EVERYTHING
yaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa
There's no way to Mute the music, which is a cardinal sin.
Not a bad game by any means, it's a fun, cheap RPG. Although it feature no endgame, and it can take a while to start off. Besides this, I find it enjoyable and a good experience when I get bored of other games.
This is an adorable and addictive game. I love the pixel art style, the minimalism, and the simple grind. The game is fun, not too challenging yet though. I'll update my review when I get more into it, but having fun so far!
This is quite an enjoyable game if you enjoy loot based dungeon crawling. However, games like this can get repetitive after a while, so variety is very important for replayability.
With a few more classes and maybe more enemy variety this game could be great.
Fun, casual RPG for doing the time-honored tradition of spam clicking with friends. Music and art style is nostalgic for me, and I love the item comparison view you can use in shops and inventory views! Makes comparing items to what you have equipped before equipping/buying/selling the other item incredibly easy.
it's really hard to feel like you get anything out of leveling. The game just feels like a relentless grind with nothing gained. Add some bosses, speed up the leveling, up the bonuses gained from skills leveled and BOOM you got a solid game for uner $5. But as is, no thanks.
if I had to compare this to other games, I would say it's like Nestalgia and Enter the Gungeon had a baby (in terms of like, aesthetic, loot, etc - oh, but minus the infantile developer running Nestalgia).
I wish there were more classes (with more skills - the skill "trees" are relatively restrictive but pretty straightforward and allow enough points for customization to feel like the character is somewhat yours) and more content (dungeoneering, and boss battles like the one vs lord wellington are fun); but, overall I am having a lot of fun playing - just wish there was more of everything. I think the addition of pvp in the game was somewhat pointless as the combat is so simplistic and the playerbase isn't there for it obviously (will never get the 1000 players killed achievement... actually, maybe not even the minimum version of the pvp achievement, lol) - I felt like this was a step in the wrong direction and instead more pve content should have been included because that is where the game shines.
the overworld map is extremely empty and just cluttered with stuff to run into - it was mostly fun exploring the areas though.
wish there was a way to turn off the ghetto gradient lighting though on certain maps (like wellington's map) because I am not sure if that's what's hurting my eyes so badly or if I'm developing glaucoma.
game's fun for a few hours...
if you don't roll warrior, at least from my experience.
The game actually has no difficulty, i put it on the hardest difficulty from the start and won the game.
Unlimited town portal and no cost = never having to even use potions.
waste of my time that i now have to play to unlock achievements.
I'll make this quick.
Game is SERIOUSLY underpriced.
Awesome hack n slash game with abilities and loots including artifact equips that give unique boosts to skills which are really cool.
Online: co-op, arena, brawl and team brawl modes all work, even if you might have difficulty figuring out where to go at first to get those modes started or to invite your friend into the game.
I love this game, its one of the few times I've bought a game on time and I've actually been happy with the purchase, I actually feel bad for how little I bought this for, honestly.
Game devs I love you, hope you make more games in the future, try better artwork in the future though please, a lot of people refuse to even consider games like this after a quick look at the graphics, which is really sad, but trust me a lot of people I know just take a quick glance and go 'nope' and keep looking at other games. Also you should really advertise the fact that you have online modes available, i didn't think this game had multiplayer co-op and arena until my friend invited me to play with him.
I highly reccomend people who like diablo 1 to try this game, take a look on youtube etc. if you are unsure, but if you like hack n slash and collecting loots this game is pretty damned good if you've already tried bigger games of this genre like grim dawn, Torchlight 2, diablo 3 etc.
This game is painfully simplistic, the controls are awkward and it just doesn't live up to its price. The music is very repetitive, there is no more progression than slightly higher numbers and if you are playing alone there might as well be only two classes each with only two attacks worth using. Co-op or versus online might be a bit more interesting but you still only have 3 classes and frankly I coulden't be bothered to try. The writting in the story can be clever and funny at times but I would reccomend waiting for it to go on a sale if you are really determined.
Really fun, it's definitely worth the $5 and a must buy for $3
Buy it but be forewarned!
The game is good but its a shallow experience. Buy 2 copies so you can play with a friend since the 1 player experience is short and sweet but with no replayability. Mute the music as well, you will know why I say that in very short order when you play.
With the few negatives out of the way the game is fun, I am honestly surprised. I was playing Streetfighter 5 online and the many, many problems with the online connectivity just made me give up. Disenfranchaised with my wasted money, I decided to just randomly buy this game. The reason I mention this is because I just don't understand how this little indie team can get matchmaking and lagless online play so perfect yet triple A studios like Capcom just, can't.
Its truly amazing, the game works right out of the box, the online works, it is just such a breath of fresh air it reminds me why I do enjoy playing games! But enough gushing, is it any good?
Its middle of the road. You see, every class shares the same stats which are more health, more mana, more crit and finally more attack. This means a warrior is no better or stronger than a priest. This creates a weird situation where you are better off picking the wizard since they have the longest range in the game because everyone is equally as strong and defensive as each other. This also makes leveling up pointless because you don't distribute stat points either and equipment doesn't seem level based, if you find an item then that seems to be all that matters, you are good to wear it.
