Выбор у девушки невелик: либо разгадать тайну поместья, либо стать очередной жертвой Сущности.

Tedious, repetitive, uninspired
I want to love this game but after playing the first couple chapters and putting it down I'm sad to say it wasn't for me. I love the main mechanic of navigating a space via echolocation, turning the main character's disability into a novel and enthralling gameplay experience. The voice acting is phenomenal and the story almost hooked me.
Unfortunately it falls down quite a bit in execution. The first bit of the game feels entirely too easy and gives you too much warning for when you're in danger and not - and then later on, quietly drops that in favor of just making the monster appear at particular points in the story. The game autosaves, but far too infrequently, so if one of those catches you off guard you might be retracing your steps for quite a while. It also seems weird that tapping my cane is an issue but radios can start blasting, explosions can occur, all that without the monster taking notice. It's possible that's explained later but I'm not sticking it out til then.
Worth noting that the settings menu is not navigable on controller and I had a lot of issues getting the game run on Steam Deck.
Overall this was cool to try but missed more than it hit for me. Still definitely interested in future games from these devs, there's a lot of talent on display that I think could be refined into a better game.
This game makes for a unique and interesting bite-sized horror experience. The concept of playing through the perspective of a blind person in a haunted house is absolutely genius, and I think it was executed as well as it could have been. The mechanics are on point, limiting your vision enough to enhance the fear factor while still giving you the tools needed to navigate adequately. It CAN get confusing at times, but thankfully the game implements a waypoint system that points you to the very general direction of your next objective.
My critisims are few and minor:
-The voice acting of the protagonist, while very good and believable, is a bit distracting. I personally would have preffered to play as a silent or mostly silent protagonist, but that's very subjective.
-I also didn't like that we see the silhouette of the primary monster. For a game that prides itself in limiting visual information to the player, we get too good a look at the primary monster and it's really not that scary a design in my opinion. I think it would have been scarier if it were more like Bird Box in that we never actually see what it looks like and use sound design to imply when it finds you, except maybe in the end sequence.
Will it scare you?
There are a few jumpscares, but nothing like a goofy looking face jumping in front of you and yelling "ooga-booga!" The sound design is masterfully crafted to make the atmosphere feel realistic despite not seeing much of it. This all helps to immerse the player and make them feel like they're in danger. As mentioned before, I didn't find the actual design of the primary monster to be that scary, but the dread of knowing it's there is what really supplied the fear factor for me.
Overall, great game. 8/10, legitimately scary to those who can get immersed in the atmosphere. Due to the factor of limited vision, you probably won't want to play more than once, but it's absolutely worth a try.
I am blind and I would love to play this game. Unfortunately this game does not work with my screen reader.
I would not recommend this game for blind and visually impaired players as it's not accessible. I feel if the developers of this game should have made it more accessible to the blind as it has a blind character in it. I hope they will think about upgrading this game and make it more accessible and turn based and for it to work with screen readers. If the game the vail can be accessible why not perception. I hope more game developers will think about the disabled community and how to make their games more accessible. Its not just the sighted world who like to play video and PC games. Us blind folk like to play games too.
literally nothing remotely scary about this game. you can spam your cane and make the presence show up and hide literally whenever you want, thats the only time the presence really shows up is when i cause it lmao. save your money, buy something else
