It's 2147 and the human colony on Europa has suffered a terrible fate. Rebooting after hibernation, two super-intelligent AI cores awake to find themselves installed within a couple of old security drones. Their attempts to uncover what occurred may end up becoming a lower priority than merely surviving...
Lots of robots, lots of lasers, lots of aliens, lots of explosions! The numerous retro arcade influences are front and center, but spiced up with a colorful modern style, a generous helping of sci-fi intrigue, and a dash of RPG ELEMENTS!
- Don't fight alone! Up to 4 players can battle together in local co-op, but you'll always have your trusty (AI-controlled) robo-buddies by your side.
- Story mode sees you battle through a ton of handcrafted levels as you attempt to shed light on the calamity that befell the colony.
- Arcade mode is a straight up arena-shooter, where you battle wave after endless wave of the alien horde.
- Versus mode pits you against up to 3 friends (or AI controlled bots - If your friends are wasting their time doing something other than playing Dual Core).
A gamepad is recommended, but full mouse & keyboard controls (customisable) are available.

bad game
bro programmed a game in assembly and uploaded it to steam 💀💀💀
0/10
Just a small note, Steam says Full controller support, but there is no way to access the settings on gamepad.
Seems fun so far though. There's light lock on, so when fighting dont bnother aiming with the right stick, point at an enemy with the left stick and hold fire to lock on while you dodge bullets.
Also you end up picking up bombs in your inventory, don't forget to use them.
Fun little game, surprisingly nice looking art (despite little things here and there looking bad). And little hiccups that I can see getting annoying like constantly waiting for doors to open, as every room has door that take a second to open and make you stop moving to get through.
For the relatively low price it's quite nice. And importantly, it's comfy to play, not too intense.
Played the campaign mode a little bit with keyboard & mouse and first impressions are good.
Both combat and movement feel a bit sluggish but there are upgrades for speed & laser so I guess it's by design. Hopefully it'll get better as I progress...
Despite several upgrades, Corby died several times during the campaign while my bot never did. Seems like Corby's AI is not good at evading enemy fire and the health regen (at Level 3) works soooo slow.
The interruptions due to the numerous messages left by (late?) Dr. Lauren Franke are too frequent and repetitive and having to wait & read them while they are displayed slowly in typewriter style hinders the flow of the story. Furthermore, most of those messages don't add much to the story or help you in any way. But I still feel compelled to read them because what if that's one of the rare messages that actually gives you useful info...
Also there are no settings for the graphical options (resolution, Vsync, etc.) which is odd. Seems like Vsync is on by default or the framerate is capped at 60fps.
This is a really good, yet strangely unkown, twin stick shooter. And I honestly can't see the reason why there is not much hype for this game. The graphics are well done handdrawn style with appealing effects layed all over it, the music is good and pumping and apart from very few ones missing here and there even the sound effects are quite good. The controls are perfectly responsible. There are only very few times when you get stuck on a corner and that's nothing that can't be flattened out by upgrading your robots speed so it can run and turn faster.
The game itself is split into three parts. Not only can you immerse yourself in an intruiging story mode featuring many big maps full of enemies, hidden corners, traps and even little riddles to solve. Furthermore there also is an arena style arcade mode with highscore system added and a versus mode. So there is a lot to do here too for up to four players simultaneously in online or couch coop mode.
What I personaly did like most about the game is he addition of an NCP in the form of an accompanying robot that you've got to rescue in the beginning of the story mode. He will actively play through the game with you helping in battles and coop riddles. He even talks to you about the ongoing story, how well you do in the game or minor level details he likes or dislikes. He even thanks you when you decicide to install your possible upgrades into it's metal frame instead of yours. How charming is that?
In my oppinion this game is totally worth it's price tag in every regard. You won't be disappointed buying this. And if you're still curious, just try the free demo. You got nothing to loose but a few couple of hours and you most likely won't regret it.
WHat appears as a cute overhead co-op shooter reveals itself to be a mediocre game. I mean it's okay for an hour or two. Pay 1 or 2$ for it, not more.
Also it features a few bugs including getting damage from absolutly nothing?
i'll vote a positive on it because its a good effort, but it's sloppy
The game is excellent fun if you like quick and easy gameplay with puzzles and sci-fi shooters. The only problem with the game is that in multiplayer it shows you can have 4 players but only allows for 3, must be a bug.

I bought this game looking for something short and fun. My interest was in the single-player storyline. And I enjoyed playing it. I divided my skill points between me and my ai companion corby.
