The swimsuit DLC is the only good thing about this game. Boring chore fest with timed puzzles, that guess what, you will have no idea what the actual puzzle is. It just tells you solve a timed puzzle. This is one of those games that requires you to basically read the internet for every little detail. Zero chance you will figure out anything on your own or maybe through blink luck after you waste hours on it.
The game was fun and has a lot of replay value.
Recommended game
Not particularly good really. In-posters aren't translated, the story is a bit silly, not really the serious horror game I expected.
The saving mechanic sucks, ruined the experience.
The Puzzle is very challenging, we dont have any clue from where to start. it feels hopeless but, still this game is really fun to play. ( i do recommend this game is worth it to play for people who like playing horror game with tough puzzle)
hated it so much i bought it again on another platform so i could collect all the achievements again.
It is the worst game I have ever played, I hate it with all my heart and soul.
N**ga i've played this game way too much, it is good, bought it for 2 $ and was worth it
WD had red flags all over it, you get chased in a survival horror game and the achievements are a nightmare for completionist gamers. I still wasn’t planning on getting it when it costed €1,50 on Steam but a friend convinced me to get it and I’ve become grateful for it. I really despise getting chased as a mechanic and I was having a hard time on my first 2 runs (very easy & easy). But I started noticing the janitors having fairly consistent AI that you can work around them and prepare ahead of time. It became easier dealing with them, to the point that playing in hell mode, the game’s highest difficulty, became super fun. It’s intense but it’s so rewarding when completing a run close to perfection. The game is also incredibly designed and it shows in so many different ways. The school feels lived in with tons of details and small touches that show care, the English voice acting is iconic and pretty great, the main story is very well told with the cutscenes and endings, the ghost stories are decently written, the puzzles are great, once you collect a ghost story it’s permanently saved on your main profile regardless of which save/run you’re playing etc. This means that you can solve a puzzle in one run, you get your reward and then you don’t have to do it again in a new run.
The flaws are still related to the grind and AI. There are a few minor instances where the AI behaves weirdly. It’s uncertain whether it’s intentional or not but the AI likes to stay in one spot on rare occasions, making it very difficult to sneak around them without being detected. As for the grind, the entire game is designed around completing the game multiple times. Not just because of the 10 endings but also playing on all 5 difficulty modes, lots of events/collectibles being optional, a lot of that progress is kept track of in an overall profile and the game is really short once you’ve completed it a couple of times and you know what you’re doing. I’m okay with having to get all the endings and complete the game on all 5 difficulties at least once. The game actually changes significantly with each difficulty, to the point that some gameplay mechanics cannot be accessed on lower difficulties. The game’s entire balance also changes and having to do the difficulties in order, it forces you to gradually learn the game and become better. What I’m NOT OKAY WITH, is having to get all the 10 endings on every difficulty. So without context, you’re looking at completing the game 50 times. It’s not as bad as it sounds because a lot of the endings can be gotten with one save, you just need to reload the last battle and pick a different choice. This essentially means that you need 4 runs plus extra for every difficulty. 20+ sounds a whole lot better than 50 but it’s still too much and unnecessary. At least the quality of the game is so high that I had fun repeating the game this many times. It became a sport to try to complete it quickly. My average completion time became around 1 hour and 20 minutes after a while.
The game is certainly not for everyone and it’s hard to recommend outright because of the way it does things. But the game has a soul and it’s very special. It feels like a classic PS2 survival horror game that I didn’t know existed. It’s worth giving the game a try if you’re patient and are willing to play the game multiple times on all the difficulties. Clearing it once only doesn’t do it justice. It took me 70 hours to get all the achievements.
White Day: A Labyrinth Named School is a remake of an earlier South Korean survivor horror game of the same name.
You’re a lovesick transfer student on a heartfelt quest to return your crush’s diary but you’ve chosen the worst time to do it: late at night in a creepy, probably haunted school.
The problem is that, rather than return this diary during normal school hours, you’ve gone about this business at night. And that is apparently not okay with the school janitor.
This janitor is relentless. If he finds you walking around the school, he will smash you with a baseball bat.
That’s the core of this game. You wander around the school, finding keys, opening doors. And while you’re doing this, avoiding that asshole janitor who just won’t relent.
