A serious gem with some nice modern touches
Espectacular RPG, el arte es tremendo, se juega perfectamente, ojala los comics salieran mas seguido, hay una linda historia aca
good
Very nice game, I love it. The characters are great, so the music and the graphic!
4/5 stars
Solid game, takes a bit long to "start" but I love the world, I want to go back.
It's a little game brim with charming art style.
That enough for me.
This is my first finish turn base RPG so can't comment much on gameplay.
But for me it worth the price.

So, I've finally finished the very first playthrough of the game, since it's designed for double play, regular and then new game +, which I'm gonna do I think so.
It's really good game, not anything amazing, too simple, too repetitive with sometimes awful RNG stuff, but it's amazing to chill with and I'm had that, also really good soundtrack.

Good story, huge potential for sequels, sadly with a cliffhanger for now, hoping for a sequel to come.
To end this review, I'd rate this between solid 7 and a strong 8.
I enjoyed it, finished the game in 59h.
Enjoy, have fun!
PS. Have played and tested the game on the Steam Deck OLED.
Fantastic game!
While i did enjoy this game overall, i can only barely recommend it. The main two issues i had with the game are the balance and the story.
Lets get the good things out of the way first. The art is fantastic and the gameplay is pretty good. I am not really a fan of turn based games, but i did enjoy this. The game is full of creative ideas and interesting mechanics. The overcharge mechanic is something i really like.
Now the bad. Firstly, the story is almost non-existent. You get a brief introduction and then get dumped into the game. From there you get about 1 story beat per hour. (assuming you dont need to go grind, which you will.) The story basically exists to give you a reason to go to point A to point B. The plot line is competent enough, which makes sense considering its based on a comic. But there is almost no character moments at all. The only real time characters interact with each other is when you rest at the town, but there is only about 10 of these moments in total throughout the entire game. Overall it feels like they just did not know how to incorporate the story into this game, and it ends up feeling very tacked on.
Now the balance. This game suffers from severe difficulty spikes and just generally awful balance of enemies. I did not struggle with any mandatory bosses in the entire game except for the final boss which kicked my ass. But there was some random enemies you would find in dungeons or in the overworld that i was scared to fight even when i was 1 or 2 levels higher than them. But the absolute worst part was the grind. You are basically required to do every dungeon twice in order to keep up, otherwise you will end up under leveled for everything.
I did still like this game, but it did leave me very frustrated at some points. Still i do recommend it, especially if you are a fan of turn based games or of Airship Syndicate games. Though maybe wait for a sale if you are hesitant.
Very enjoyable RPG! I enjoy the depth of the combat, and the ability to build each member of the party according to your playstyle.
Much fun. yes yes
Pros
• Cool, comic-book-like graphics.
• The combat is pretty fun.
• Juicy and weighty sound effects.
Cons
• The overworld map is just a grid of linear paths, making it very constrictive.
• The gameplay is too simplistic: "Go here, fetch a thing, go back, and put it there to open a new path."
• Dungeon exploration feels like tedious busy-work.
• The whole game looks like an elaborate Flash game and could have been made for a browser.
Total: 5/10
yes and yes
Interesting game. Cool characters, really solid graphics, and it's fun. The fishing is really fun. The difficulty was solid in my opinion, and I did really enjoy this game when I played it.
A solid 8/10. It's a very good game. I might just go and replay it now, but kind of on a roll with reviewing all of these games I should have reviewed a long time ago. We'll see.
fun game
At first glance this game seem short and poorly balanced. That was at least until I realized that the developers seem to expect you to go through each of the dungeons multiple times. Each dungeon has multiple tiers of difficulty and if you try to go straight from one area to the next you will find yourself under leveled. Some of the combat choices seem odd as well with most of the skills seeming to favor doing damage over time versus direct damage. Once you get the hang of combat though it's a fun game and absolutely beautiful artwork as well.