I don't mind the latter point since lets be honest we are all about the fat loot but the game is super simple and is much closer to a twin stick shooter (which it probably should have been) than a diablo clone.
I might sound negative but I did have fun playing the game. I know if I was playing solo that I would get bored quickly and I recommend if you do fancy this game that you have a friend or two who you can play it with.
Its certainly cheap enough that its shortcomings are outweighed by the fun to be had and again to stress that the netcode is neigh perfect which I respect.

It's a game you play for a while, then you beat it and you won't go back to it unless you're an achievement hunter.
The Mage class is far and away the best class. Usually mages suffer from the issue of being squishy and easily wrecked, but in this game stats are affected solely by items. They will affect each class the same way, so this completely mitigates the whole "squishy mage" archetype right there. Now, this is a huge issue because every class has 4 attacks: A basic attack you will spend the bulk of your time on, and three situational abilities that take MP to use that are more powerful, but are limited by of course your MP (which does regenerate quite quickly.)
The Mage's attack is a long range, rapid-fire arcane bolt that lets you hit enemies from near anywhere without needing to get up close and have them chase you. As they get closer to you, you can switch to your more powerful Flame Breath and finish them that way. This puts the mage well outside of anything's distance, allowing you to pretty much breeze through the game with little effort.
The Cleric, in contrast, has a short-range "volley" that is slow, has a long range Vampirism spell that minorly heals you, and then has two healing abilities that are useless outside a multiplayer game, and even then it's questionable as one is long-range targeted and one is a shockwave-style spell centered on you. But potions are not only plentiful to excess, they are usable at the push of a button, so this pretty much renders the Cleric completely useless.
The Fighter has a very short range basic attack, guaranteeing you will eat a lot of damage from enemies. A longer range attack is a dash that collides into enemies and damages them, which also puts you into strike range for your basic attack... and into their strike range. He does have an ability that reduces damage dealt to him, but it only lasts half as long as it takes for the cooldown to wear off. Now remember how stats are a nonfactor and that you need to power up through the items you equip... this means there is absolutely no compelling reason to play a Fighter in this game when you have the range of the Mage to work with.
The storyline is your basic "go and kill the bad guy masquerading as a good guy" trope. It takes about 10 hours to beat and then because there is no compelling reason to play through with characters other than a mage, this game will remain in your library, sit there and collect e-dust. The replayability is counting on you to be an achievement hunter, to do such mind numbing tasks like collect one million gold, or kill 1,000 enemies in PVP (as of this writing) or level up each class to level 30 (when I finished, I was level 15. This involves basically screwing around and redoing areas in the multiplayer game.) These tasks are more tedious and time-consuming than fun, and are there to basically artificially inflate the playtime of the people who just have to have every achievement unlocked. Since I personally don't give a monkeys about achievements, there is currently nothing bringing me back to this game right now.
It makes for a couple interesting gaming sessions, then you're done and it's on to the next game. It's the Chinese Food of video gaming: Satisfying at first but soon you will be looking for something else.
Do I recommend it? If you have 5 bucks laying around and need something new to do for a couple nights, sure. If you want something of substance, this won't hit that spot. I can't give it a "thumbs middle", so I would have to say considering I have not touched it since I played through to the end, no, I could not recommend it based on that. But YMMV.
Great game, so far I'm really enjoying it! But I think the bosses should be a bit harder to kill. Keep up the work :p
It's a good game, however the co-op multiplayer lacks. I bought as I love dungeon crawler, multiplayer games. This game is very good for that. However, after playing for no more than 3 hours me and my brother have completed the game. Yes, I can still grind for more gear and levels. But, what's the point if there isn't enough players to compete against. I've only seen one other player online, besides myself.
So far its been a great time! Been playing local multiplayer on my cousins account and we dumped a good few hours into it. A fun beat em up with diablo style loot and randomly generated dungeons.
This is a great game but dear god the music is slowly driving me insane @.@ Highly recommend using your own music.
Bought it, installed it, game wouldn't progress past the loading screen, got my refund.
If it gets fixed I'll try it again. Looks like fun.
Good Little game. No frustration jumping in and playing co-op. Just worked, which is a awesome. Cheaper then a movie ticket. 9/10.
3.5 hour into the game in storymode I really think it's alot of fun and recommend it! :D
was just gonna try it really quick before going to bed but I'm hooked.. "I will just do the next boss before I go sleep.... ohh new gear dropped from the boss.. just gonna try that out... etc" :P
I normally don't buy games on release but after watching a clip on youtube I decided to buy it and I'm really happy about that! :D
beeing a fan of games like Realm of the mad God, secret of Mana, Diablo 1, Hero Siege, Super Smash TV, Gauntlet and other isomeric hack and slash dungeon crawlers and twin stick shooters.. I think this game is a great addition to the "family".. it has smooth gameplay, good amount of loot that makes you wanna keep grinding and the story is as it should be: just enough to carry you thru the hacking, slashing and looting and with really clever and funny dialogue! :D love it! looking forward to try it in multplayer also.. I think that playing it with friends and hanging out on Team Speak is where the game will really shine! :D
Buy it! make the community grow! :D yay! <3
