Это – The Final Station.

Tried to play this with a controller, the formatting for that was terrible and might it have broken my controller because now it just refuses to stay on. Also, afterwards I tried to play this game as normal but now whenever I click "start game" all it shows is a black screen. I could hear the game but I couldn't see it. And to my horror, this has been a problem since 2019, how does a priced game go this long with a game-breaking bug this bad?
The game itself was fun for the first hour but then I realized there was nothing that couldn’t be beaten with a few well timed punches, I was also extremely invested in the story until I realized the end was a huge disappointment. This game wanted to be something much cooler and more thought out but it simply wasn’t. i was sad to be left with such a bad taste in my mouth
My feelings are totally mixed here.
This is an interesting game from a narrative world setting. It's not-zombies again...on another world. The train stuff could be interesting but they totally sabotaged it.
You can't concentrate on NPC dialog or even admire the beautiful changing pixel landscapes when you have to constantly fix the train, feed and/or heal passengers, want to craft items, look at the next destination information, or have a short instant message conversation...moreover you want to end the train ride as soon as possible to stop passengers from dying. Game shoots itself in the foot here.
Outside the train and meat of the game has you are going through largely linear levels searching for supplies, survivors, and most importantly the train blocker code to get to the next station. While doing so you'll uncovering plot/setting details and have many encounters with not-zombies. The search aspect doesn't follow any rules and is just arbitrary designer placed object fob.
Still recommended as the loop is fine and the world is interesting. Just hate what they did to make me hate the train rides by making it stressful time based busy work.
Drug usage within first 5 minutes, not mentioned in store page.
A very nice game,With immersive background music, Excellent background design for arts works,The plot provide players with a good sense of immersion, worth a try.
Slow drip of lore and intrigue keeps you going. Mechanics keep you enjoying the moment to moment. About 8 hours without the DLC, really great game.
A cool game that has some great moments and an amazing atmosphere, although it is somewhat short at roughly 5 hours. Would therefore recommend getting it on sale if its premise sounds interesting to you. The DLC is also good, but pricy.
ОЧ ГРУСТНЫЙ ФИНАЛ, ХОЧУ ПРОДОЛЖИТЬ(
fun
this is a nice game i kinda like it but i am on the edge about recommending.
it has a very nice and cool concept but idk why devs chose to make the gameplay this way. its cheesy lol. For example you go thru half of a level and nothing happens, its pretty much linear you passing one empty room after another, you cant free roam etc and you open one door, 5 or 6 zombies rush on to you, some of them armored, and often in a tough situation like you cant back out. the ammo is super stingy, luckily ladders are easy, you can swoop down or up and punch enemies and back out. you cant jump, you cant run, you cant dodge, and for some reason, melee attack is sometimes inconsistent, especially heavy melee i think. I see that we find heavy objects like toilet seats, chairs, and cardboard boxes lol to throw at enemies, but almost always they are either way too far away on the other side of the map or they are inside the room that needs to be cleared... or they break, you cant rethrow.
people you save and give ride talk about interesting stuff but you have to tend to your gimmicky train to no break apart which makes you not pay attention to their conversations and the background we pass thru. I rather not have timed challenges. and we gotta feed and heal them.. food and med kits are hard to come by too.
Great Game.
simple gameplay.
Difficulty maybe too low but compensated by mysterious story-line and naive pixel artworks.
just amazing.
PROs: Absolutely clean game, creates tension while not overcomplicating things. Has a small scope, and you can actually finish it becomes it starts to be repetitive. I wish there were more games like it.
CONs: The gameplay can end up a bit simple - there are ways to trick the mob to never hurt you (just walk backwards), it eventually becomes a bit of a chore. I also wish they kept the pixel size consistent throughout the UI, especially with such an elegant art style.
It's a cute game but it crashes very often. Using Debian 12
I tried really hard to like this game. It's pretty, it does a good job of crafting an atmosphere and it almost tells a story, but that's it. Almost. The gameplay is almost fun. The story is almost interesting. The best thing about the whole game is the background art.
