While relatively short, the storyline captures the imagination - in a world that is quite plausible. The ending had me in tears, and surprised me with an after-credits scene. For those about to play/playing - don't skip it! Amazing job KeokeN Interactive and Wired Productions - I'm off to play Deliver Us Mars.
This is not what I thought it was. I expected something more like The Crust. This is more like Myst. Find the items you need to proceed. As such it isn't really for me. I'm voting yes but I'm not going to finish or play any more.
A nice short story-driven game. The performance on Steam Deck after half of the campaign is not good tho. It shouldn't be verified.
They may not have delivered us the moon but they delivered us a damn good videogame. Keyboard users like me are going to have to put up with WASD, but it's worth it for the immersive, solitary atmosphere, involving puzzles making use of both first and third person, and (for what it is) an effective story well told. Puzzle games set in space hold an allure for me and this is one of the best ones I've played.
Not normally a big fan of space theme games but I let myself be tempted by the story driven aspect of Deliver Us The Moon, and I'm happy I have.
This is a beautiful and breathtaking journey with various gameplay, sometimes a little bit challenging, and an intriguing story told by really interesting characters (the english dub is very good).
Not sure if this made me appreicate the genre a little bit more but this was definitely a good attempt out of my comfort zone.
Most. Definitely. Recommended.
This game has been an absolute pleasure to play. Very immersive in both story and detailed environments. The game has a variety of paces in it's approach. Nothing is ever too much of a challenge: although heavily puzzle-based and challenging - I never found myself having to stop and come back to it out of frustration.
It is Atmospheric. Captivating. Very engaging.
(Be sure to catch a good walkthrough so you don't miss any collectibles along the way.)
If you're a 'Stop and smell the roses' kind of gamer, do not miss this sleeper hit.
9 Hours Playtime.
Muy bueno, me gusta que es corto. Me recuerda mucho a varias cosas. Las vibes son al estilo de la pelicula First Man por momentos. Tambien la forma de contar la historia (viendo hologramas en una estacion espacial abandonada) tiene el estilo de el inicio del KOTOR 2. Me soprendio.
good game the music fits nicely, ray tracing however wasnt optimized, at a certain place you would get heavy lag spikes and then if you turn RT off, upon collision with objects your character speed would go 0 until you jump, so yeah a few bugs here and there but overall i liked the game, achievement hunting is easy as well
Good story and it got to the point fairly quickly. I enjoyed it and I also enjoyed that I did not have to sink too much hours into it.
Amazing tale, simple mechanics and stunning views. Recommend
wow, Been a while since i played something good, 100% pat on the back to all involved with making this ...
Beautiful game, immersive visuals, quite good controls, loved the changes in pace, very moving story. Lekker gewerkt!
Very good game. Story was awesome and hit in the feels. Graphics were nice and although it was a short game (6.6hrs) I highly recommend. It was worth playing for me.
Neat little game. It's not too heavy on the gameplay side. Could almost call it a bit of a walking sim, altough there's some light puzzeling and jumping challanges here and there. That's not necessarily bad thou. If you like exploring a story through voice-logs and environmental storytelling (like Bioshock for instance, but without the combat) then this might be up your alley.
The story is well paced and leaves enough questions open to drive you forward till the end. The graphics are pretty gorgeous at times.
It is my first time writing a review for a game, it is that good and that immersing. Finally something good enough grab the attention of a gamer with 33 gaming years under his belt.
For 2 dollars it is a steal. Plays great on Steam Deck at Epic Graphic settings.
Thank you for the such a masterpiece of a game.
This is so boring game and there is nothing different between levels, everything is similar and physics sucks lol
Awesome space exploration / walking / puzzle game. Beautiful, engaging with just enough mechanics for the playtime that there's no boredom at any point. Very nice!
A very very fun story game with lots to explore, cool graphics and fun puzzles! Really enjoyed this and almost completed it in one go, I just didn't want to stop playing! Cinematic masterpiece.
Nicely put-together, although short game. My play time was 5 hours, but I thoroughly enjoyed it. A lot more puzzle-based than I was anticipating, but that part turned out to be quite fun. Just the right level of complexity to require some thought, but not so difficult as to be emotionally crushing. :-D Recommended.
I played this on the Steam Deck. I enjoyed my time with it. It didn't feel like it overstayed its welcome. It's a good looking game, but it can be really choppy in different places. It can range anywhere between 20 - 60 FPS. It's certainly a lot better when you're inside.
Incredible game. Great story, good puzzles, great graphics and controls. LOVED it.
If you love science fiction as well as a good mystery than this game is for you!
I found this game to be very emotionally written which makes it feel very real. I couldn't help but get really invested in each character to the point that I felt like I was watching a movie. Some parts I was telling the characters "No! Don't do that!" Other times I was encouraging them to hang on just a little longer. Very good game and story.
Really poor performance, crashed many times. Tried many different settings incuding a maxed out and all low DX11/12 - there was no way to load the props textures in a readible format, if there wasn't this read-what-you-have-in-your-hand feature this would be a stopper since you have to find some codes to pass some doors.
