Fun little game, can also be good for just turning brain off and mashing out while listening to music or other stuff. Decent amounts of depth, gameplay isn't exactly riveting but you get what is advertised, and It's a B-List modern classic.
Bad game like, The Crush House, And Dustborn, Stay away.

Quite a lot of depth for a simple game. Multiple endings, each of which is interesting in its own way. Only negative is when the RNG doesn't go your way: sometimes I just want to follow the damn dog ...
east kingdom assholes
The game feels very repetitive, with RNG heavily influencing the experience. Without a guide, progressing the story requires grinding through the same scenarios repeatedly while trying to guess the correct sequence of actions. Over time, I found myself stuck, encountering the same events over and over again as I struggled to figure out how to advance the story.
What a joke this was. I hope their other games are better somehow. Otherwise we are going to have some problems, dear devs.
just needs a workshop and tons of mods and this will be a 10000000 out of 10000000

not fun
the best game to play ever in historys!
funky game, but a bit repetitive
Great to show to that young cousin that wants to play with you at family gatherings.
Not much to say, as the gameplay loop and ambiance is very well portrayed in the videos present at the store page.
I tricked the devil
I don't like this game. But it was cheap, so it's fine.
Delgado como una carta. Pero muy bien
Its a very unique concept, and is fun to play. Its a little thin, but what's here is good.
pretty good
quite boring and silly stuff. choice of life middle ages makes way more sense and is way more fun
A mobile game? In MY steam?
It's more likely than you think.
what do you mean i cant have an affair with the jester? ITS FOR THE GOOD OF THE KINGDOM
For last couple of years unable to play on any of my device...
It only took, like, 8 years, but now I can say: Reigns is a really cool game.
Doesnt even load. From forums learned this is a common issue devs do not care about. Great potential, shit devs
Not much content, yet very repetitive. To progress the story, you'll have to grind out the same scenarios over and over until you happen to select the correct series of options. The game also occasionally glitches, making the cards cover the text font, so you can't see what prompt you're responding to, which is frustrating. I don't recommend this game.
I grinded repetitive RNG over and over until I finally got the choice I needed to advance the story and then I misclicked with no way to undo which means I would have just been doing the same thing for another half an hour. No thanks.
I wish there was a way to give Reigns a "mixed" recommendation, since I really did enjoy most of my time, and it's at a fantastic price-point for how much game you get... but I really wish I hadn't decided to play it all the way through.
It really is a charming little casual rogue-lite, with lots of personality, and an addictive but super simple game play loop. It can also be played in very short bursts, which is a plus, and it's very funny at times. While there is a puzzle related to the main quest that is poorly thought out, that's not a deal-breaker. So, why wouldn't this be a strong recommendation? The end game. The last stretch of the game massively undermined my enjoyment of the first few hours, and might ruin it completely for others. I have two major complaints:
1) I had to wait ~400 turns/years to trigger the last quest after fulfilling all of the prerequisite objectives. I eventually ended up just clicking through events without considering the impact because I had already seen them dozens of times, and there was nothing left to accomplish other than beating the game. The "narrative" reason for the finale only happening on specific dates isn't compelling enough to make you wait for several hundred turns. The final quest should trigger shortly after the win condition has been satisfied.
2) I was unable to complete the last quest once it finally started, due to the fact that cards/events show up based on RNG. Maybe I ran into a bug but, without revealing the details, there is a specific choice you need to make to "beat" the game. There is also a time limit before you automatically fail. I assumed that the game would give me an opportunity to complete this objective at least once within that time-limit. It did not. So I spent about 25% of the in-game timeline just waiting to beat the game, when that wasn't possible. That definitely left a bad taste in my mouth.
If the game had more replay value I'd start a new save, but I've already seen 99% of what the game has to offer, most of it many times over. Oh well. It was fun while it lasted. I still may check out the other games this franchise has to offer. Hopefully they've improved upon the original.
TLDR: Reigns is a wonderful little game in its early stages, but probably not worth playing a second time. I was disappointed that one or two poor (and easily addressed) design choices ruined the end-game, the final couple of hours negated most of the fun I had up to that point. However, Reigns still provided me with a few hours of entertainment, at a very low price. That is why I still chose to "recommend" it... but just barely.
If you enjoy easy to play games and don't mind that this game is really short then this seems fine. It was nice playing through a few times. I'm sure its boring if you wanted to try completing this game though.
Featuring a unique card-based decision system, it combines strategy and storytelling in a sleek, engaging format. Players make choices to manage a kingdom’s fate, balancing various aspects of governance. Ideal for fans of quick, strategic games with a touch of narrative.
It's better on mobile devices. Buy it there instead!
