very calming and satisfying. great game for when you are bored of everything else.
I really like how satisfying it is to do really big tricks and get good at the game. As a skier my self, I really took a love to this game.
its a great game i love spending time on it and it can be verry relaxing. The game has beutiful graphiqs
good graphics and good game, very fun
Another game with decent potential, that is ruined by terrible PC controller support, micro-transactions, and an "always online" requirement.
I have many more hours than my playtime here shows from playing back in the day on PS4. Aside from a few occasional hiccups with the PC port, UBI DRM and controller support or HDR shitting the bed, this is still the best snowboarding game for a more sim-like experience aside from Shredders. There are also plenty of more arcade-y, casual challenges, for those sorts of riders. It feels more grounded in real physics and has a GoPro cam as an option while tricking and flipping. I have this and Riders Republic, and I'd still rather do the snow sports in Steep. Do with that information what thou wilt ;)
(wait for a sale)
Fine game, glad I played it. Samey. A lot of the WHAT you do is repetitive, but the HOW has enough variety to be enjoyable at least for a little while.
I recommend you buy it on sale, try it, see if you like it and then get the extra content if you do.
the game is very fun. You can play the game by doing mission in different kinds of areas and countries
absolutley beautiful graphics,
This is the exact kind of game i was looking for and its so fun and easy to sit down and play for a couple of hours
this game, winter chill evening, snowboard and music. nothing cant be better than this combo. Almost Perfect game for chill vibes.
It is fun. I like having multiple items to perfect; skis, snowboard, wingsuit, jetsuit, skydiving, paragliding. I like the challenge and leveling up.
Chill game the only downsides are that it requires the Ubisoft Launcher which sucks, and in general the dlc seems integral to the game because you can blast through the content pretty quick. 6/10
The older this game gets, the more I appreciate it. I keep coming back just to find new and creative ways to freeride down the mountains. While it has its flaws, like occasionally bouncing off objects and a somewhat limited selection of maps and activities, it absolutely nails what it sets out to do. No other game captures the thrill of freely riding down a mountain like Steep.
amzing graphics and gate game play
Awesome graphics!!!! The controls feel really realistic and the graphics are awesome, my favorite extreme sports game I have played. Worth the 30 bucks.
unrealistic buggy and overpriced better off geting shredders, cheaper too
probably the best ubisoft game in a long time. But WHO TF THOUGHT IT WAS A GOOD IDEA TO PUT A DUMBASS G-METER IN A GAME MOSTLY ABOUT TRICKS? And once you empty it your character goes into a 4 hour painful to watch ragdoll+ getting up takes like 20 seconds which is unactepable in the middle of a timed race.
It's quite depressing—wandering a snow-covered mountain repeatedly, doing the same activities repeatedly. It reminds me of The Myth of Sisyphus, yet, strangely, I find myself enjoying it.
probably best sports game i've ever played (fc/fifa's total shit). but no honestly it's really fun and relaxing to play especially with your friends
super fire, boring at first cuz you suck, but it becomes super fun when you don't suck
Fun but this game is so incredibly hard . Some challenges rely more on luck than skill, and many will have you retrying so often that you might feel like throwing your controller in frustration. The difficulty balance feels off in many cases—some medium challenges should be hard, while some hard ones feel more like easy or medium. There also seems to be an overabundance of medium and hard challenges compared to easy ones. Sometimes, you just want to relax and tackle a quick, fun challenge, but outside of free-roaming, those moments are hard to come by.
Ubisoft is dirt. Have to two-factor authenticate yourself to play a single player title in single player mode. You can play "offline" if you want, but have access to no challenges, no in-game music, no nothing. It's basically a freeroam with no content unless you're connected to their servers. It's a fun game when you want to zone out, but every time I buy a Ubisoft game, I'm 100% disappointed with the depth of probing they must do just to enjoy a game. I should be able to fire it up offline and be able to do whatever. Whatever. I knew what I was doing when I bought it.
Didn't think music would be that good, game all around would be an 8/10 for me, after playing it, not just seeing gameplay. Unfortunate that the game does not have achievements.
havent played in years. the ubisoft launcher was the biggest jumpscare ive had ever. 2spooky4me, no thanks, even though i secretly love having launchers installed onto my computer without warning.
Ubisoft and their stupid decisions.
Always-online and forced multiplayer.
What if I just want to do my thing without being interrupted by random people?
Ubisoft is like: We are smarter than you and we know this is what you want and what you need.
Screw you ubi, just go out of business already.
Game is ok if deeply discounted but the Ubisoft launcher is the worst. Also, why aren't there Steam achievements?
