Buy this game if you want your PTSD to shoot up. This game has problems arising from its stiff and broken controls with no proper tutorials to begin with . Do not believe other reviews which try to sugarcoat and say things like '' Best zombie beat emup'' . This game doesnt come close to games like Streets of Rage and other platformers. The first few levels may have been easy but the 6th level, as I write this review, is absolute shite.
The only redeeming features for this game are the music which sounds good and the graphics which fit the scenes. There are no updates since this game has been released. I may try out this game on VR just to give it a second chance from going below 4/10.
well it's not a soft game play , not a good controlling in 2D games , i don't like this style moving and attaking because it's not fast and a way you punch it's not that you excepted .. so my answer is no 3\10
Bloody Zombies is a really bad Side Scroller, Beat 'em up alright then let's get into the story. The city of London a bustling Metropolis have been overtaken by an army of the undead, but the K.R.O.N.O.S Corporation to prevent the destruction of England constructed walls around the city, but four unlikely survivors had made a living in the city and only they can stop what's happening.
Alright then the likes, the graphics in the game are nice and pretty colorful with nice detailed areas and enemies, the levels in the game are pretty good and diverse from a location from the city to a train station to it even a graveyard. For the most part the enemies and bosses are really good with incredibly interesting designs and a pretty diverse selection of powers. The gameplay is okay if your standard Side Scroller, Beat 'em up, if you play games like Double Dragon or Streets of Rage you can punch and kick and pick up weapons to attack enemies with.
The music in the game is good with nice tracks, the characters in the game are good with unique looks, and the voice acting in the game is good did not feel wooden at all. The story is okay pretty simple.
Alright then the dislikes, this game is incredibly hard even on normal difficulty, like this game is just to stupidly hard and unfair , what I mean is there are enemies in the game that feel absolutely cheap in their attacks, like this huge enemy in riot gear that is just really hard to dodge or this teleporting enemy that can strike in a second. Then there is the when final level and holy crap that level throws everything at you to the point I had to set the game on easy mode just to beat It.
The characters can also move really slow, there is a run button but I feel like the characters shouldn't walk this slow, the jumping in the game also felt a bit stiff. There's also an upgrade system where you can buy upgrades for different moves but I really didn't see the point of it. The price of game is also really high, I mean I can get it if the game was like maybe $10, but $15 for this game is just too much especially on how stupidly hard this game is.
But what's really sad about this game is the fact that if it tone down the difficulty, rework some of the enemies to not be so cheap with their attacks and lowered the price to $10 I can see this game being a cult classic.
Now that I said all that Bloody Zombies is a really bad Side Scroller, Beat 'em up, I really cannot recommend this game if you're a fan of Side Scroller, Beat 'em ups I say just don't get this game.
I bought this on PSVR and i love it,...... here's the BIG Issue here. There is a BIG-A$$ed bug that infects Nintendo Switch Pro-controllers where only your jump button (A) (Which is preset and mapped WRONG), and the Left trigger which is oddly just the attack modifier. NO attack though, and absolutely NO WAY to remap. I tried repeatedly. Instant Refund request.....
I Really wish the game worked Here....... VR or 2D, id have been fine if only one mode had worked.

This is amazing!!! If you like your classic 2D brawler then this is for you! Having this perspective when playing one of these games is brillient!!! Plus its an amazing brawler, ...special moves., combos, good variety of bad guys, co-op etc seriously buy this game! best £3.84 i ever spent ....a steal!
It´s a great game, i like to play this kind of games, it feels like if you were playing an arcade machine with a classic 2d game.
I like coop and zombie games too and this game has both of them mixed up with a beat em´all touch :D
This game could be better if you could have the possibility to play with anyone who has this game on steam and no only with friends
For a Experimental Beat'Em Up. Has a Slow and Repetitive gameplay.
Actually did not play on VR.
VR might get a better Experience on this game.

Not only is a great Beatm'up to enjoy but also the added value of Virtual Reality adds another layer of joy to see with a freedom to see the game with a floating camera that is your own headset.

