Игроки смогут объединять волшебные элементы, чтобы использовать заклинания, сея хаос и разрушения в сердцах приспешников тьмы. Кроме того, можно сыграть и с друзьями, проходя через жестокие дебри кампании, или же проверить свои навыки создания заклинаний с помощью других режимов игры.
До четырех игроков могут отправиться в Magicka ради спасения своего мира, используя полностью динамическую систему заклинаний. Приключенческий режим отправит игроков в три разных уровня, в котором им встретятся как пышные леса, так и горные аллеи, ведущие к замороженным залам Горного короля, где нужно будет применить весь свой ум и проворность для того, чтобы победить врага.
В разблокируемом игровом режиме повышенной сложности игрокам предстоит сражаться с волнами врагов, соревнуясь за первые места в таблице лучших.

Actually keeps crashing, it's not only PC tuner kids complaining about their unstable PCs, this game actually just crashes and freezes all over the place.

Maybe. The magic system was too complex for me, but the game is still fun especially in co-op.

Had a lot of fun with friends in this one.
I wish this game worked, but it's unf***ing playable. Between the unadjustable difficulty, the crashes I could set me watch to, and the ease at which you get wall-locked or thrown off the map, it's a god damn mess.

Lots of fun, it's super buggy and keeps crashing... not playable.
That being said I just found Magicka 2 with "Very Positive" reviews and am about to try it out!
I really wanted to enjoy this game to its fullest. Experimenting with element magic on the fly, fun co-op and a game that doesn't take itself to seriously make this game great but my god is it a broken, buggy mess. Buyer beware.

Used to be a great game, now its basically malware. I crashed so hard I couldn't use my browser, nothing on steam would load, discord wouldn't boot up, had to restart pc 5 times, hard shut down twice, mess with my internet adapter, then it randomly fixed. Just pirate and old version and use hamachi for multiplayer this game will try to brick your comp.
Running certain DLC just crashes the game. Ought to be some kind of criminal prosecution. fuck paradox lmao

Crashes every 10mins. Got stuck out of bounds during the tutorial multiple times, i.e. their physics engine sucks. Way too many buttons to use and time doesn't stop while you decide what spell to use
I like the part where it functions
I bounced off ths game. I couldn't figure out where the fun was. Maybe the only way to play this is with more than one person cause the single player game was as substantial as a tissue.
This is one of my favorite games of all time. It's fun, funny, charming, and inventive, and playing it with friends is one of the best experiences I've had in a video game.
But this game has been broken, and left to rot. It is unplayable in its current state, and Paradox shows no signs of fixing it. I wish I could give this game a positive review, just like I wish I could play it.
Crashes so much now. They made a final update years ago and broke the game, then left it as is.

This game is most well known as being a go-to example of a game where you can compose more complex spells from simpler components.
It is a good game, but if you want that spell composition feature, I would like to recommend other games.
Worlds of Legend: Sons of the Empire (1993) is not very well known, but it is a pre-Diablo isometric Action RPG, and it does have spell composition too. It is of course a sequel to Legend (1992), IMO the sequel is better, it fixes some of the annoyances of the original.
And of course Noita is a great, recent game based on this.
In Magicka, all spells are "scripted" (you enter a combination of runes and the devs have programmed some of them to have various effects). In Noita and Legend, spell composition is more like programming.

Constant crashing
Such an amazing game, plagued by game breaking bugs and no developer support.
This game crashes a LOT, at least in multiplayer.
The magic system is a lot of fun. Definitely recommend it.

Had to combine TWO FIXES from the Steam Discussion Forums to get this to work without crashing...

The github one alone didn't work, but perhaps the d3d9 one does. I'm not sure. Either way, this should not be happening with a game, no matter how little you pay for it.
Game's story is amusing but I died so many times to drowning in the first level trying to grab the spellbooks. I fell in the water, lost my fairy, went to the next area, accidentally forgot I was soaked, and electrocuted myself. The game DOES NOT CHECKPOINT IN BETWEEN SOME MAP TRANSITIONS, so I had to go back and redo the whole super drowning skills multiple times. Ice just does not stick around long enough.
Very frustrating. Would love an overhaul mod for the difficulty and lack of checkpoints.

OLD REVIEW
Tons of potential, but an unfortunately cumbersome control scheme and crashing issues drag this one down. It crashed in the intro right after the boss. That's unacceptable. The shop is also annoyingly pushed within the main menu.
