very fun, game got this of DanTDM i have been wanting this for years, and i finally got it, defo worth it
Love it, only complaints really is that I wish we didnt need a mod for the coaster cam, also it's a little easy once you know what to do. There's pretty much a 0% chance I go bankrupt now, so any park just booms right away with popularity but it's still fun to design the park and watch people explore it.
That good ol RCT feel with a modern look. Great game if youve played RCT back in the day. Nice and relaxing game. You can really get lost for hours just messing around. 10/10
Best Theme Park simulator since Roller Coaster Tycoon. If you are familiar with RCT you'll be able to understand the systems pretty much immediately. Although, customers appreciate calm rides in the game more and theres a new system where your shops need to be stocked by employees. You will need to find creative ways to hide these activities from guests to keep them happy.
Not the most ambitious but maybe the best overall successor to RCT2. It's still grid based for the old school feel but looks amazing. Great art style and endless custom assets. Amazing dev team and community.

A really good management simulation. And the workshop integration provides almost unlimited content.
If you enjoyed the Roller Coaster Tycoon 1 and 2 games, you'll love this.
It's the natural progression of that specific implementation of theme park management genre. Whilst the default camera is isometric, the game is fully 3D.
The game adds additional management systems from the series it drew heavy inspiration from. These systems, slot nicely into the game play you'd be familiar with. Mechanically it encourages you to think more about decoration as visitors don't want to see the eldritch abomination of staff buildings and such like - you'd build pretty buildings or barriers to hide the "unsightly" things.
Coaster design allows for more complexity.
The campaign mode has moments which punish you harshly for not engaging with key mechanics. But that's less awful since you have the ability to fast forward. So compared to RCT1/2 it's not like you spent all afternoon slowly waiting to fail. I've completed all the campaign maps and I don't feel like any of the maps felt unfair. I simply needed to focus more on the objectives.
If you want to build cashless sandbox or cashful sandbox, you have that option.
My **only** criticism is that I'm not fond of the design aesthetic of the guest. But it's a low criticism because the game-play makes up for this.
I'm sure there's things I like which I've forgotten. Overall, if you loved RCT1/2, you'll very much love this game.
If you never play any theme park management game, I think you might also enjoy this.
Parkitect has some serious nostalgia vibes, but it absolutely stands on its own as a major player in the genre. It has absolutely devoured my time without me even realising it. It’s the type of game that naturally leads the player to set smaller, incremental goals for themselves and always have something to look forward to. It could be attracting the next batch of park-goers, or saving up enough money to build the next big coaster — either way, something good is hopefully on the horizon.
There are plenty of rides – both roller coasters and non-coaster attractions – to choose from. In terms of coasters, there are also plenty more available on the Steam Workshop, made by community members. The best part is, it’s possible to browse the Workshop while in-game, add something, and then use it almost instantly. I was completely prepared to save, reboot the game, and then place down the new coaster. Nope! A small pop-up let me know that the new blueprint was ready to use shortly after I had “subscribed” to it on the Workshop.
Some additional non-ride content would be appreciated - more stores and stalls to place. Also perhaps a greater focus on some more of the 'softer' rides or attractions would add more of a realistic flare to our parks.
I don't need more than 26hrs of game play to say this game is awesome! All the reviews that say this is like the old classic game of Roller Coaster Tycoon are correct. This is just like that game but better! One thing I will say is... where the hell is the water slide???? I hope this is coming or someone adds a mod for it.
A very underappreciated spiritual successor to Chris Sawyer's classic RollerCoaster Tycoon series. While Parkitect may lack the visuals and design precision of similar titles like Planet Coaster, its intuitive yet powerful grid-based construction system allows beginners and experts alike to create imaginative, stylistically cohesive parks using a wide selection of rides, shops and props. It also features innovative guest immersion and park management mechanics, a variety of scenarios and challenges, and excellent Workshop support. One of the best games in its genre to date.

Parkitect is a great successor to RollerCoaster Tycoon 1 and 2. It improves from RCT by adding resource management and has endless ways to be creative in building rides and theme parks. The game is also challenging in the different scenarios you have to compete. If you loved RollerCoaster Tycoon you will love partitect.

