I am used to play jump-and-run and other games in that near genre. I am unable to play this with Keyboard nor Steam-Controller. Hitting the right Keys or pushing specific Controller-Buttons in the right time (whenever this might be) sounds not that hard, but because of the sluggish movement of the model and the distrubingly inaccurat positioning of the Model using the JoyStick of the Controller you have to start over and over again. I got really sick of this even during the intro which is suppose to help you to start. But I've got more and more angry about it and myself as well, so I've uninstalled. It's not worth my time.
Warning : Challenging game.
Second warning : I spoil the gameplay actions. Don't read if you wanna discover through the game.
The game asks you to take control of a character and push on various buttons at the right time to distract/disable the obstacles. You have to guide your character in a succession of corridors at the same time as pushing A to open doors, X to distract the guards, up to disable the cameras, LT to steal keys and open chests, RT to charge a dash and B to use slow-motion. You have to use all those actions very rapidly and numerous times to finish the levels. The game is separated in 6 chapters and you unlock new actions at every chapter until chapter 5, where the last levels are a combination of everything you learned. You have to finish the levels under a given time, and once you finished the 5 levels of a chapter, you unlock the possibility to do the levels again with an harder time to beat, the golden time. I had fun with the game, it feels like you achieve something when you beat the hardest level in gold time, so it is satisfying. It's kinda short, but it was a good experience overall.
Reminds me of Super Laser Racer (if you touch the walls with as much as a hair you just stop = no good for your time..)
Great music/sounds and artistic value. I bought it on sale for 2$ and i got 2 maybe 3 hours out of it if i go in again to try and get the gold times aswell. 1$/h gametime is a ''must'' for me so i'd say not worth full price.
Considering what this game is, it is horribly optimised, if at all.. My PC can put some nice graphics on the screen playing GTA V and even though it says 60FPS in this game, it stutters at points (memory-leak?) to a point where it does not accept some inputs from the controler, which of course is gameplay breaking like nothing else... This does not happen to bad if you wait a few seconds after reseting the level. THis shouldn't have to be..
I still recommend the game for all it has to offer: sound, gameplay, visuals and the sweet background story (if you still care for it by level 5 instead of getting frustrated, because you get carpal tunnel, because you cant change the controls).
Sprinter does a lot right. The art style, the music, the story; all solid. But what really set this game apart for me was how addicting the gameplay was. It's rare to see an indie game that manages to be both artistically different and still fun to play. I couldn't put this game down until I beat it and now I just want more levels! Dev, please deliver some DLC, this was just too good to be over.

Sweet little challening game! I guess I have to improve my gamepad skills as I barely manage to beat the standard goals, yet alone the gold targets :) And I thought Dark Souls was tough :))
Sprinter, a game about running. More about running away. The artstyle is really great. It took me 2.6 hours to complete as you can see. Maybe I will try the gold times, but that will take a while.
Is it worth your money even though you will only play the normal times? Depends on your viewpoint. For me it was definitly worth it.
If you dont want to spend 6-8€ (or regional equivalent) for such a short game (in which you only want to finish the normal times), then maybe buy it in a sale.
If you want to beat gold times it will definitly take you more than 2.6 hours. I assume after the tries I had for the last few levels. It would take probably about 10 hours for me. So if you wanna do that. Buy it. ;)
When I stumbled across this game, I didn't have incredibly high hopes. To be completely honest, I assumed it would be some boring flash game someone put on Steam to make a quick buck.
However, after playing this game, it's clear that Sprinter was made with a lot of love.
The art style is clean and unique and its simple appearance complements the gameplay incredibly well. Mixed with the serene, ambient music, it creates a great atmosphere. In fact, despite some of the final levels taking a lot of attempts, I don't think I got nearly as frustrated as I probably should have. I attribute this entirely to the soothing and rewarding soundtrack.
The gameplay itself is fun, addictive and ultimately satisfying. The controls work perfectly - whenever you fail, it's always your own fault. Fairly simple mechanics, combining reaction speeds, hand-eye coordination and split second timing. No qualms on this front.
However, the game definitely isn't perfect. Firstly, the content. The story consists of 30 levels, which comes out to about 2 hours play time. I don't personally care about play time, especially with indie titles like this, but be prepared that the game isn't that long. I liked what they tried to do with the story, but it just didn't work for me. Difficulty curve is a bit off, struggled mostly at the start (learning how to cut corners perfectly) and the final chapter, which would be gruelling if it weren't for the music (seriously guys, I really like the music). Also, if you do the whole game in one sitting, the colours can get a bit harsh on the eyes.
Overall though, it's a great game. Interesting, fun and the kinda game you can come back to in six months and experience it as if it was your first time. Solid indie game and I'm curious to see what else the dev will come up with.
Buy this game. It really is that good - and i have only played it for only around 1.5 hours. Minimalist graphics and soundtrack which work really well together and the difficulty increases in each level enough to keep you wanting more but just shy of making it too hard. It is a really good challenge, highly recommended.