When you’re not avoiding that janitor, you’re observing the old school—which, to be honest, looks like a dump. That janitor seems more obsessed with smashing school kids than, you know, cleaning the school. Isn’t cleaning part of the janitorial job description?
But for whatever reason, students—other than you—seem to love wandering around that school even though they’re fully aware of the janitor’s murderous intent. I guess these kids aren’t so good with long terms planning.
The deeper you get into the school, the creepier it gets. It might just be haunted.
Graphically, no one will mistake this for a big budget AAA title. But it’s a massive step up for the original White Day, and the visual improvements are appreciated—particularly when it comes to the character models.
In terms of sound, there’s no soundtrack. Instead, you have to contend with deafening silence interspersed with creepy environmental ambience—with sudden jump scare sound effects.
Sonnori developed White Day, and they’re also the same developers who made the original. They have a long storied history as PC game developers, and also made the Legend of Heroes arcade game—which seems unrelated to the RPG series.
Overall, White Day is an above average survival horror with plenty of scares and laughs—mostly unintentional. It’s worth a play if you like awkward romantic gestures accompanied by homicidal school janitors.
The remake of White Day: A Labyrinth Named School is a Korean masterclass in ghostly horror that's aged incredibly well, despite the original games gameplay remaining intact. This remake is more of the same, but with "modern graphics" and a few new surprises.
The atmosphere is oppressive, the sound design is chilling, and the jump scares are all expertly timed. But what really gets me is the tragic backstory of Seong-ah Kim, the Labyrinth Master. Trapped in the school for eternity after a horrific fire... I almost feel bad for the vengeful spirit trying to kill me, which is rare to see these days.
White Day: A Labyrinth Named School's remake is a must-play for horror fans. Don't let its age fool you - this game still packs a punch, more than two decades later.
it ok
Not scary, just stupid with poor control and poor movement.
Very fun horror game, full of suspense
I really love this game, its scary
Puzzles were fun, I did like how there are different types of endings depending on your choices.
The stalker character, who isn't even really that scary, is so annoying to deal with. He moves super slowly through his path, sees you from anywhere unless you're crouching, and randomly appears super close to you for no reason. You'll spend most of the game running back to the same place to hide. Sometimes you will get cornered in weird spots and just die. There's a ton of super cryptic puzzles that are impossible to figure out unless you look them up. Finally, there are so many moments where there aggravating sound design. From the cackling when you die to just obnoxious music playing during boss fights. It gets to a point where you just get so annoyed you just don't care to keep going.
White Day has a cool setting, engaging puzzles, and an interesting story. Unfortunately the game does literally everything in its power to sabotage itself.
White Day revolves around two main mechanics. Exploring to find clues and evading pursuers. The exploration element of the game is surprisingly good. The process of finding items and then applying them towards the completion of a puzzle was addicting. There is some significant back tracking as a result of the guess and check nature that some puzzles in this game have; however, the actual quality of the puzzles made this tolerable.
On the other hand, the pursuer mechanic was absolutely miserable and added nothing of value to the game. White Day feels like an escape room. It has the challenging puzzles and engaging theme of a great escape room. Now imagine if the employees of said escape room routinely interrupted your thinking to beat you senseless and reset your progress. The stalker enemies of White Day add absolutely nothing of value to the game. If you plan on playing the game, I highly recommend that you find a way to disable the stalker enemies as I did during my play through.
I can forgive the horrendous choices that were made with the enemies; however, the reason this review is negative is because White Day does not respect the player's time. In my case, I spent hours tracking down all the miscellaneous items in the game to complete the ghost quest lines. What I did not know was that the majority of the ghosts do not appear in normal mode. At the normal difficulty, the standard experience of the game, there is no reward for 80% of the optional side puzzles. What the fuck?
In general, White Day fails to see that it is a puzzle game above all else. This leads to the inclusion of annoyances like the stalker enemies and difficulty settings that make no sense for a puzzle game. There is enjoyment to be found in this game; however, it is buried under so many stupid design choices that I cannot recommend playing it.
Got stepped on but it was worth it. Iykyk.
White Day is a fun first person horror game. I don't know what it is about horror games and using school as an environment, but I find it chilling. It works out with the spooky atmosphere. There's multiple endings and unlockables, there's high replayability. Check out White Day: a labyrinth named school.

