A story-driven horror where the goal is to find out what lies behind the experiment.
All that you have is a flashlight, a lighter, and your intelligence to solve various environmental puzzles, escape from unpleasant situations and hide from what you find.
This game was developed to be played perfectly in virtual reality.
Each menu, object, or text, will be implemented in the game to allow who will use the Head Mounted Display to have a realistic effect.
All you have to do to activate this mode, it's open the game menu and activate "VRMode" in the "Graphic Settings".

This does NOT require a VR set and plays nice with Mouse and board but headset is a must!
Cool UE4 graphics, nice atmosphere and sound, well done and despite of some minor bugs it is way enjoyable, this forge should make more of it, sure leading to success compared to other indie games. The architecture keeps it small like a dungeon crawler, there are needed speedruns so as diving sections and players are getting quite challenged at some parts, the foes are well stripped, some fast, some slow but the gore is gentle and the blood color almost uniquely nice.
Hint: The steam is gas so care with the zippo, if you want to have all achievements, go swim in the big hall with 3 levels prior leaving the door with lotsa activated green lights on it. Achievement ratio is less 10% so you feel good after beating it with all points done :-)
I originally bought the game not realizing it was Oculus only, but now it's somehow working with my Vive Pro. There is one issue though. You are probably meant to be about 6 feet tall, but the camera placement has you at about 8 feet tall. Though this did not prevent me from completing the game. If you so chose, you can play the game crouched on Vive, putting you at about the right height and most of the time can still sprint, even while crouched. There was one small section, where you're in a low duct filled with water. For that one section, I had to get off my chair and get down on the ground to be low enough to see, but it's not a big section and it's late in the game. As for the game itself it was pretty good. Much longer than many VR horror games. Great atmosphere. Decent puzzles. A little problem with some of the translations, but I enjoyed playing it. Definitely worth the price. Glad I finally got to play it. Rock On!
VR function doesn't work. The game crashes at launch anytime my Oculus Rift is connected to my PC.
Amigdala shows what happens if you just "turn the VR switch on" in an FPS game. You get motion sickness as soon as you try to move or turn your character. You get a menu that is glued to your face. You get players that quit after 5 minutes and leave a bad review because they know it's going to be barf-city if they keep playing.
While waiting for regular priced HTC Vives arriving in Austria, I bought myself a VR Headset for my mobile phone and accidently stumbled upon Riftcat, which enables you to stream Vive and Oculus VR games from your PC to your mobile phone. As far as I can tell this works really great (I am using an LG G3) and costed me less than 50 Euros!
Riftcat contains a demo version of Amigdala and that's how I found this game. Now I bought it on Steam and after solving two problems (first I was floating a few meter above the floor and after fixing this I could see a blue horizontal line from Vive's chaperone system, which I could also get rid of) it works perfectly with Riftcat. By the way, my system is an i7-2600K / GTX-970 and the game runs smoothly with less than 50% GPU load using default Riftcat settings (i.e. 1920x1080 with 60 FPS).
I have read a lot of negative reviews about this game, like the slow walking speed, the poor voice acting, and a few bugs. Although this is all true I do not care at all, because this game offers an outstanding atmosphere with good graphics and very good sound effects. Playing it in the night with earphones will give you a good number of really scary moments.
Imho Amigdala is not only an excellent demonstration for the "power" of VR, it's also a decent computer game. The level design is good and diversified, the distance between two save points is okay, the (few) controls are easy to learn and work very well. The "puzzles" in the game (like finding a crowbar to open a jammed door or checking a security camera to see the code for a locked door on a wall) are fun and not very hard. The slow walking speed is also no problem for me because usually you want to proceed with caution, and the levels are not that large. Not to forget that you can run if you want, but only for about 10 seconds, then you will have to wait that your stamina meter fills up again.
So far there is only one thing that could have been solved better, namely that the display for the remaining battery of your flashlight is projected directly into the middle of your view, which disturbs the immersion a little bit. Imho it should have been placed on a less prominent location.
Conclusion:
If you can play this game in VR it's definitely worth its price, even if you should only use it as interactive demo. But actually this would be a waste since it's a good game as well, and it's sole developer really deserves some recognition for it!

I enjoyed it. Graphics were nice. Took 3.7 hrs to finish. Always nice to have a vr game with a story. The price is nice too.
Great Vr experience
Great VR game... Very scary!!!! one of the best VR games i have played on steam. We need more games like this .
I must say that Amigdala is one of the most intersting games that i havew ever played. It has a very different vibe to it and even though it has vewry few if any jumpscares, i still think that it was an overall okay game. The graphics are pretty great and intensity is extreme. The only think that concerns me a little about this game is the story. I must say tyhat it is a little confusing at some points and i was kind of lost throught the game as there really is no sort of objectives, But overall i reccomend this game and it's worth a try.
wow what can i say iv been playing this for a week now and cant get off it one of the best horror games iv seen in years i cant what to see what come next if you like horror this is a good one for you
This game looks really cool, and the backstory is really interesting. I'm pretty sure it was inspired by the Dyatlov Pass incident, but it does a really good job freaking you out even if it's over nothing. The first time I played last night, I kept freaking out that I would spontaniously combust, that's how bad this game can get you. It's not about Jump-Scares, and it's about the atmosphere which this title does extremely well. I'll be editing this review once I get further.
