Bet this game would still be alive and well and probably bigger than Fortnite if the dumb devs didnt mess with the guns recoil patterns and other things. I still remember the day when that update dropped and probably within a week the game was dead. Will forever go down as one of the biggest life learned lessons as a game dev of what NOT to do

Game is still a lot of fun, the main thing this game needs to stay fun is for people playing! The more players the more like it once was that it can be again.
2024 and I still think about how fun this game was before DEYBRAKE got a hold of it and tried to turn it into a battle royal game. H1Z1 was such great fun.
The games split is where player's wants went out the window. It became about monetary gain.

From the moment you join the lobby, it’s clear this game isn’t about survival—it’s about surrender. Every match devolves into an ideological struggle where the players enforce their worldview with more zeal than they fight for victory.

“It’s problematic that the game lets you drive a truck without acknowledging its environmental impact.”

It started in a match where I dared to point out the obvious. The pre-game lobby was buzzing about how Z1 Battle Royale was “progressive” because of its inclusive cosmetic options. I chimed in:
“If this game really cared about inclusivity, why does every match feel like an American power fantasy? Where’s the cultural representation outside of rural America?”
The response was instant.
“Wow, someone hates America.”
“You’re just looking for things to be mad about.”
“Bet you’re one of those anti-imperialist weirdos.”