I've always enjoyed Double Dragon, Golden Axe, Final Fight and all the classics beat'm up....
This game has all those mechanics that I loved ...you could grab the enemies, you could run and hit them, you could pick guns...enemies have different attacks that when mixed will really push you to kill some first before others and other tactics....so ...let me tell you guys: THE BEAT'M UP PART IS THERE and IS REALLY FUN TO PLAY!
now...add to that the VR part....wooooow
I'm REALLY ENJOYING IT IN VR but I could show you videos/screenshots and you will not still understand the sensation.
You have to PLAY IT.
I will try to describe it if you are interested.
Imagine that in front of you have a small theater of 2D toys, like if they were made of paper or small slices of wood. And these toys can move around and move their arms, they look like small figures of no more than 6 cm high.
That is the game and how you look it...you could move around freely so you are like an all seeing invisible god that control the main character.
So everything is in 3D and you could look anywhere and you will see the entire stage and the path the toys should follow to reach the end of the level.
IT LOOKS AND PLAYS AMAZING IN VR!!
The price is correct, the AI is good, the difficult is well balanced, is not easy...you will have very different moments when you will need to plan your fights or your ass will get kicked hehehe
The game is not very long...but I didn't finished yet...and the replay factor is there, because you have 4 characters
Add that you could play it with friends, just tried this yesterday and it was incredible fun as we could hit the bad guys at the same time creating some new crazy combos jajjaja
I feel that I got more than I was asking...specially in VR!!

Don't usually play brawlers (or write reviews much) but I actually rate this a lot. I was recommended this by a mate to play online and found the experience to be unique when using an oculus. The single player is really rewarding when you take down a hoard of zombies and the art style deserves some praise. The variety of special moves are cool too although I found sticking to a reliable 3-4 moves once I started playing in harder difficulties.
I'm thoroughly enjoying this so far, it's like a Street of Rage-esque brawler with zombies and some British humour. The enemies are varied - some have knives, spikes, whips, some throw their brains at you, and some explode. There are big boss battles, chase sections, and time sensitive battles. There's also a selection of weapons to pick up - katanas, maces, hammers - and combo moves that you learn along the way. It's really satisfying once you learn the moves and get in the zone.
A few suggestions:
- Grab + punch seems to be context sensitive, would be cool to have this on a button
- Double-tap to sprint hasn't aged well, it was great back on consoles that had few buttons, but we have better controllers now and it's difficult to pull off with analogue controls. The museum level end boss suffered most from this
- Is it possible to be able to sprint on both axis? Moving up and down the screen is very slow
- The weapon damage is a bit harsh, you only get a few hits with the katana
- Steam Controller didn't work out of the box, needed a bit of fiddling

Old school beat em up fun! Streets of Rage in zombie apocalypse, what's not to like.
Good progression system and the co op is a blast.
game states controller support, it should say ONLY controller support. The keyboard controls are extremly bad (even with skill setting on easy), this is exaserbated by the overall clunkyness of movement and attacking. ive requested a refund, if you looking for a good game that is similar you cant go past guns, gore & cannoli
This is the first game I've written a review for and the first game I've also asked for a refund for. I was first drawn to this as I enjoyed these games in my SNES days and liked the art style but i wasn't convinced enough to preorder. I did purchase at launch and regretted it having played it for even a brief time due to it being so shallow and dull. It has less depth then Super Double Dragon and is no where near as entertaining as Turtles in Time. I could easily concieve a better fighting system then what was implemented here and others had also 20 years ago. Probably destined to end up on Bundle Stars in a heap of other indie trash. All style no substance
This is a great game and awesome in VR... as others have said much like those old street brawlers of old.. but with VR you can get right up in the action and look all around.
Although it isn't a console port it feels just like one. They didn't even both change the menu and tutorial buttons for the 'desktop version' i.e.: people with a mouse and keyboard.
There is literally no mouse support for input and the keyboard keys are fixed.
nice game! i find it a bit boring and hard after a while though.. but this can be solved by playing online.
online was very nice till the moment we had some lag. then 3 out of four died and the 4th guy seemed that couldnt rez us.. so we just watching him playing for 1-2 min till everyone left.
seems that dont many players play online cause only 1 time i was able to find a game....now everytime i play i host one but no one enters..also i would like to have checkpoint at half of lvl or before of boss...cause i reach big guy at 2nd lvl with 1-2 lives left and then when i die i have to play from the start of the stage....(alt -f4 after:P) and yes its a like a double dragon with zombies.
High quality (VR) brawler for everyone that loves to play with small characters using a gamepad. The retro arty 2D figures and the 3D environment are beautiful. There's professional voice-acting , a great in-game menu, a nice tutorial and they even added a story. I didn't encounter any bugs. Love this game! Great price as well.
Addictingly fun co-op brawler! Fantastic graphics with a great soundtrack that I really wish I could purchace. The skill system is awesome and lets you swap skills in/out on the fly during combat. A couple minor bugs with loot falling into unreachable areas but ran flawless other than that! Also I will not rest until I've brought a golden chick to the end of a level unscathed! Can't wait to hop in and play some more!
OK,first off this is alot more slower paced than i originally thought it would be ,but thats not always a bad thing.
Good British Sense of Humour.Nice Art style and seems original in the swap in and swap out skill system.
Overall my first impressions are descent if you want a reasonably priced side scrolling beat em up.