As many have said before me, this game is very reminiscent of the old Rollercoaster Tycoon I and II games. It's relaxing and just plain fun. The menus are also a lot like RCTs, so you'll feel right at home. One thing I do really, really miss is an undo feature...
I waited for one of the major sales and bought all of the DLC and the base game in a big pack. I love having all of the different scenery and theming options.
Tip if you're having trouble with vandals: Don't worry about security guards. Vandals wear face masks. Simply pause the game, and look for people wearing backwards hats and face masks. When you find one, ban them from your park. You can see in the active reports how many are left to remove!
I highly recommend checking out the workshop and seeing/downloading all of the really cool rides fellow players have built!
Great implementation for someone who used to play RCT and was looking for a more modern version of that game (which also runs on Mac)
Truly a perfect successor to Roller coaster Tycoon 2. I love all the new theme park sims coming out but part of me had always missed the old school style of RCT 1 and 2. Parkitect does exactly that while adding new features that the super-modern park sims have. It is the perfect blend of old-school and new-school and is my favorite in the genre by far.
Great game and has amazing graphics.

[td]I haven’t played many sandbox/management games, but I have to say this one is probably my favorite in terms of enjoyment. I have played games like this to a degree, like for example Project Hospital (highly recommend btw), but Parkitect just seems much more relaxed, and easier to understand. Also the amount of creativity you have in this game is simply incredible. The amount of information you are giving is fantastic, and it’s really well organized to a point where it doesn’t really feel overwhelming, and is super helpful. G force meters for rides, statistics about your guest like hunger, thirst, happiness, sickness, etc. Able to create zones to make it easier for staff to focus on specific areas, and much more. Designing rides is also super easy with little to no difficulty. You can also create your own blueprints so you can save and place them on different maps. That even goes for scenery objects and buildings too! On top of that, you can use the Steam Workshop to use other people's creations so you don’t have to spend all that time making your own if you want. The fun factor is just so high. The amount of freedom given to you is so amazing. Seeing your park grow and expand is an addicting feeling and never really gets old. One of the best features in this game is the 8 player coop. Yes! You can play with other friends and create your ultimate theme park together! The only true issues I have with this game is that you can only rotate items 90 degrees. It’s pretty frustrating since I would like to move logs and other objects in a specific way to make some spots look more natural. Also you can’t edit items once you place them. Like let’s say you want to change the color of some walls or the roof of a shop you made, you have to delete that wall and replace it. It’s dumb and they should add an edit mechanic for items to change the color or placement at any time you want. Besides those issues, this game is absolutely fantastic and so fun.[/td]

Feels like a spiritual successor to the RCT series.
The main downside is the inability to view things in first person; it's really hard to see past objects at times, and you can't ride the rides. There could also be more customization.
That said, the campaigns are varied in a way that's encouraged me to try different strategies instead of relying on a few of the same items, and I've been really enjoying it overall.
Brings back memory from my childhood with ThemePark, ahhhhh I feel young again with my life open and full of dreams and hopes... anyway, love the game
This game is a modernized rollercoaster tycoon that you can play cooperatively.
There is no quick undo button, for that reason it's immediately put me off. I just needed to replace some ugly path for a new path, delete the run and it deleted all the bins, decoration, lights etc.. rage quit. done. I'll delete it now.
I'm sure it's a great game, but a basic UNDO/REDO button (in terms of features, not coding) is ESSENTIAL for a game where a delete mistake can take half your park with it! A game where you need to line up small items etc, a quick bit of Terra-forming can create an accidental MOUNTAIN.
I come from an age of TTD, Theme Park etc.. where mistakes were easily rectified.
One of the best parts of this game is watching tiny persons bounce along as they walk different places, and often while holding some kind of soda or hot dog, and also sometimes wearing something silly or carrying a neon green umbrella (or some other color of your choosing). You can also witness them screaming in joy or terror, barfing, or behaving poorly by bashing things up and littering.
Also, the side-game - building some kind of amusement park for them - is very simple and straightforward. There are big prop menus, but everything just kinda goes together without the narrative having to teach you how to reproduce the Manhattan Project, or the process by which the First Wheel was designed and built however that mythical event is supposed to have taken place... This game is like a box of odd shaped toys that fit together in some way that a child might figure out. That is high praise out of me who all the time overheats my brain thinking of the Big Things here, and maybe on behalf also of what weary soul might be reading this and longing for something simple and fun.
Try it, it's great. My favorite park has a beach coaster with a big neon purple sign telling everyone it's called Skate or Die. It goes in a little loop 4 or 5 times and is just the chillest thing ever for those tiny peeps who might need something chill to perfect their little simulated experience ; )
Shit makes me combust and bust, back to back
I've loved RollerCoaster Tycoon 1 and 2 ever since I was a kid, and this game captures that exact feeling, but with a 3D perspective, a beautiful sort of mid-poly & low-textured art style, smooth build tools, and some incredibly fun scenarios. I absolutely recommend this game to anyone who loves theme park builders.