hmm..its def not worth the price - get it when its on sale
but its fun to pass the time with
I really love this game, its scary (not that you will die of a heart attack, but good enough) and i think the atmosphere is really well made and, for me atleast asian horror is spookier than western one.
For me this game holds a special place in my heart, because when i was yunger i watched one of my favorite youtubers at that time play it and it helped me through some hard times. so give it a try, you wont regret it!.
Overall I like the game and it stills one of my favorites. The plot is well thinking and it reminds a lot asian horror movies. If you're a fan of horror games and asian movies you will surely enjoy this game ✌️
Despite this, the game may be really overwhelming :
- First, the game have a total of 10 different endings (maybe too much for some people). But if you want to get "Memory of White Day" achievement, you have to clear all endings 5 times in all modes : Very Easy, Easy, Normal, Hard and Hell. So you have to play the game 50 TIMES, really excessive in my opinion.
*Plus, there are no save option in Hell mode. So you must be able to clear the 10 endings without dying and complete them before turn off the game.
- The answer options for dialogue with girls can be a real challenge when you're trying to achieve a specific ending. Even if some answers are very similar, if you chose a wrong one you will be automatically redirected to a different ending.
- The game offers so many items and things to discover that the player can quickly feel overwhelmed and give up on doing everything. Only to find all Ghost Stories and encounter all school ghosts take a lot of time, because most of them appears only in Hell mode and under specific circumstances.
In short, complete all achievements and endings will take a lot of time and patience. I did all of them and get all achievements, but personally I recommend to play this game to enjoy the story.
ZAMN!!!!
White Day: A Labyrinth Named School - A Mixed Bag of Horror
“A chilling homage to survival horror with significant flaws.”
White Day: A Labyrinth Named School showcases immense potential, positioning itself as a contender for one of the best games I’ve ever played. However, its execution often leaves much to be desired.
Ambitious Scale and Content Overload
The game boasts impressive scale, featuring numerous endings, secrets, options, items, and intricately designed locations. Yet, this abundance can feel overwhelming, as the sheer volume of content leads to frustration when attempting to explore everything it has to offer. Many elements are ambitious but executed poorly. The gameplay often revolves around searching through shelves and cupboards, frequently yielding nothing, leaving players questioning the purpose of such extensive searching.
Puzzle Design: A Double-Edged Sword
I appreciate the effort to encourage players to find clues independently, particularly at higher difficulty levels. However, the game’s vastness, both in narrative and environment, can be a double-edged sword. Navigating expansive areas can be time-consuming, especially with subpar interactivity mechanics. For instance, some puzzles require knowledge of Japanese or Chinese, which can lead to confusion and make it nearly impossible to progress without a guide.
Engaging Story and Quality Voice Acting
The story itself is engaging, enriched by ghost stories woven throughout the narrative. The voice acting and animations are superb, though character interactions could use improvement. The janitors are particularly frustrating, possessing an uncanny ability to detect the player from great distances, leaving little room for stealth.
Atmosphere and Tension
The atmosphere is excellent, with sound design that keeps players on edge. Jump scares are infrequent but generally effective. However, the persistent presence of the janitors can become tiresome, requiring players to spend significant time backtracking to avoid detection. The no-running rule in corridors, while clever on paper, often results in tedious gameplay.
Final Thoughts and Recommendations
While White Day offers a lot of value, especially at a discount, players should be prepared for aimless wandering and the occasional need for a guide to appreciate its depth fully. The game’s problems mainly stem from questionable design choices rather than a multitude of bugs, which seems to be a common complaint from earlier reviews.
If you're a fan of survival horror and can approach this game with patience, it may offer a worthwhile experience. However, those seeking a more refined narrative journey should consider other options.
Recommendation: Yes, with caution. For dedicated horror fans willing to endure its quirks, the rewards may outweigh the frustrations.

It is very interesting to learn how to survive with your friends together to find a way out.
One of my favourite games ever, def recommend <33
na
una basura pero me quedé con la menos insoportable 👍
Unplayable. On first load, it is stuck in "Adjust Brightness" without a way to exit.
A buggy boring mess. That's all there is to say. Enjoy
Yes very cool although i would love a mechanic to turn off the janitor cause hes annoying, but very easy mode does its job i guess.
