Okay, I can't keep saying every one of these games are "GOOD" and "AWESOME" and that I wish nowadays the level of challenge that these games provide were the same as in the newer games, but eh.
So not to repeat myself: game went back to beautiful dresses. Still got the good lore... Which you have to find. You can put dresses on dolls. (Not a mini-game.)
The best part for me was the "boy". For some reason he was the highlight of the game.

One word - Beautiful. In sound and in design the game itself is a piece of art. It was a little hard to keep up with the story I love the idea behind the fairy god mother's love for a carpenter like Geppetto, and then having Pinocchio as their son was really a nice adaptation. I also again love the expanding universe, it honestly feels like one big adventure at this point.
This game is just relaxing, that is one way I would describe it. Puzzles are just enough of a challenge, but not hair pulling. In a way, they are more fun to solve, the HO scenes are just so fun to do and aren't nearly as frustrating earlier enteries, and they were a delight for the eyes. I just loved looking at the pretty HO scenes, super fun to do.
I just felt so chill doing this game, if you want a HOPA to just relax and admire the pretty art, this is the one. But don't expect a challenge. A great entry into the series and one of my favorite games of the Dark Parables series.
After 100% completing the game (all parables, Cinderella collections and cursed objects collected, including bonus game) ever since playing it on iOS as a child, I can say this game is worth the money! Unfortunately, there has been no new release since 2019, so the series is presumed to have been discontinued/abandoned. I advise buying any of the DP games when they're on sale if you really want to have them in your library.
On the technical side of things: almost every time a new chapter begins or I get an important item, the game freezes for 1-2 seconds. It also sometimes starts up with very low performance (e.g. 6 FPS, frequent stuttering/freezing that will not go away) that I have to close the game or restart my laptop to be able to play it, even though I play on Windows 11 with very good RAM and GPU. But I guess that's the price you have to pay whenever you want to play an old game.
This game has amazing graphics and intricate details. The story is detailed too. The characters and story are well-written.

A ball amidst the Maltese Mountains hosted in a mysterious mansion with a unknown benefactor, a very exciting and curious prospect for some that turned horribly when the clock stuck midnight and three girls were turned into glass statue. The Fairytale Detective is called once again for the 5th adventure in the Dark Parables series to investigate the possibility of the involvement of the Godmother, a witch that is said to be over a thousand years old and seeks for “Cinderella”, pure-hearted maidens, in order to sacrifice their souls for nefarious goals.
Once inside the mansion, a giant beast snatched one of the glass statues by breaking through a solid wall and the Detective meets up with Katherine, a girl that attended the ball and her stepsister was one of the unfortunate maidens that got cursed and offers to assist in the investigation. What is the Godmother’s goal? And how come someone who have helped so many girls before, like Prince James’ second wife, started to hurt them?
Once again there aren’t many new mechanics, only that the stories feels somewhat longer than the previous title as it covers two different fairy tales this time: Cinderella and Pinocchio. The graphics are beautiful as usual, although some transparency and colors can make some objects harder to spot in the HoD scenes. The locations are varied, going from the mysterious mansion, to lush natural landscape to near nightmarish cursed locations with many environmental storytelling. The pacing makes the player go back and forth in different areas, circling back to areas previously explored under new light.
The bonus game showcase the oriental Cinderella, which shows the Godmother before her descent to despair. It is rather uncanny how the cottage has the exact same layout as the one in Europe, but it is an interesting take.
Another solid title to the series, The Final Cinderella might occasionally suffer with some funny voice acting that, given the nature of the budget, is charming. Another solid release from the series.