Again really poor performance for such a poor gfx. Clumsy movement. Switching again and agein between FPP and TPP this is not something that I like.
Thinking about positives - the puzzles are not that bad, somethimes you have games where you have to the same kind of stupid puzzles and here they were not that bad, a bit different every time.
Really good story development in the first half of the game with sequences I didn't expect in a game like that which kept me very involved. However the second half has a sharp slowdown and the last hour is very repetitive. I'd say the fun of the first half outweighs the frustration of the second one.
Works great on Linux. Well, overall I liked the experience very much. Graphics, story, soundtrack were all good. Polish translation was messed up on input settings screens and some game fonts were missing Polish diacritic letters.
This review is based on 100% completion and 6.4 hours of gameplay.
Recommendation:
Would I recommend this game? Yes, it's an okay little game. It’s highly narrative-driven, with no combat and some easy puzzle-solving, so don’t go in expecting more than that. For what it is, though, I thought it was decent. There’s one caveat I’ll mention below.
The gameplay mechanics can feel quite clunky and awkward at times, and the FOV during the first-person sections felt too close, which was a bit disorienting. However, the low-gravity sections were done really well and felt good to play, which was a nice touch. The controls themselves were simple and easy to use.
The story was well done and engaging enough to hold your attention until the end. The music and sound design fit nicely into the game, with nothing feeling out of place. On max settings, the graphics were surprisingly good, especially the space scenes. The lighting and shading are particularly well done and help elevate the game’s overall visual quality.
Overall, it was a nice little experience. While I don’t see much replayability other than perhaps for nostalgia later on, the single playthrough was enjoyable. That said, I don’t think the game is worth the base price, so I’d recommend waiting for a good sale, which happens regularly. It’s a much more reasonable price for the content you get.
Caveat:
There have been a decent number of reports online and in Steam discussions about game-breaking bugs, so keep that in mind when purchasing.
I personally encountered one issue during my playthrough. I played up to Chapter 4, "Copernicus Outpost," in one sitting and decided to stop right at the start of the chapter. When I returned, my ASE companion had disappeared, and you need it to complete that section.
No amount of reloading worked, and I couldn’t recall the ASE because I didn’t have the option. I had to replay the last chapter via chapter select to get back to that point, and I completed the rest of the game in one sitting. So be aware that you might encounter a similar issue if you don’t finish the game in one go.
Achievements:
The achievements in this game aren’t hard. Most are tied to story progression and collectables, with a few miscellaneous ones in each chapter.
I used two guides during my playthrough: one by skf_mikeweber (which you can find here. ) to guide me through most of the game, though I found some parts a bit lacking, so I used another by RobotMan #08 (which you can find here. ) to fill in the gaps, particularly for the miscellaneous achievements, which each chapter has at least one of.
None of the achievements are difficult, and with the chapter select option, there aren’t really any missables. I also didn’t experience any issues with achievements unlocking.
Since the game has many positive review and is 5 years old I will allow myself a negative one for once.
I didn't like the game despite completing it because I'm very easy on space and robot stuffs.
The story and the architecture of the places don't make any sense.
Examples:
- oh the earth completely ran out of resources, out of the blue ? But sure let's somehow build entire settlements, industries and a helium-3 nuclear fission reactor, on the moon, in only 2 years ! Elon would be proud !
- oh apparently the entire space administration doesn't have any more resource to setup a rescue mission ? But sure, let's gather a tiny crew and do that anyway, and in complete secrecy.
- oh I'm the astronaut, part of a crew that I talk to on the radio, but I have to do the preparation for liftoff in the control room myself, and then litterally run to reach the rocket that is a mere 50 meters away from the control room !
The whole game is one big corridor, with some story bits that don't make sense and obnoxious mini games in between.
Very good story-telling game. It's rather an interactive story with lots of minigames, than a game. I liked the most the feel of "authenticity" of my presence and the movement in the Moon environment.
I've played also the sequel - Deliver Us Mars (in fact I played it first) - and it is even better (better story, fewer minigames).
Ok game but hate the final final objective.Made it more complicated the needed.
Absolutely beautiful experience. I wasn't too engaged in the beginning, but when I gave it second try, I was blown up by challenging puzzles and captivating story.
And yes, I cried in the end.
It absolutely worth its money. A sci-fi, yet very human experience.
I give it a solid 3.5/5
It's like a book you'd only read once. The game itself is okay, interesting perspective and story but is not entirely special. At the end of the game, the constant passing out animations got pretty annoying. It was too fast repeating, and it was difficult to tell where to align the power radar thingy because of how slow it was, how often he nodded off, and the timer. Then after that, the animations before you reach Sarah are... just annoying and repetitive. Good work overall :)
A very interesting experience. The engaging dystopic scifi story is told with holograms and messages. Slightly forseeable for fans of famous scifi books and movies, but clever and intriguing nonetheless. The mechanics are quite mediocre, some puzzles can be annoying . A nice soundtrack helps to deliver the emotions.
