About the Game
Melon Simulator™ is a chaotic, multiplayer (1 - 4 players), first person melee combat game. Play as a member of the Melon Inc. Containment Unit, responding to a failed melon simulation. Work with your teammates to survive the oncoming melon hoard and compete for the top spot on the worldwide leaderboards. The longer you survive, the harder it gets.
WEAPONS
Almost anything that isn't nailed down can be used to whack, slice, and throw at the oncoming melon hoard... katanas, machetes, paintings, melon chunks, wooden baseball bats, metal baseball bats, spiked baseball bats, planks, spiked planks, sign letters, speakers, bricks, benches, doors, and more.
LEVEL EDITOR
With Melon Simulator's in-game level editor you can create, share, and play custom levels. Custom levels work in multiplayer too, so you can play them with your friends!

This is one of those random games that only you have (out of all your friends), and it's ridiculous how fun this is. If only it were still being updated
Ye its epic, not the best game ever but really good gameplay for the price
Ridiculously fun! However, it would be super awesome if the devs picked this back up and kept working on it. I thought about refunding it when I saw that it came out in 2016-2017, but it definitely is a fun time killer for $5. Devs, please please please please do more with this.
Just searched up melon on Steam and found this game. Super fun.
Kinda underrated. Imagine cod zombies mixed with dead rising, but slices of watermelons as enemies and you can eat them to restore health. While lacking a bit in content at the moment compared to similar games, it is a unique and cool idea and worth the $5 price tag. I really hope it gets more updates in the future!
You'd be surprised but for a zombie type game this is fairly original.
Let me explain.
Weapon Originality
Most zombie games would throw guns at you, and to get weapons you have to pay for them.
In this game you have melee weapons and to find them you need to search around the map, or find them from random generation.
BUGS
Bugs are noticeable but not outright making the game unplayable. These bugs I often notice playing with friends and can be annoying, but Early Access game is gonna Early Access game.
The Level Editor
Level editors can be confusing, especially with 3D level editors, but it's not hard when you understand it. I really do encourage people to make maps especially with the low amount giving lots of potential for originality. There are bugs within the Level Editor, like the menu breaking to unknown reasons and blocks automatically inverting, but those are redeemable with a simple save button. (Thank god those bugs don't crash games)

This barely passes for a game in its current state. It's a decent enough prototype for a game that could have potential but that's pretty much it. In its current state it should be a free game on itch.io and not an early acccess title imo.
This game is hella' underrated. It's basically just your generic zombie-hoard game but with giant melons, dubstep, and a level builder. Super simple, super cheap, and super fun. Would definitely recommend a purchase for you and your pals.
This game is not good. Music as loud as shit and you can't turn it all the way down, even though it doesn't add to the gameplay. Eating melon takes way too long for what you get back in health. Wave aren't interesting. Melon hit box doesn't really seem predictable. Game is goofy, which is good, but needs work. Got the game for $5 so I can't really complain about what I got, but right now, I don't see a reason to come back to it.
It didn't feel fun, it felt like CoD zombies but with melee weapons, which was really annoying when you had to fight boomers solo. I only played it for 20 minutes because I didn't feel it was fun enough to continue. I don't want to be too critical or harsh but I give this a 1/5.
I cant stop. Playing. Making maps. Playing those maps. Changing something about said map. Playing again. There isnt much here currently, but for 6.99 cad you cant go wrong. Tons of maps most of them usermade on the workshop but there are some really well done maps and ideas on there that will keep the wave based gameplay from getting stale. Hopefully one day we get guns. So i can spam all of the maps ive made with them and make a melony mess.
Melon simulator is like that diamond you find browsing through the endless crap under $5, It's fun and just the right difficulty to make you want to try to do better than your previous attempt. One of the more fun Co-op experiences for sub $5, and the create-your-own levels really make this refreshing if you get bored of the same maps.
Awesome game and I would recommend it! Play with friends for the best experience.
Here are a few things I would change though:
Exploding melons should have more defining ways to know that they are special (maybe a color change to a cantelop or something)
Sometimes the melons like to change elevation pretty quickly, while okay scaling walls going up any type of staircase can lead to you demise.
I don't know if I suck to much to find any type of gun but If those arent in the game maybe some projectile type weapons would be cool like crossbows, sling shots or spears and such would be cool!
I'm sure im forgetting a few things but I can't recommend this game enough if you want a fun little co-op experience, and im sure i'll add some more hours in over time
Probably the best game of 2017 and it's only in early access!
I can see this game going very far in the melon based genre, i know its highly competative right now but this is clearly the best melon based game of all time. I know that's a bold claim.
Fun CO-OP game to play with friends had a blast streaming it on twitch, gameplay is fun overall game has a few bugs that im sure will be fixed overtime like some mild clipping issues. but as a whole i love the game and can't wait to see the finished game!
I love this game, its a really fun game to play if your on a budget. If you like Left for dead then you'll like this. I currently hold the world record on corporation, lets see if you can beat me.
This game is already so good, ive played a little bit and i can say that this game doesnt need much improvements.
just that when your hitting the melons its hard to get a distance reading because you mostly miss the hits you throw and the revive time is way too slow.
Other than that keep it up coz this games flipping amazing
Think back to when Call of Duty zombies was good, now replace the zombies with watermelon slices. Welcome to Melon Simulatoir.
Ok not quite, but its still pretty fricken good. At the time of writing this review me and my friend hold the world record for the construction map (round 27) just above Speedy and Hova :D
Basically if you enjoyed the old days of COD zombies you'll enjoy this, and if you didn't, then idk what's wrong with you, and you probably won't like this game.
Also don't get downed, its very unforgiving and takes a long time to revive. Besides, you'll have to come to terms with the fact that a watermelon beat you to death...
I know the price tag seems a little steep at first, but my friends and I were looking for something to play for our youtube channel and we stumbled across this. The more we watched the trailer the more we decided that this was a thing we were about to do, and seriously, within the first hour we all felt that we had gotten $10 worth of fun (each) just playing the game.
We look forward to watching this one evolve and coming back for more after each update.
May give you PTSD triggered by watermelons though...
This game is fun, and for Early Access it is really good. The price is a little to much, but i heard it is going to be on sale soon, so you should buy it then. In multiplayer is where it is a lot of fun, if you have some friends to play it I would buy it. combat is fun and about 20+ weapons which are scattered around the map and with solo it is still very fun.
You pick up weapons and kill evil melon slices that bleed melon juice, you can also use the melon corpses as weapons, it's honestly the perfect game just needs a bit more content to it
Highly recommend 11/10