TL;DR: Classic JRPG mechanics with Joe Mad art. Love it! A few kinks, but definitely recommended.
Pros:
+ I haven't played a jRPG in around 18 years and this felt like reliving a bit of my early gamer days.
+ I am a big fan of Joe Mad's art in games. Darksiders FTW!
+ Grinding - this is the main complaint I've seen, but at least on a regular New Game, it didn't bother me at all. It really felt like a part of the jRPG experience without dragging waaaaaay too long or being that boring (again - for a classic jRPG).
+ Combat mechanics - for sure they could have been more complex, but they felt just right to me.
+ Characters - cool and recognizable silhouettes with awesome animations
+ Game length - just right for my taste. May be one more dungeon would have been OK, but one more zone - no.
Cons:
- Combat experience can become repetitive as with any jRPG. I wish that there was a way to do run of the mill battles just a bit faster - may be with faster animations.
- The story is nothing to write home about
- Crafting is kind of boring
- Game manual is OK-ish, but I had to experiment and read online about several mechanics to understand them (attack, haste, heal being directly affected by Att stat, etc.)
- Installed a mod that lets off-party characters passively gain experience. Sure, I could have carried one or two during dungeon runs, but this helped me get things done faster and just saving time without feeling that I'm cheating. Otherwise this is a decision of the game design that I don't agree with.
- Combat logging and overall info is lacking. Even if you see numbers, usually they are not final so you either do calculations in your hear OR you just decide with a margin of possibility/error.
- NG+ starts slow and goes slow so I recommend it only for people who want more challenge and are willing to put the time and effort in repeating content just to get the best out the heroes and combat challenges.
Classic turn based RPG combat with Joe Madureira's (Battle Chasers creator) involvement in the game. The game is beautiful, although I don't really like the blur effect in dungeons.
As there are six characters it would've been great that some dungeons had one mandatory character or the final one had two paths forcing to raise all of them to max. I maxed them in the first playthrough, but didn't bother on NG+.
Also, the final boss is cool as a semi-boss, but it's underwhelming in it's own. After that fight it would've been cool to fight C'drall or Verus.
Pro tip: You want to complete the fishiary in the first playthrough, to be able to get it's reward again as soon as possible on NG+.
Great game. Nice story, characters and fight system. Overworld exploration can be boring but overall highly recommended.
It is such a beautiful game. I feel like there is a combination between digital art and traditional comic. It was so good and Airship Syndicate did their job so well. Can't wait to have and play their game such as Ruined King from the world of League of Legends.
You may want to give this game a try. Love :)
Quick:
Game pretty, game isn't necessarily what it looks like, maybe watch review. Game not for me, but game good quality, game seriously pretty.
Less Quick:
I wish I enjoyed this game's gameplay as much as I enjoy its aesthetic. The soundtrack, environments, and art are all really great. I love looking at it, but I feel like the combat system should have picked a lane. I would have enjoyed a system that was slow and strategic, or a simple turn based RPG vs the weird middle ground of slow and simple. Having to have all 3 of my party members attack a single enemy feels kiiiinda meh, even as early into the game as I am. It could really have used some options for animation skipping (even though they -are- really good looking) as I was already getting tired of how much they slow down the somewhat tedious combat. I think the only other gripe I have is the inclusion of crafting. It just screams "guess what you're going to be grinding for at some point?" I don't know, I don't feel that strongly either way, I just don't really need something that looks like it's going to eat a lot of my time up doing something I'm not necessarily loving doing.
Started off great and very fun. I loved the exploration of it, the overworld and the fight style, the visuals, the music and specially the gameplay, but after reaching mid-late game the game turn into a boring slog and extremely tedious and grindy. I started HATING moving in the overworld, I started HATING the fights. I also hate the game design where you get a new character that’s way underleveled than the characters you’ve been playing with for a while and even worse is that you have to raise their levels separately and whoever isn’t in your party gains 0exp.
Overall score 5/10 very good start but very very boring and tedious towards the middle and end.
Great game, 10/10
Nice.
