this game as a featured title on sale, and as it was only about four dollars, I bought it. I'm a fan of indie games, and it was cheap, so why not? Not a bad decision, in my opinion—though I’m not very far, yet.
I think that to call it a Legend-of-Zelda-esque game is a bit misleading. It seems, to me, to be more of a mix of Final Fantasy and Zelda. The combat is very reminiscent of Zelda games (same attacking style, get money and items for killing monsters, can definitely get messed up if you go too far too fast, very little guidance for your quest, etc.), but I feel that other aspects of the game (the menu, the equips, the graphics, and the adventure itself) are far closer to the older, handheld Final Fantasy games, like FFIII for the GBA (Or FFVII for the SNES for people who follow Japanese release titles). It makes for a very fun combination when playing.
Regardless of which well-known titles it is like, it is a fun play, and engaging enough that I’ll definitely be heading back to play some more before too long, and I definitely recommend it for people who read this review. I'll be nudging my my family members to buy and download this game. The music is catchy and fits the areas you’re in, the game play is fun, and it’s always satisfying to smack things until you get that sweet, sweet level up sound/animation! The characters are very simple, but that simply adds to the reminiscent charm of older games, and it’s nice to see some attitude from the NPCs.
With that said, there are a few quirks I’d like to point out. As I mentioned earlier, there is very little guidance within the game. For people like me, who’ve been gamming their entire lives and have a certain level of scorn for manuals (born from being an impatient child who wanted to smack things sooner, rather than later), this wasn’t a problem: I just hit buttons until I found what I wanted, and carried on (who needs a booklet’s help to be am RPG hero?). That method of gaming might not work for some, however. There is no in-game tutorial on how to use your weapon, shield, or items aside from being directed to a file that comes with the game on what the default key-bindings are. A few, very brief tutorial windows will pop up here and there for how to open your menu and a couple other basic things, but that’s it. In relation to that, you’ll need to do some searching for your quest progression, whether that be collecting stuff, or talking to some person; there is very little hand holding here (which I love). Also, you cannot name your character, which was a little disappointing, but oh, well. Another minor problem is that the music doesn't loop very well.
For the creator, I don’t know if you’re still updating/working on this game, but I have a few suggestions I’d like to make (I apologize is this seems pushy to you, and you definitely do not need to take any heed of me.):
One: Adding in a prompt right off the bat about where to find the controls, or even having it as a menu option on the title screen or in the menu in-game. might not be a bad plan.
Two: Making the default controls a little more ergonomic/conveniently placed would definitely be a plus. It’s fairly hard to hit the buttons I want with how they are set up. “A” being the sprint button, while “Z” is the shield makes for a strange yoga session for my fingers, and I keep accidentally using my items. I haven’t looked into re-binding the buttons, if that’s even a thing I can do (I’m not quite sure where in the files the controls file is), so this may not be much of a problem, yet. Also, a quick Quest Log and a quick save button would be nice, which, again, might already be things that I simply need to find.
Three: Make the characters name-able! Their default/recommended/canonical names can be the same/be filled in already, but the option to name your main character is a simple, but huge bonus, in my opinion. There's a certain sense of attachment and involvement when a character you've named and leveled up kicks butt that I feel just isn't there when you're simply given a name to live with.
Also, I hit F12 by accident which took me to the windowed/fullscreen option, and it took me back to the title screen! Is that supposed to happen, or is it a bug?
And I guess that’s it for my long-winded review. Time to get back to slaying monsters and saving the land!
Great little throwback title, takes me back to the good old days of SNES RPG goodness. I love the Zelda Series, and I was eagerly awaiting this title to release. I wish there were more Zelda clones or ARPG's where there are puzzles and that moment where you finally recieve that power up or new inventory item you have been waiting for to get to a new area. This game is less than $4.00, you can't go wrong. I am a few hour's in and so far so good.
Bought this game because I'm a sucker for anything zelda like. Unfortunately this game just wanted me to play zelda. Generic graphics, boring enemies, and uninspired levels also the story and characters didn't really have any of the charm of zelda. Gonna go play link to the past for the 20th time.
BRETTY GUD
I bought the Game because it had zero reviews and it was cheep as hell. Kinda sad.
The description is spot on with it bieng Zelda like. The dialouge is generic but nothing to complain about. It does keep the game moving and provides decent contex.
Gameplay decent too.
Havent played much but will update after a few hours of play time.
so far 7.5/10 definetly worth getting for the price if you enjoy SNES like Puzzles and action RPGs.
