One of the most boring racing games I have played till now. Not worth playing.
I cannot fully recommend this game but its not abysmal either... Play this game and read this review if you are a patient gamer... :)
Pros:
=================================================
1) Decent graphics
2) Good sense of speed
3) Arcade gameplay (if you are into that)
4) New gameplay concept (at release) -
knock sh1+ over = get points, redeem points for nitrous, unused nitrous reduces lap time
5) Quite a few cars to choose from but the tuning isn't that great
Cons:
=================================================
1) Keyboard Controls stink, when not on rails, drifting is terrible (Maybe you need a racing wheel)
2) Nitrous effects / screen shaking makes it hard to see objects to hit
3) Terrible circular menu makes it hard to find the tracks you want
4) No story, just races and no order so you have no clue what to do
5) Randomly takes you to different tracks and hard to find the last race if you want to re-race
6) Short game.... its even shorter once you figure out WTF you are supposed to do
7) Best cars unlock towards the end and you can only use those to win races. This forces you to replay tracks if you are a completionist. Otherwise no replay value/motivation
One of the main reasons I'm writing this review is that hopefully the next poor soul in the future might get an idea of what tracks/areas there are to race..

As you can see I've clocked 18+ hours on this game and I can tell you that this game is a mix of fun & frustration. The racing is very arcade-like and really feels like you are on rails 90% of the time. The times you are not, you will crash and burn and the drifting mechanics are hit or miss. Well not really 'burn' but the crash brings you to a grinding halt and putting your car in reverse feels like an eternity and you lose precious time getting your car back on track. You can press "R" to reset your car but that takes equally long.
The way you rack up points is by knocking objects over - cones, dividers, lighting strips and barricades etc. The points collected can be redeemed for nitrous. Any points not used at the end of the race help to reduce your time. This is the only novel idea.
The concept of nitrous though is just like any other racing game (eg: Need for Speed). This however will give you a serious case of blurry eyes, after experiencing the rather stupid contrived and disorienting screen shaking the faster you go. #WhyDevsWhy ??? it would have been so much more enjoyable without it... OR at least a menu option to disable it...I really feel bad for folks who feel nauseous when paying FPS/racing games. (Please do not play this game for this reason. You will find yourself cleaning up after yourself instead of taking your competition to the cleaners!!)
This game is a prime example of why people give up any game so quickly. The UI for all the menus is absolutely abysmal and I have no clue WTF I am doing. After each race it seems to randomly take you to the next one. There is absolutely no order to the racing. If they had static menus and areas to pick from you could easily go back and re-race. They have the circular menu system and all the tracks gave generic forgettable names which are confusing so you have no idea what you raced or where you are in the menu.
In the menus, each race has a picture of the track/scenery and a graphic at the bottom right to show you your status on the track
1) Didn't win top 1/3 positions - No graphic
2) Top 3 but didnt beat time - Yellow/gold check Mark
3) Timed results - Gold/Silver/Bronze Trophies
These indicators are the only thing that give the game any semblance of order or what the heck you are to do. With the above here are the tracks. You can play them in any order. Good luck trying to find the track you last raced without the above list.. :)
After you grind through the above you get the "Careerist" achievement. Congrats! Now go play something else!

It looks good from the screenshots, but that's it. Game is poorly optimized, fps drops even on my rtx 2060. I like the cars, they are basically real cars but the dev put his own names on them ( I guess it has something to do with money ).
The effects are horrible to say the least. I like the flamethrower-like nitrous, but the screen effects will make you go blind if you use it too much, especially if you got motion blur enabled. The cars don't really steer left and right, as long as you try it the car will start drifting, but I guess it's to be expected since this is not a sim.
While I don't have a real problem with this game or even really dislike it, it's just so goddamn bland and devoid of any real creativity, inspiration or originality, that I can hardly recommend it to anyone but racing-game-collectors/enthusiasts, that would play pretty much every working title anyway. Because a "working" car racing game, although there are some technical errors and illogical decisions to say the least, is the most accurate description of "Ignite" I can think of right now: It works, well, most of the time, and it's a car racing game, but that's it, really.
No fun physics based crashing, stunts or challenges, no real authentic simulation, no killer soundtrack to blast while you drive in real life, no crazy map variety or shocking lack thereof. 5 hours were okay, there was some challenge and I guess it was a slightly above average as a gaming experience, but if you aren't desperately looking for a older, bargain and bare-boned racing game, this isn't it. 5-6/10
Ignite is arcade racing game with outdated graphics, FPS are dropping as hell, it lacks 1440p support, it's relatively easy (but you need to fight for your position quiet hard sometimes) and it's fun. Fun! What else do you need from a game for 10 €?
+ great sensation of speed
+ original and fun score and turbo system
+ fun drifting
+ cool looking cars
- a bit on the short side (less than 4 hours to beat the campaign), but has tons of replay value for sheer fun alone and if you want to get Gold Trophies in every race
Recommended if you want short fun rides. It's nice to play a couple of races when you only have a few mins to yourself.
it's not the best racing game but not the worst either.
pure arcade, crappy handling and mediocre graphics.
i will blame the devs for an idiotic design decision on the menu colors though - i never know whether yellow or white text marks the selection, mostly 2-choice selections won't help either.
Looks ugly like a game from 2004. Thatdoesnt have to be bad but the fiorst time i bought it it didnt start whatever i trie, delete and re-install nothing worked.
It plays like a fun arcade game but it looked so ugly that i looked or its resolution setting was still 1920x1080. After i wnet back al my tracks i and cars i earned were gone so i have start all over again.
In the end. Fun gameplay for a simple arcade racer but old ugly graphics, untested on market and looses your won races
Nice arcade racing. Difference betveen basics is that it doesn't matter if you come 1st place. You need to collect points in different ways (drafting, drifting, hitting obects etc..)
Tracks are ok and graphics are quite nice for my drunken eye atleast. When using nitro, you really feel the speed. Screen keeps shakin a bit and goes blurry. Different kind of races, knock-outs and stuff. Haven't tried multiplayer yet.
2001 called, they want their game back.
No but seriously, this game feels old, drives old and acts old. This is an example of how lots of bloom, blur and whatever post-processing effects you can think of does not make a better looking game.
It took me 5 times before the game finally accepted my 1680x1050 resolution, and it took me twice to just set the controller as the device used.
You might like the incredibly arcade gameplay and the usage of points either as a nitro or as a time bonus, but to me it was more of an annoyance than enjoyable. The usage of points as a nitro or time bonus is an refreshing way to race, but in the end it means that everything that is done on track is pointless.
Also the game kept bitching about how i should use nitro. Yes, i knew how to use it but chose not to use it, isn't that what this game was about? Yet it kept pointing out to press a certain button to use nitro.
Overall, it is an mediocre game that would have worked 14 years ago and it feels like they took a game from then, put on lots of post-processing effects and decided to resell it as a new game. Which makes me think, they might have just done that.