All sorts of things are going on in the world you piece together between points A and B but the whole experience seems puddle deep and there is no point. I made a 2nd play through trying to catch every bit of the dialogues I missed previously turning the same 3 knobs to keeping the train running and keeping people fed.
The "experience" isn't worth the time, which will be better spent doing pretty much anything else.
Good game, kinda short but good gameplay and an interesting storyline
Pretty nice game would recommend
ive only logged 3 hours at the time im writing this but, i have to say i would recommend this game. I like the old school graphics. The gameplay loop is fun and satisfying. I love finding these unknown indie games and this one is a great addition to my library.
swag glad i saw the rec for it on an urb ex forum. story and music was really top tier and game play was fun
The Final Station is a 2-d action shooter but only calling it a action shooter would be a disservice because our main character a.k.a. Edward Jones the Conductor can do much more than just surviving in the Apocalypse. Taking care of your train, finding passengers and also taking care of them meanwhile looting as much as you can. That might sound like a charm in the beginning but it can also overwhelm you and that's what happened with me. Trying to do everything as smooth as I can took away my interest in the game a bit because there was so much to learn in a short period of time. This cold feeling only got strengthened by story's narrative driven very vaguely via shed of papers nailed around. Why Edward? Why Edward gotta do everything? Why nobody is helping him including the healthy passengers? We are in a Apocalypse, Christ's Sake! Is he just HIM or something? Hearing passengers discuss stuff was cute and really interesting but it really didn't help that much with overall vagueness. The Final Station's so many mechanics that are stuck to bare bones adding up with vagueness of the story made me really distance away from whatever narrative was trying to present to me. At that point . At that point, I just said YOLO and you know what, it got so much better. When I started to play the game like a looter shooter and accepting I have to play more like that. I was meleeing, shooting, then spamming the E/F button to loot whatever I can get then do whatever is the best for the train and the passengers. Less I cared about the bare bone story and mechanics, more it got better. Hunter might be Grim Reaper at this point and I could care less. I think The Final Station is still a fine gem but it's not everyone and I still recommend it but with a warning. As long as you don't take the game as serious as it wants you to be, The Final Station will be a good time.
A solid game. I enjoyed every aspect of it.
I was tremendously suprised by how much I enjoyed this game!
Its a simple concept but executed well! The gameplay was also longer than I expected and more fun than I anticipated!
The most challenging part is making sure you have enough supplies so your passengers don't die!
I loved the ways in which we get to fight, hide from or runaway from 'zombie' like enemies. Opening each door was suspenseful and unexpected and it is so much fun having to plot how best to traverse certain areas or decide what is or isn't worth it. Not to mention the ways in which using your mouse and keyboard are integrated so well! I've not played a game that gets this part right and The Final Station does this REALLY well!
When you mess up the game is also quite forgiving and moves you back to check points instead of forcing you to redo everything. This was DEEPLY appreciated.
My only issue was that near the end there were some 'surprises' that caught me off guard for worse and some narrative elements that I didn't quite vibe with.
Otherwise this was a really fun and thrilling experience! Wish it was longer or had a better closure (for my own sake narratively), but all and all a brilliant RIDE! <3
10/10
good game great story really like the level desing
Great atmospheric side scroller. Good story, decent gameplay, just an overall fun casual game.
I played and beat this game near release, years go now. It's decently made from a gameplay side--interesting management and choices, fun bit of 2d adventure/shooting at points. I'm sure there are many games which fulfill that criteria. But the setting and plot here really grab me, and I'm not quite sure why. I have played and forgotten many higher budget and marketed games than this. Without spoiling anything, the developer is a master at establishing a tone and giving the player a general idea of what's going on in the wider world, enough to pique my interest, yet maintaining a mysterious sense of dread, much more effectively than if they had come right out and explained things. It reminds me of a Twilight Zone episode or a Ray Bradbury story in that sense. Less is more. Bravo to DO MY BEST.
i took 30 seconds to look at the beatiful view outside the train, when I came back, 5 out five passangers were dead. 10/10
It's a very fun game, died like 23 times in this, but I had some fun on what to chose for each weapon, and picking up survivors. :3
goated childhood game as well great plot and pixel art is always great.
i loved this
The Final Station is an interesting take on the survival horror genre. You've got the standard food, medicine, and ammunition rationing. The zombies. You're also maintaining a train, picking up survivors (sometimes choosing who you can save and who you cannot) , and being drip-fed a post-apocalyptic story with a good deal of background as the game unfolds.