Ubisoft is the absolute worst game launcher that has ever existed... As soon as I launched the game for the first time and saw it was Ubisoft, I knew I would have issues. I made an account with the 5 unnecessary steps to play a video game and continued to the loggin screen. Entering the required information and clicking loggin prompts nothing... I restarted my computer, updated my driver, force quit the app multiple times and still nothing. I was excited to play this game but Ubisoft is the biggest buzzkill in the video game industry.
Really good and beautifull game!!! Only thing I hate is the fact the game depends on Ubisoft's service and said servers disconnect me every X minutes which is horrible while in the middle of a event... Other than the servers being absolute garbage I've always loved this game and still love it to this day
Really fun and the graphics are nice 8/10
Captivating at first sight, but gradually monotonous and homogeneous
8/10
Opening
The Alps are one of nature's most amazing creations. Its snow-capped peaks, clad in white, fascinate countless tourists. Its highest peak, Mont Blanc, has long been a popular place for winter outdoor sports such as hiking, mountaineering, and skiing. Unfortunately, due to its geographical location, visitor flow rate, and danger, not everyone has the opportunity and courage to experience its wonders in person. Steep is a game centered on the Alps, and includes famous skiing locations such as Alaska, Japan, and South Korea. It allows players to enjoy the snow-capped mountain scenery and extreme snow sports without any risk. Whether you are engaging in various extreme sports and stunt performances, indulging in the pleasure of death and limits, releasing adrenaline madly; or strolling in this quiet and beautiful winter world, feeling the sunrise and sunset of the snow-capped mountains and the vast natural scenery of white snow, everything is up to the players to choose.
Strength
The game uses an open world as its core gameplay. Players can explore many peaks around the Alps, and they can switch to locations such as Alaska, Japan, and South Korea. Steep focus on advancing through a wide variety of challenges, including performing dazzling stunts and winning applause by demonstrating exquisite operating skills; surpassing yourself in the checkpoint race for precision and speed; experiencing the thrill of brushing against death in a highly dangerous wingsuit flight; enjoying the beautiful natural scenery during a slow and romantic paragliding flight; flying at top speed in a rocket wingsuit flight that is extremely out of touch with reality and maximizes speed and excitement; letting yourself go in the fast and powerful downhill... In addition, players can also experience mountain stories and feel the charm of snow sports and its stories of the Alps according to preset routes.
Steep adopts a large-scale multiplayer online design, and the level is progressive from shallow to deep, easy to difficult. The game's dynamic and outstanding pop music selection, humane and easy-to-grasp operation, and simple yet intuitive interface all bring an excellent gaming experience. Compared to similar games, Steep is not really hardcore or realistic in terms of gameplay. The stunts in the game are not only easy to play, but the penalties for player mistakes are relatively low. Players can even pass levels by coasting after falling down, which is an extremely funny design.
Weakness
Unlike racing games, which can constantly bring players new gaming and visual experiences through different car models and maps, the gameplay of Steep itself is relatively monotonous and homogeneous. The sports equipment available for selection in the game only differs in appearance, with no actual difference in performance. As players spend more time in the game and are immersed in this snowy world for a long time, the initial shock and delight will soon fade away, and aesthetic fatigue is inevitable. In addition to the unreasonable design of the medal standards for some of the game's medium and high difficulty levels, there is also a huge gap in the difficulty of different challenges in the game itself: the stunt performances are obviously easy, while the racing is a bit too difficult. The game itself has very few guiding elements, too. Apart from appearance, level, and challenge results, it also provides very limited positive feedback to players.
Mountain View, which is used to switch the game map of the challenge project, the logic, and perspective dragging are extremely weird, the actual experience is totally awful. Steep also has problems such as the inability to pause ongoing challenges, mandatory internet access to play game content, Ubisoft's terrible online servers, and all kinds of weird game bugs, all of which together greatly ruin the player's gaming experience. Road to the Olympics, a DLC that greatly expands the game's content and gameplay, cannot be purchased directly due to copyright issues and can only be activated again through CDkey.
Conclusion
Although the entry threshold of Steep is very low, it is essentially a game that selects players very much. Due to the highly monotonous and homogeneous gameplay, not everyone can tolerate this kind of environment, and there are only a few players who can truly experience and fully play most of the content in the game.
Even so, Steep can still be regarded as one of the best skiing games on the market today. If you dream of strolling in a virtual Alps snow world and are interested in winter and snow outdoor extreme sports, Steep is definitely worth a try. This work can indeed bring you a good time, even if it may not last long, comes and goes quickly, and it's quite enough for a game originally released in 2016. Of course, if you can accept this kind of game mode and are willing to explore it, then you and Steep are a match made in heaven. The extremely rich challenges will surely bring you endless fun.
At the end of the review, I would like to pay tribute to the following two people: the first is Matilda Rapapor, who was an outstanding freestyle skier, unfortunately, died in an accident while filming a promotional video for Steep in 2016; the second is supercat, a player from China, who experienced the beautiful scenery of the Alps and feeling of freedom through Steep while suffering from illness, but unfortunately passed away later.