The only problem I had with the storyline was when I got to the last couple levels of the game. The game decided to have the enemies infinitely spawn in some areas. Up until that point I had enjoyed thoroughly clearing out the levels, collecting the crates, and reading the story messages. But when I got near the end, the enemies seemed to never stop spawning. I started to lose my desire to fight, and started just running past all the enemies. I looked this game up on youtube, and I discovered that I had actually quite playing on the last level.
But up until that point, I had fun. I'm sure there are people out there that enjoy being under non-stop assault. But I tend to be slow and thorough when I play games.
A fun romp, especially in co-op. A lot of action, a dash of RPG and a sci-fi post-humanity story tie it all together in a neat package that is supported by a very responsive and attentive developer.
I'm clearly not much of a gamer -- my grandkids whup up on me and laugh about it. However, Dual Core is just a really fun time. Good story line attached to nearly continuous action, a bit of a puzzle here and there and a variety of challenges. The graphics are exceptional. At first, I found it a bit awkward to quickly shift in the various weapons using the hand controller, but I think that's a personal problem. A hardcore enthusiast might plow through much of this game in a few intense hours, but for the rest of us, Dual Core provides a lot of hours of just plain fun exploring the site while banging away at evil robots with lots of inventive weapons. I highly recommend this game!
I canot launch the games and steam say i continue to play at the game. I delet the game and we wouldent give me the money
I think this game is a good local coop game not sure how it is online yet as that is still in beta. You can level up your bot by collecting the green gems also you can level up teammates also instead of just leveling up yourself. The game has a local versus mode and it also has a horde style arcade mode. The main reason I bought this game is becuase it has a demo and I tried the demo with my 6 year old and he seemed to like it. I know we can return games on steam now but I don't like having to purchase then return games I'd much rather have demos so I think that is a nice positive from this developer.
I only found this game because of the wii u version, i bought it on both wii u, and on steam, i suggest also porting it to ps vita, and ps3/ps4 i'd buy it gladly on all platforms for the cost of only $10 each. I greatly like the sound of this game with online multiplayer as this is the only limiting factor of this game in my opinion. I personally have friends i have come over or i bring my laptop and plugin ps4 & xbox one controllers into the pc then hdmi it out to a big screen when i go to friends places, This game is fun dont get me wrong, just it currently in its state demands you take extra steps like i have to have a multiplayer experience.
As for the gameplay..
Pros:
- Fun (for just $10? cant beat it)
- Graphics are easy on the eyes, its a "Unique" mech genre (Remember that mech game on toonami on web browser called Lockdown? Greatly reminds me of this game minus the turn based and more real time this time)
- Reminds me of bullet storm in its own respects
- Has a unique and interesting storyline
- Small install size (only 103-104mb =0 )
- Upgrading system, and in solo game-mode you have a AI partner corby + bots you pickup in the 4th stage and onwards
- Online based multiplayer on Steam build is out! (Its in beta though, will update review when more information about how stable it is is available, what is known though, is that multiplayer is story mode capable, draw backs are can't start a match in MP till after a player joins, and no drop in/drop out support in a game, "Yet")
- Soundtrack is now purchaseable!! Check out the news! ( http://steamcommunity.com/app/456830/allnews/ )
Cons:
- AI support bots you summon when they die they disappear, taking along with them the upgrade points you invested in
- A tad bit of a hassle with out proper button mapping but its okay for on pc default button mapping (I personally switch between my dualshock 3, dualshock 4, xbox 360 and xbox one controller though to thwart this issue)
I really enjoy this game. Enough RPG-like elements to keep it interesting, but simple enough that even my kids can co-op with me. Fun and intense arcade and PvP modes also. Definitely worth my monies.
Also, the music !!
The visuals of this game is really what got me interested in the first place. Lovely hand crafted stylish art that all works together beautifully. The top-down look brings me back to the Amiga days but with a much more modern look that takes advantage of modern computers. Personally I don't have much experience with game play in the genre so I can't give too much helpful feedback on difficulty or progression. I first played arcade mode and it felt like the pace and increase in difficulty was well thought through not engaging the player in too long sessions so it's fun to chase new highscores. I only had time to quickly try story mode so I'm looking forward to play further into the story as soon as time allows. I was playing with mouse and keyboard but I think I'll have to bring back my controller that my friend has borrowed so I can test it out with dual stick =)
First impressions, this a good fun game. It's fairly simple to play, no complicated controls (I use mouse and keyboard, but I understand it's designed for controllers). I've only played single player so far, but I'll let the kids loose on this tommorow for some local coop and update review then. So far so good.