Don't hyper-stress about the survival factor and don't expect to come out the other side with all the answers and you'll enjoy ~five hours of 2D zombie survival some real WTF moments.
Nice and relaxing game for an evening.
a simple pixel art game. Both the main game and the dlc where quite enjoyable. I do recommend it if you like the artstyle and want a small adventure with a nice twist in the end
I reccomend this game. But you need to understand one thing.
Since most of the time indie games can't impress with graphics (although I love pixelart),
they try to impress with gameplay or story and atmosphere.
The gameplay of the game is pretty simple, but entertaining.
The story and atmosphere are very interesting.
But for some reason, the former gets in the way of enjoying the latter.
If you follow game mechanics, you miss the plot. If you follow the plot, you miss mechanincs.
You cant have both in the same time, and it is spoils the fun.
Recommended !
Quick game, but great story! Worth playing, you have to carve out the story and its very satisfying
Great atmosphere, intriguing story, tight and addictive gameplay, amazing soundtrack. Recommend
game moved too slow for me
Surprisingly short and simple, but in a good way. I have respect for a game that doesn't try to bloat the playtime or overload you with unnecessary mechanics. The actual story is a bit hard to decipher and feels like background noise, but it works fine enough for the feeling that there's something grander going on and you're just a small part of it.
fun
Rating: ★★★☆☆ (3/5)
Low budget interactive story.
This is a platforming game where, in each level, you have to find a code and bring it back to proceed, usually through an alternative route. The train sections are cutscenes with basic resource management for keeping passengers alive. It's a short game with very basic combat, puzzles, or level design. The campaign is completely linear with barely any replayability. There is nothing wrong with the game, but everything has been executed better in other titles. Worth at a discount.
English translation bad - Gameplay loop is fine few hours. Concept story interesting clumsy
Atmosphere, story line and music very good. i liked it. If you read this review you must play this game
I LOVED THIS GAME!!!!! I totally understand why some people wouldn't like this game. It is definitely hit a home run or totally miss. I loved everything about this though. The visual storytelling was amazing, I enjoyed all of the combat, and all of the sounds were very satisfying. It felt REALLY good mowing down enemies whenever I did. If this game intrigues you at all I heavily recommend at least giving it a trial run, you may end up loving it like I did. This is definitely worth it on sale at least. 9/10
Intriguing game. Fun combat mechanics, and a mysterious storyline.
Wow, I need a sequel. This gameplay formula, atmosphere, music, and artstyle, but setup for a longform play session (ideally a infinite survival setting) would be amazing. My mind is full of ideas of how this could be expanded upon to keep a solid cashflow for the devs. I haven't played the dlc yet but I'm about to.
I suppose my only complaint for the game is that it has left me wanting more, which is the best compliment I could give a game.
Simple repetitive gameplay. Story started well and I completed the game but the ending was not worth the time.
Good game, but not worth the money. I mean it has nice atmosphere, sort of nice graphic, some music, gameplay is fine, some story is around the corner but it doesnt take you in. Seems that someone had a nice idea but didnt make a game that would be something you would remember. Imho finished in 9 hours but didnt leave any impression or feeling that I would play that again.
The game is interesting, for what it is. Reminds me of a few of the games from Newgrounds, back in the day. However, the thing has no tutorial system (like those old games) and is rather repetitive early on. Fix X glitchy part of your train, ad nausea. It isn't all that engaging, and you don't even have a chance to really listen to the stuff your passengers are talking about as you go. Do not recommend.