Your support is my greatest motivation!
If you're having FPS issues like I was it's because of the Ubisoft overlay. It bugs out when you open it and stays running in the background which causes your FPS to tank to 60 with serious stutters. Even after closing the game and reopening it was still stuttering, you have to completely close out the Ubisoft app. I'm not even surprised anymore.. It's a fun game, so I'll give it a thumbs up but god I wish Ubisoft would sell all of it's assets.
The closest game to an enjoyable snowboard game in modern years. A lot of content is available and other content is seen as available but now inaccessible like Road To The Olympics, which is just so odd.
All in all, great relaxing game, albeit some missions are just so hard its really silly. If we could get a sequel, NOT RIDERS REPUBLIC with finer mechanics and more tricks and parks, there will be something special here along the lines of EA's skate in terms of enjoyment.
Very fun snow sports game. I enjoy it very much and recommend it if your wanting a good snow sports game to play
I would have like to of played this game. But UbiSUCKS had other plans for me. You MUST have an UBISUCKS )Ubisoft) account to play.
I despise Ubisoft so much it hurts they suck as a company and are just I HATE THEM.
So F*&K YOU UBISOFT.
Nah bro... This game is ass.
The way you control your character feels so static (at least on mouse and keyboard).
The keybind for "slowing down" is mapped on "K" like, really? i have to stretch my finger across my keyboard in order to brake. (i know i can just rebind it, but come on).
My biggest gripe with this game for the 29 minutes i played, before i alt+f4'd is the movement and control of your character, it just feels so static and yucky, there's absolutely no fluid movement and it literally made me quit the game.
Cosmetics are nice? what ever, imo not even worth the 5 euro i spent on it. lol.
terrible, cant use controller and bugs out with keyboard and mouse, completely unplayable. also the controls dont even work.
Ubisoft connect is required to play this and its very annoying. I hate Ubisoft so much. I was literally unable to play this game because of their stupid software
Can't play the game anymore because it is "linked to a different account".
- It is in fact the same account.
- I linked my Steam and Ubisoft Connect account again 10 times.
- I asked Ubisoft support and got no answer at all
- They still show me my achievements xp etc. but say I'm not the game owner
This has happened after i bought 8 DLCs. Ghosting someone who paid a lot for this game is crazy asf.
The game is great, but expext Ubisoft to be the worst launcher and people you get to know.
First, create Ubisoft account before buy. Then, install game. There can be problem with create account, and run game without ubisoft account is imposible.
Game is hard to control in game menu and knowing where you are and what to press.
It is labirinth of chaos.
Play game is emmm.. I dont know but I still drive backward on snow.
But ... it is relaxing weird game with some graphics cost 6 euro... why not?

!! MULTIPLAYER DOES NOT WORK !!
Classic ubisoft incompetence. The game itself is good but whatever you do you cant play with your friend. Incompetent game devs, and seemingly no fix for such a simple and upfront bug. Dont support this scum
A game from 2016 that hasn’t been updated in like 4 years has more players online than Star Wars Outlaws
just completed the mount blac game is really fun some rankings should be harder all the dlcs are worth it for the 7 dollars on winter sale idk about normal prices but when you fall it takes a really long time to get up
Steep was a dream for adrenaline junkies—a gorgeous open world where you could snowboard, ski, wingsuit, and paraglide down mountains. The gameplay was smooth, the landscapes were breathtaking, and every run felt like it was ripped from an extreme sports documentary.
But just as things were getting good, Ubisoft left it out in the cold. The updates stopped, the community dwindled, and what could have been a long-term classic became a forgotten gem.
Final Verdict: A great game that deserved better. 8/10, because shredding powder was fun while it lasted.Steep was a dream for adrenaline junkies—a gorgeous open world where you could snowboard, ski, wingsuit, and paraglide down mountains. Its a very fun game. DLCs are all worth it.
i've been wanting to buy this game for 8 years and finally had the chance to. if you like snow sports (or even if you don't) this game is absolutely worth it, and going 300 mph down a mountain in first person is the best feeling ever
Could have been a fun game if Ubisoft just gave a crap about actually making a fun game. But its a bunch of always online, server down, bad UI garbage inbetween cool extreme sports stuff. Its not worth the hard drive space even at $5

ever wanted to feel like youre actually skilled enough and cool enough to ride a snowboard, skis, or fly a wingsuit than this is the game for you. why risk your life to learn a sport to be actually cool when you can sit inside protected by the roof and four walls around you and pretend to be cool i cant say the can is realistic cause ive never done something like this for real other that racing four wheelers 10/10 would double dip