Took me 7 hours, so it's not a huge journey, nor one that warants multiple playthroughs due a completely linear story. But it left me curious for more. Bought part 2, let's see how it continues.
1 thing about the graphics. Okay, but not for the frankly horrific stuttering with any RT level on a decent rig (5900X/3080).
i had an ok time before the aligned circle bs this game is meh way too many astronaut sht to do watch it on youtube
Absolutely brilliant game. Kept me intrigued and it was a beautiful game. Music absolutely stunning. Also loved the side challenges which added to wanting to achieve going further. Well done! Looking forward to playing Deliver Us Mars
Short but to the point story, very worth it on sale
A satisfyingly challenging adventure about the space and the dangers in there.
It's like if the "Interstellar" movie was a game, but without the pseudo-scientific "parallel dimensions" plot. Just brutal space exploration.
Loved almost every minute of it, except maybe for the final "boss".
Money well spent, overall.
I have mixed feelings on this game. The beginning doesn't properly introduce the characters. So, I didn't even know who I was for half the game. Which disconnected me from what was happening and I failed to emotionally connect with what was happening until mid game. Mid game and ending I felt were emotionally compelling and pretty good story telling. So, I recommend it. If you stay committed you will enjoy it.
one of the best sci-fi games imho.
I enjoyed this game even though Deliver Us Mars is significantly better. I'm looking forward to playing the next game in the series.
A fantastic game, an absolute dream come true. The story is 10/10 as well. So many layers of complexity, moral, ethical, ecological, economic…
Enjoyable storyline. The gameplay was very linear (not open world), but this was actually a benefit for me, as I have limited time to play, and this way I didn't waste a bunch of time wandering around lost.
Got this on sale for sub $10, for about 8 hours of gameplay. Not bad. Looking forward to the sequel so I can find out what happens next!
Great if a bit predictible story, good visuals and audio.
And almost sciencetifically accurate (no artificial gravity!)
I really enjoyed it.
It took me 4.5hs to complete game, i could try to complete all the achievements but that´s not for me. Its a good game, with nice atmosphere, good history and adequate music.
I couldnt get over the fact that in order to activate the cutting laser, the game forces you to zoom in first. The time delay between pressing the fire button, and being completely zoomed in and actually firing the laser is about 2 seconds. It might not sound like much, but i'd rather spend those 2 extra seconds firing the thing instead of waiting for it to be fired. Especially when you're already dealing with sluggish movement in zero G and tight spaces.
Great story though at times obvious in its direction.
Sadly zero replay ability. i completed the story in under 4 hours and that was me taking my time.
Movement is a little clunky at times as well.
id only buy the game if it was on sale for less than £10 tbh.
After about 4 hours I am out.
If you like clunky character moevements, timed jump+run events like a platformer, than this game is for you.
If you like a good indeep story and a nice chilled atmosphere (no pun), look for something else or just save your money, even on a sale.
There is mostly no time to enjoy the nice views, this game seems to offer, because most of the time you are in a hurry to speed-run a task to proceed before dying or whatever tiner runs out.
I will def not finish this game, too many short timed events, even that puzzles are easy/dumb.
But the timers kill the game.
If unsure, search for "timer" in the game's forum.
TLDR: great story, completed the game in ~5 hours, totally worth it, so I DO RECOMMEND.
more:
quite original storytelling: protagonist is kinda one and only actor here,
everybody else are shadows of the past or distant voices.
visual representation is great, sound/music is good, story is good, quests are non-obvious and challenging.
in general: very good movie I would say :)
the story isn't very refined but the idea of being earths final effort to restore the moonbase is a good enough fantasy of mine to keep going.
it's fun to explore the station, but you spend a lot of time inside. it's a lot more fun playing with zero gravity and then being outside on the moon, but you only get to experience both of those things a few times.
the game does hold your hand a lot. i never once had to think about the solution, just run from one flashing thing to the next flashing thing. a little more faith in the player to find the solution would go a long way.
rocket launch at the start was easily the best moment.
I love the narrative and it is really immersive. For some reason, I felt like this game might be a short unity-style situation but it was way more than that. It is perfect with an engaging plot making me want more and finishing it like 3 days after downloading. An amazing experience!
It's a very pretty game, but not any fun.
The game is all Half Life style puzzles, but they're really obtuse and tedious. I paid six dollars for the game, and still feel like it isn't worth it.
I'm two and a half hours in, just getting to the monorail part, and I don't think I'm going to bother with finishing the game.
The main character controls like a boat. I can excuse the major inertia while moving in zero-G, but I can't excuse the inertia while looking in zero-G. That causes me a ton of motion sickness, and doesn't contribute to the game at all.
The extreme inertia while running in gravity (even in earth's gravity) is unrealistic and annoying, although I guess not a fatal flaw. (Also, why is there moon-like gravity in the depressurized areas of the moon, but earth-like gravity in the pressurized areas of the moon? That makes no sense.)
