До четырех игроков могут отправиться в Magicka ради спасения своего мира, используя полностью динамическую систему заклинаний. Приключенческий режим отправит игроков в три разных уровня, в котором им встретятся как пышные леса, так и горные аллеи, ведущие к замороженным залам Горного короля, где нужно будет применить весь свой ум и проворность для того, чтобы победить врага.
В разблокируемом игровом режиме повышенной сложности игрокам предстоит сражаться с волнами врагов, соревнуясь за первые места в таблице лучших.

Super crashy
This game, minus the crashes, is every childhood dream came true. It feels like you're doing complex hand signal akin to what shinobis in Naruto are doing. In real time. Props to AH. 10/10.

Magicka
Overall impression
Magicka, first of all, caught my eye because of its interesting visual style. The style of mini-figures running around the screen in the world of the favorite fantasy genre. And in addition to this, a rich world that is interesting to explore, which in turn rewards the player for his curiosity about its secrets. The plot is not an Oscar nomination, but it has enough plot twists that keep the player in a state of expectation of something new and interesting. The game is great to play alone, despite the fact that the game is designed for 1 to 4 players.
What DID I like?
- The main feature of this game is to create your own spells, which can consist of maximum 5 elements. And there are 10 to choose from in total (Ice and Steam) .
- A large selection of spell combinations, which allows everyone to play in their personal style. Whether it's a full mixed cast spell, or careful calculation. Constant attack, or slowdown of enemy and defense.
- Magicks - a certain combination of elements that, when activated, can be a great bonus for the player, or the beginning of chaos.
- A variety of enemies in the main campaign, which will definitely not catch up with you. They also, in turn, require an individual approach from the player, in terms of attack, to defeat them.
- A variety of locations in the main campaign: starting from the native starting castle and maybe with Niflheim .
- An interesting world that rewards the player for studying it in the form of new: Magicks, staffs or melee weapons.
- Additional modes in the form of: survival on arena, or versus between players. Each of these modes could be played on separate maps.
What I DIDN'T like?
- The main MINUS: Lack of patches for game stability. While playing, I personally have repeatedly encountered a game crash to the desktop (no, this is not a cast of unique magick) . As a result, all your progress crashes along with the game, which will need to be started from the beginning of chapter or checkpoint if you lucky. A crash can usually happen at the end of a chapter or when moving to a new location.
- Dead multiplayer. In 28 hours of play, I have never been able to successfully play any session with other players for full chapter. There were three reasons for this: the lack of active games, being kicked by other players, or a game crash.
Conclusion
Having played twice through this game, I can say that this is one of those games that really drags you in due to short and interesting locations, each of which hides secrets and new mobs. Each of the chapters can have interesting twists that will probably appeal to everyone. But the main highlight of this game is its unique mechanic of constructing unique spells.
If it weren't for the lack of patches, regarding crashes, I'm sure that this game would be popular, though not in large circles, but in some. And for now, playing Magicka is a test of your luck, namely when it crashes :)

Fun
This game was epic back in the day. Now days it crashes like f***ing crazy. There are fixes if you want to go into the files and roll it back to a version that doesn't crash. I'd say, don't buy it. If the developers can't be bothered to fix it than they shouldn't have your money.
Don't bother. Crashes so much it might as well be tagged a "CTD Sim game"

Top down spellcasting game where you combine 8 elements into different spells. Completely broken mechanics and everything being a glass cannon put this firmly into the comedy game genre. Well worth it
Paradox messed up the game. Constantly crashes and many things bug-out. There's a gajillion DLC and in-game purchases. Don't buy this game on steam.

...Yeah, not even thirty minutes in for the gameplay, and the game crashes. Gonna say that it's a bad idea to get this game on that merit alone.
The actual game itself is interesting, at the very least, but being entirely honest; just don't get this game. It's way too old, too lacking in updates, and what DLC it has on offer is not really worth it unless you want more levels to move through (likely slowly, if you're not spamming Haste).
If the sequel's more stable, try that one. Skip this initial entry for all of the "nope" that I've been throwing around (I mean for goodness' sake, the OS requirements are XP, Vista and 7...and we no longer have support for 7 on Steam, so you tell me if that's not a bad sign).
Crashes too much to play, so I can't really review it.
I might look into fixing the crashes, but in the short time I did play, it bombards you with a system where you have to press a complex series of buttons to do anything and it's not fun. I have pretty nimble fingers, play instruments, type quickly, etc and it's still too much digital stress for me to enjoy.

I missed goofing around in this game. I wondered why I tossed it in the hidden list as I reinstalled. Then I tried to play and remembered why, because some worthless trash decided it wont allow you to play if the steam overlay isnt turned on
This game has it all: fun and addictive gameplay, bugs, crashes, softlocks—you name it. I can't stand the start menu theme anymore because of how often the game crashes.
It's barely playable even with all the fixes. In multiplayer, you can expect even more crashes and bugs.
This is great for having a good time in CO-OP
One of the best co-op games on Steam.
10/10 would take the helm again.

multiplayer does not work at all, i wish they would fix it. its a really cool game and i bought it for my friends and family so we could all play together and it doesn't work.

Not many of my 800+ games make it past 100 hrs and this is a solid little co-op game at its core. Ignore the DLC and just play the game and you'll have a wonderful time.
Single player is lots of cheesy fun, I have played through it several times. You have to find the special spellbooks and equipment yourself, but other than that every combination of direct spells, weapon imbues, self and area casts are open to you from the get go, letting you do some insane stuff if you know how. See here for examples.
Multiplayer just doesn't work. Needs to be changed to use Steam rather than their own broken lobby system. Guess I can't blame something from 12 years ago for that. There is a general air of jank, some charming and some frustrating, and it's lousy with unnecessary DLC (thanks Paradox). But you really can't go wrong for a sale price of £2.12.
Fingers crossed for a nice polished Magicka 3(D) someday. Obviously, Arrowhead are quite busy with other things lately...
Not played this in a while. Come back to find I can't get far enough to actually play the game before it crashes.
Crashed at the new privacy policy agreement several times, I thought it would never work. Then I managed to get for enough to start a new campaign and it either crashes in the cutscene or just as it ends.
Can't recommend in its current state, which is a shame as I remember having much fun with it.

I used to love it back in the day and decided to give it another go because it's indeed a great game. Sadly, there are many bugs from those days that still persist, including the sudden game crash. I know some people have modded or rolled back to previous versions to prevent this bug but I ain't gonna do it. Here, have my thumb down. Rest in peace.

Not worth the time playing today... it buggs. It crashes and devs have no intention of fixing it. Don't waste your money. Maybe it was fun 10 years ago... not today.
Crash immediately at the first tutorial and the game isn't optimized up to date.
The Good:
1. I think the game play is pretty good
2. The graphics are nice
The bad:
1. Game is buggy af
2. Crashes constantly
3. Should not be allowed to be sold in this state
4. The checkpoint system is unforgiving for new player, the crashes make this a whole lot worse by erasing the progress when you change a scene

Sorry my english, I've played this game for a while (even more in the past) and now, when I have a problem, they make it damn near impossible to make a Support ticket! Go to hell, for making impossible!!!!!!!!!!
game continually crashes but seems like it would have been fun
I wish it wasn't was bugged as it is. Nevertheless, it's a fantastic co-op experience with a campy sense of humor. Some dated references for sure, but that ends up as part of the charm.
Tried to play this recently but it has severe compatibility issues now.
