i got this game YEARS ago on disk, very fun game as a kid :)
Played the Wii version of this game a bunch as a kid and seeing it here on Steam set my nostalgia neurons off.
Only half of the animals are available though. No Alligators, Antelope, Bears, Elephants, or Penguins. Super unfortunate.
If you want to buy the Steam version I recommend waiting for a Steam sale. If all the animals were available then I would actually say it'd be worth it at base price.
In the world of zoo, a place to roam,
Where animals live, and feel at home.
The graphics are bright, the animals near,
A gentle escape, away from fear.
On PC, it starts with a limited crew,
Fewer creatures, fewer to view.
A tiger, a bear, and a lion too,
But the panda and penguin are out of view.
Yet on the Wii, more life to see,
A sloth, a polar bear, and a penguin free.
The DS, too, adds creatures to spare,
More variety found in its digital air.
For young hearts, it’s a joy to explore,
Caring for animals, tasks galore.
A world to shape, a zoo to build,
In simpler joys, their hearts are filled.
But for the grown, the charm may fade,
Repetitive actions, a dull parade.
The depth it offers feels shallow at best,
A limited experience, failing the quest.
Yet still, for children, a perfect space,
To learn and love, to find a place.
So while the PC version may fall short,
The others bring more for those who support.
A game of care, for those who seek,
A gentle world, for the young and meek.
Where animals roam and hearts take flight,
But adult souls may not find delight.

It's fucking bullshit how there's no penguins in this version but everything else is cool
Another classic game I originally played on the Wii. Always had the same zoo: monkeys, and only monkeys. Got it again recently and, though it isn't complete like on the Wii, it still has its charm.
I paid 30$ for this game and i don't even get to see the Elephant and crocodile. my 2 most favorite animals ever! world of zoo was my most favorite childhood game on the planet and this is how you reward me!? please for the love of god, game devs, update this game and bring back every single animal from the Wii! that includes the Antelopes, the Penguins, and the Bears!!! PLEASE!!!!!
Granted I'm in my 20's now, but this game was everything to me as a child, its a good life sim, its easy, cute, educational and a great way to turn my brain off after a long day, I'm glad its still here for others to find and play
