Didn't get very far on this one. Honestly it's just tedious, empty and not at all fun.
In general, this is more of yes than no, but it's relatively bland game.
Puzzle don't require much thought, you won't be stuck anywhere. There is a few laughs, but toilet humor gets old quick. There's no voice acting and some of the achievements, if you care about those, are a chore.

Wow what can I say this was an absolute AMAZING game!! It was a totally classic P&C adventure in every way possible. Lots of locations and characters, a few puzzles and TONS & TONS of hot-spots, all with tongue n cheek commentary, plus there's definitely a story here. I could name drop.. For example Monkey island including some of the puzzles being a mix of clever and at times frustrating. There extra hidden objects in each location without hot-spots which are cookies which grant you hints. There are THOUSANDS of lines of dialog, but it's never too much. The level of humor including off color, toilet and juvinile humor is off the charts. It's never cheesy, ALWAYS HILARIOUS!!! I found myself literally laughing out loud at much of the hysterical dialog!!! If I had to complain, it would be that some of the puzzles involving the use of an object or combining objects were slightly ridiculous and were a bit of a stretch, but that's in the minority. Overall I really enjoyed this game very much and I truly hope for a sequel or maybe something in the same universe or at least more games from this creative, gifted and very funny developer.
Unexpectedly funny!
I really laughed my ass off.
Really just mediocre. Bland and unfunny dialogue, and feels like a chore to play.
It's not terrible and I appreciate how it feels like a one-man job.
Said that, I really didn't like (and even despised) the characters and their art style.
A mediocre point and click game filled with toilet humor. You play as 20 something antique shop owner who hasn't matured past first grade who gets involved with murderous plunderers who try to raid a Middle Eastern secret to find unbelievable treasure who has a crush on his next door bimbo neighbor who's still better because she's kind and her "special" child bordering on autism (who's mostly insufferable because the main characters are idiots).
The big issue with the game is that there's nothing to keep the player invested in the game. The plot has dozens of holes, and nothing really engages me in the treasure murder mystery plot. The art is indifferent. The 48 game unique game over endings aren't fun to find and is annoying to try to get (thank god cowcat's other game Brok the investigator doesn't have this). Playing as a ignorant buffoon who refuses to read can be fun to watch but is hardly engaging as the main playable character.
This game also actually has so much toilet humor if you want 100% completion you have to endure all of it.
Oh and the title? Barely relates to game outside an in game reference. Nothing related to Demetrius, Latinzaed form of the devotees of the Greek Goddess Demeter. Nothing Cynical. Certainly big if you also want to spend 8 hours like me completionist because you strive for it too.
If you're like me, you bought this because you loved Brok the Investigator. And if you did, this is Cowcat Game's much earlier much worse first work. You can see a lot of the game engine and narrative input from Brok here, and that's the only reason you might play it. You can also see the many improvements Brok made to this, from having achievements easier to accomplish, hiring outside to design characters while the in-house staff continues those pleasant backgrounds, etc.
The only reason I grinded 8 hours through this is because I have a habit of trying to completionist all my games and was such a fan of Cowcat's other game Brok the Investigator and got this bundled together. I suppose a good thing is that nothing in the game was so bad it repulsed me away. Besides a few toilet humor scenes, there was nothing awful.
If you still want to try to this game, take my advice, begin with all the toilet humor and try to grind through the game in no more than 2. It's still a decent point and click and The game has been streamed in under two hours. Otherwise prepare to grind around 8 hours playing throug the game 2.5 times like me for achievements. In all, the big bad thing is it's not good but not bad either.