The Puzzle too hard to solve
now thats i've been lookin for.
nicely made.
I went into the game and stood at the door for half an hour. After a fierce psychological struggle, I finally decided to quit the game.
Overview:
This game showcases immense potential, positioning itself as a contender for one of the best I’ve ever played. However, its execution often leaves much to be desired.
The game boasts impressive scale, featuring numerous endings, secrets, options, items, and intricately designed locations. Yet, this abundance can feel overwhelming, as the sheer volume of content can lead to frustration when attempting to explore everything it has to offer.
Many of the game's elements are ambitious but executed poorly. While the interactive mechanics present intriguing concepts not commonly found in games, the reality is that much of the gameplay revolves around searching through shelves and cupboards, often yielding nothing. This raises the question: what is the purpose of such extensive searching?
The Puzzles: uuuffffff
I appreciate the effort to encourage players to find clues independently within their surroundings and documents, particularly at higher difficulty levels. This approach is refreshing in an era where many games provide solutions too readily. The option to select a difficulty level that includes hints is also commendable.
However, the game’s vastness, both in narrative and environment, can be a double-edged sword. Exploring these expansive areas can be time-consuming, especially when combined with less-than-ideal interactivity mechanics. It’s frustrating to encounter seemingly irrelevant details or choices that distract from the core experience.
For example, one puzzle requires knowledge of Japanese to decipher a code, and there are only a couple of items in the entire game that contain hidden codes. These design choices can lead to moments of confusion that make it nearly impossible to progress without a guide, potentially resulting in hours of fruitless effort.
The story itself is engaging, even if its surreal elements are not to my taste. I particularly enjoy the ghost stories woven throughout the narrative.
Quality:
The voice acting and animations are superb, although the character interactions could use improvement. The behavior of the janitors can be particularly frustrating; they have an uncanny ability to detect the player from great distances, leaving little room for stealth. When seeking refuge, be prepared for extended waiting times as they search the area.
There are also minor bugs present, and their impact can be exacerbated during tense moments, such as when you find yourself reloading an auto-save while being pursued by a janitor.
Summary:
This game offers a lot of value, especially when purchased at a discount, considering its quality. However, players should be prepared for a significant amount of aimless wandering and the occasional frustration of needing to consult a guide to fully appreciate its depth.
this game has choices and multiple endings which make it fun by solving puzzles
so cool, and scary.
bad, puzzles overly confusing, insta death situations, quick time events.
For anyone complaining about this game being hard: What did you expect from a Survival Horror Game??? White Day OG and Remastered have in many ways perfected the genre. The difficulty of the Janitor makes every second of the game intense knowing that at any time you could hear their audio cue and have to instantly change how you're playing to not be discovered by them. The game is completely fair with them too, if you learn how to bait them properly they can easily be avoided. Not only that but the game isn't just a "Hide until they leave" if you stay too idle for too long you're punished. The game forces you to balance new environments with looming threats and it seems to me that too many people are accustomed to the newer style of Survival Horror where you can stop the threats easily.
The puzzles can be daunting if you aren't prepared but they are all self contained and able to be completed without a guide (except maybe one). The game makes you think for a lot of it and trying to brute force it will not work
The Ghost's and Lore of the game are all well made, if you enjoy Korean/Japanese ghost stories you'll love them in this game. Each one is able to be encountered (though to do so requires certain levels of difficulty to be played) The overall game lore is also incredibly interesting and as someone who's enjoyed the original I quite enjoyed the updated story.
If you come to this game expecting cheap scares and easy to deal with enemies i'm sorry to inform you this isn't going to be a game you enjoy. If you want a challenging stealth, horror, puzzle game this is what you'll want to pick up. There's plenty of replay value with a multitude of endings and pick up's that can be found/missed in every play-through. This game is wonderful and deserves more of a following. It's not perfect but no game is, however this is a game I believe everyone should experience at one point or another for anyone that enjoys the genre.
Nothing scares me more than the janitor's MINIMUM WAGE.
Scary
best horror puzzle games
hard puzzles
A game where you can only run and hide? A game which allows you to fight some ghosts by using spiritual powers but ridiculously provides you with an inviolable janitor, who is merely an old man with a leg problem? Nah, it's a meh for me.
Nice graphics, kinda scary
super
I'm scared and horny at the same time