I'm going to rate this game like the game rates me. I'm going to say my "experience" is far below any of the ratings. I won't say what "experience" is based off and then say it is too low for a good score.
Played for 8 hours my first time playing. I am sure it fits my personality or whatever, but this game simply feels great and is so easy to enjoy from the start. The campaign mode is very fun.

Very similar to classic RollerCoaster Tycoon but with Planet Coaster's freedom of design. The scenarios are pretty fun and Workshop support is good for some great designs if you're not good at making things, like I certainly are not good at.

learning is "so far, so good" on the demo. Now that i've watched somebody else play, I'll need to purchase full copy while on sale, i'll try myself...i may need to purchase dlc...."so far, so good"
It's very close to RT series but this goes back to the roots and enhances them, visually, logistically and creatively. I like it!
garbage path building system, especially underground
if you like classic rct this is a no brainer. Some thingds I would change though
1/ the annoying cost info of the item is wayyyy too close to the selection cursor....makes it almost impossible to see small items
2/ changing brolly colours needs to change them on the store visually
3/ placing something like a tree or rock in the middle of a coaster track is simply ignored....there should be SOME collision detection.
there are a few more but overall positives really outweigh negatives....and with mods and the ability to upload your creations, gives the game TONS of lastability. Oh and the community is awesome!!

Built a nice mass grave outside the coaster that caused 8 deaths then ran and AD campaign for the ride to boost it's sales during the dip. It stayed the most popular ride in the park. 8 graves/10 would dig 2 more again.
Great game if you like Rollercoaster Tycoon. But the loan system is STUPID. The montly payment you make for you loan, is NOT the repayment of the loan, it's a monthy loan fee and it's huge. You need to manually repay the loans separately with your profits. In other words: if you don't repay your loan manually, you'll pay loan, the mentioned loan fee, forever. However the monthy loan fees are so high, that it makes making profit difficult. I learned about this the hard way. Read about its terrible loan system before you buy the game. This game should be a park management sim, not Terrible Loan Simulator. The other aspects of the game I really like, it's akin to the first two Rollercoaster Tycoon games, so I recommend it, with a bitter aftertaste.
One of the very best theme park games out there! So much fun and the building part is really user friendly. I am excited to play each and every time I start my game!

This game is fun. I like how it feels like a more modern version of the classic RollerCoaster Tycoon games. I do have a few gripes, like sometimes it's confusing to get shops restocked and the water rides such as swan boats act weird if you don't give them enough space on the ends of the station. It would be nice if they made them like the original RCT games where you'd add track segments to guide the boats where you want them to go. Some other minor nitpicks would be the UI is not very flexible and feels dated in areas. I think this is kind of the goal, though, so it's not the end of the world. Overall a great game. I love that the rides are responsive to weather.
The true successor to RCT 1 & 2, with numerous refinements/improvements. Fans of the old isometric building style will feel right at home, except you are no longer limited to four isometric angles and can now fully rotate the camera 360°. New mechanics like supplying shops, staff rooms, and decoration ratings all add to a more rewarding park building experience. Old mechanics from RCT have also been improved, such as being able to create more detailed staff patrol zones, or seeing the little soul that leaves a guest's body when you drown them.
If you've ever played Roller Coaster Tycoon, out of all the theme park builders I've played, this game feels the most similar to a true successor to Roller Coaster Tycoon. It's got everything you could want from a theme park builder, and it's honestly very accessible. There's no mandatory time limits on your parks in campaign mode, as all time limits are optional. This is very important as it allows you to play the game the way you like to play and spend as much time as you need on each park. The scenarios are varied and well-thought out, resulting in each park feeling at least somewhat different than the rest. There's a lot of different features for building that can allow you to get very creative with your builds, and the coaster designer is both simple and fun to work with. The only major flaw in the game that keeps it from being a perfect score for me is that there's no Coaster Cam like in RTC3, but that can be fixed by downloading a mod.
Totally satisfies that Roller Coaster Tycoon itch/nostalgia. Thumbs up for me.
This game provides plenty of nostalgia-fueled hours, building roller coasters with such high g-forces that could snap a person in two. Totally recommended.