Functional basic racing car game! :3

I'd really like to recommend this, but I just can't. If you're into arcade-style racing games this is pretty fun, but be warned that there are some major flaws in the game design.
1. The unlocking system is hopelessly illogical. You'll unlock events that you'll need a race car to have a reasonable chance at winning before you ever have an opportunity to unlock a race car.
2. The game does not react to nor restrict your car selection. As such, most of the events cease to be challenging at all once you've unlocked a better car.
3. Rubber-band AI that reacts to your score. This may sound neat in principle, but in practice it means that racking up several thousand points to earn a larger time bonus will result in the computer-controlled cars getting impossible speed increases and streaking off into the distance. This becomes even more ridiculous if you're driving a fast car with a setting that gives you a lot of extra points: You can be boosting constantly and still never catch up to people on the track, even though you'll "pass" them by several seconds after accounting for your time bonus.
4. Broken bonus mechanics for certain cars. If your car gives you a 50% point bonus for doing something, you'll have those points added to the score as you do the trick, then ANOTHER 50% of that already inflated value after the trick is completed. With some end-game vehicles that offer 150% bonuses for drafting, it's possible to rack up 8000 points before the first corner, which will result in the AI overreacting to your score in the way I described above.
5. There is *ZERO* online community for this game. As such, unless you can convince several friends to get the game and set up a server, you're not going to get those achievements or be able ot mess around online.
6. Controller issues. The XBOX controller is treated in a generic fashion, resulting in semi-unhelpful tooltips telling you to press "JOYBUTTON0" to boost or "JOYBUTTON4" to match another car's speed. It also seems you have to explicitly go into the menu and tell the game that you intend on using a controller before it will respond to that input at all. Bizarrely, pause is permanently bound to the controllect's "Back" button.
7. Engrish. A minor nit-pick, but still worth mentioning. It doesn't look like they had anyone proofread the tutorial
Looks clean and nice (though a bit bland), and the racing is servicable, with the concept of sacrificing extra seconds for boost being interesting but not very well implemented. Handling is quite loose, as you drift just by turning. Overall a good game for such a small studio and worth the 99 cents for an hour's entertainment or so
It is pretty easy but still a fun game to waste a couple of hours. And it was cheap as fuck. Multiplayer is dead, which is a shame, would have been fun to try it out. =)
A pretty good Arcade Racer, excellent for the price of $0.99 that I paid for it.
Even plays well with the Xbox 360 controller.
Essentially an Indie Burnout. Car selection is practically non existent but knowing the budgets of these small studios, it's not an issue since the game is fun and more importantly, keeps you playing. Multiple modes with an interesting strategical mechanic of applying your Burnout points towards your final time. 99 cents.
This is a great little racer. Nothing special except solid cars, good handling, and stupid AI. Really makes me feel good inside to win every race because the computer is so stupid. Play it if you like racing games and want to boost your self-esteem.
This is only 69p in the sale and I like it. I suspect it's going to get comedically difficult as the career progresses but I like the risk / reward of the boost system being converted to time at the end. This means that being conservative with the boost can help you win the race even if you are not first across the line. Gameplay-wise, it feels like Flatout, if not quite as good as Bugbear's classic racing games.
all in all a great racing game. alot of just holding nitro and going thru noce cars worl resembles a old time race game or osomething. i would say though if you like racing games this would fit the bill.
Put your Pedal to the Metal for this one ladies and gentleman, here's a nice little racing gem for you in the form of IGNITE, this is part of the summer sale for a whoppin' $2.50...and its well worth the value
Definitely an arcade racer @ heart with an emphasis on drifiting a la ridge racer, this game has a real excellent sense of speed, when you hit the nitro, your going to go fast....very, very fast.
It also tries to be a destructive racer, which for all intensive purposes...isn't really all that destructive, your car does trade paint and you see some scratches and scuff marks on the car but it never really gets damaged to the point where you need to pit stop or their isn't any cinematic crashing that the burnout franchise is famous for, unless maybe these options come to you further into the game as more stuff is unlocked
The game looks great and runs smooth, also has achievements and multiplayer...definitely worth checking out
DO NOT BUY THIS GAME!!
I regret big time buying this game, the driving is like driving an ice cube. The graphics not good at all on maxed specs. Same as a Java game. Also not as fast as you think and is pure terrible, I regret big time buying this game,
