hell yeah jigsaw
Good game. Just dont spend all your money on the first few levels so further down the line you can buy better artilery to pound the krux traitors.
A well-designed game, a well-designed soundtrack—well, it's an absolute cinema.
awesome game
Gun make boom.
BEST GAME ALSO FINALY A UBDATE
It really is just a more streamlined FTL, but if it instead took place in the setting of the short animated film "Cannon Fodder" (from Memories, 1995). And it's a good, relatively fresh choice of setting.
REDCON is a great little strategy game that's quick and easy to get into, but has sufficient mechanical depth/breadth to make for some good tactical variety, be it in how you build your forts, or the enemies you encounter over the course of the linear campaign.
Elements of your fort carry over between battles, and while REDCON isn't truly a roguelite, it does have some roguelite elements and long-term planning. Overall the difficulty is quite manageable, and I also adore the soundtrack and artstyle of the game. Despite REDCON's age, it also still gets minor updates.
Major update broke it
Makes me feel like israel the way I be firebombing these cities.
Amazing game and the fact that they still update it is crazy! Go buy it and support the devs!
This might just be my personal favourite Hexage game. While it's easy to draw comparisons to FTL, this game has more of an emphasis on combat which is also more well-rounded in my opinion. There is also NO procedural generation here unlike in FTL. One more thing that I should point out is that this game just recently got a big update that allows for players to replay missions that they have already completed. Due to this, I can comfortably say that this game is worth it at full price or on sale.
i love commiting warcrimes
Big guns
5/10 It's a FTL clone in the theme of forts but it's neither. It has less features than both games. I don't recommend it.
big boom haha
really great on mobile but on pc game runs in slow motion
Good
you can nuke a small ahh cannon just for the sake of it, my favorite game
A shiny little gem of a game I keep coming back to over the years, beating it again and again. It just feels great to play.
The art style, music, sound effects, command barks, and animation all feel so distinct and uniquely charming that I'm almost sad it's over each time.
The difficulty is there for sure, this is not a trivial game to master, but fights can start to feel a bit repetitive if you don't spice things up yourself. That said, the occasional levels that give a premade fortress are very well made. They are HARD, some feel almost absurdly so, but the solution often requires quick thinking and a good understanding of the given scenario. The quality of those levels alone is a cut above anything I've expected from this game.
(I'm yet to beat all of those unique levels in one try on a single run despite accumulating a winning streak for the entire last third of the game with relative ease AND being familiar with them from previous completions)
The difficulty is very often strategic, which I appreciate a lot, it's all too easy to just add more guns to the other side but this generally, if ever, does that. The power progression feels very good.
The story is very light and easily skippable, it doesn't get in the way at all but has the additional value for those who read the short bits of dialog and try to piece the thing together.
It also gives some hints to the next enemy, and it can help to adapt the weapons or defenses to the next level, it's a good, in-universe way to deliver that information, it feels seamless.
The ending is very well done, giving a few things to think about. It stuck with me for a very long time after my first completed run and it is still one of the more memorable ones from my many years of gaming.
Overall an incredible game you can feel yourself improve at, from struggling to beat single levels to win-streeking massive chunks of the game.
The recent 2.0 update is exactly what I've wanted, giving the option to replay any level in the game without having to restart completely. It's very easy to navigate and gives a feeling of progression aside from the mission number increasing.
.
I really like this game. I first got it on my cromebook and fell in love with it because of its challenge, artstyle, and how fluid everything felt. I eventually purchased the full package of the game after having it for around a year and although it took a while, I had a blast beating the game. So if thats all true, why am I not recomending it? Well, I accdentially spiderwebbed my chromebooks screen and when I went to get it fixed I was told that a new screen would be about as much as a new computer so I just decided to get a new computer. I ended up getting a 2020 edition macbook pro instead, and one of the first things I did was get a steam account and buy this game. to my dismay however, the game wouldnt work. The application opens and the game loads, the menu music even starts playing, but a screen for the game never actually pops up. I cant interact with the game at all, let alone even see it. Ive tried uninstaling and reinstalling, verifying integrity, I looked around in the files, but nothing worked. So I went to the discord, and asked there. now, I totally understand that this game has an active community, and that there is only so much that devs can deal with at one time, but when I brought my problem there and asked for help, I was met with silence. there were other people in the channel and a mod in the channel but no one saw me. So I waited a few minutes and asked again. Someone saw me this time and said asked me to describe what was wrong I better detail. I tried my best to explain, and they wernt sure what was wrong and said they would look at it and would get back to me.
I waited a month before giving up.
I still cant play the game. I would love to, but I cant. and i've spent about 2 hours on it so I cant request a refund. Im writing this to hopefully get someone to see my problem and help as a last ditch effort. its an awesome game, and I would love to play it again someday.
Edit: I own another game called Reaper by this same studio and that game runs just fine, so im not sure what the problem is.
Triple onslaught is balanced.
Challenging and fun. You will lose many times, but its worth it! A must own!
certified HEXAGE classic
Absolutely incredible resource management meets "tower defense" in REDCON!
I first discovered this gem about seven years ago on mobile, and it immediately became one of my favorite games. The blend of strategy, resource management, and tactical gameplay was so engaging that I purchased the full version back then and never regretted it. When I saw that it had made its way to Steam, I couldn't resist grabbing it again and I’m so glad I did.
For such a modest price, this game is an absolute steal. Whether you're new to REDCON or revisiting it like I am, the gameplay remains just as addictive and rewarding. If you're a fan of games that challenge your strategic thinking while offering satisfying combat mechanics, this is a must-have addition to your library!
This game is a must play. Go in blind, you will not regret it.
Real-time - turn-based?
Big guns go boom
Can't believe it got a massive update after 8 years.
I love playing this game, it's good stress relief surprisingly.
Definitely worth buying.
Great little game, I haven't found any in this style
Shooting big shells out of big guns who doesn't love that?
Old but very fun and can be somewhat tense.
No mission selector and sandbox mode which a shame.
I come back to this game from time to time to play it. It is just really good and fun to play. The story behind it is also very funny but the actual game play is what I like the most about this game. It's worth the price for sure.
guns
The story is about gambling
i like jiggly guns
the game of the recent has been broken. and it used to play just fine. not sure what the game's problem is.
