Developer Note:
Hi! This game is definitely a bit dated and rough around the edges. It was inspired by our love for Deus Ex, Bloodlines, and other similar games of that age. Some of the jank definitely shows! That being said, we think it's still an interesting mystery full of complex characters, a unique Slavic-Steampunk-esque setting, and some good bits of freeform exploration. We hope you can look past the flaws and enjoy what's under the hood :)
Karaski: What Goes Up... is an "immersive sim lite" game where you freely explore the whole airship, talk to all passangers, and find new tools to get around or unlock new paths. Sneak around the lower decks without getting spotted, break into passenger cabins, bribe the staff with stolen alcohol, and gather the clues to unravel the mystery!
Who is the saboteur? Who can be saved?
Each suspect has a secret and unique personality you can uncover in a nonlinear manner via dialogue, stealth, breaking into their rooms, or getting them drunk! Customize your playstyle with a number of tools but don't get spotted snooping - others will call you out on it and start suspecting you as well. Who knows, maybe it really was you all along? At times the game will let you dictate the narrative.

It's okay. Following the story thread is engaging, and snooping around the admittedly tiny airship is good fun. 2 gripes: It's not a im-sim, but a metroidvania. Items you pick up only have 1 use case every time, which is fine but wasn't what I expected. Also, it lacks some of the detail that could have made the game more fun, like how footsteps don't propagate through walls convincingly, or the lack of distinct humming ambience I would expect from a steam powered aircraft (could have been drowned out by the music, but the point stands).
It's another one of those games that makes you wish there was a "neutral" option for reviews.
I have to admit that I rather enjoyed my first run of the game. The mystery felt intriguing, the gameplay smooth enough to not bother me much, and it was satisfying to explore the ship and overcome the obstacles in what felt like my own unique way.
Unfortunately, that fascination didn't last long. The story doesn't have a satisfying ending, asking you to come up with your own conclusion which could've worked, I guess, but in this case just felt lazy, several of the design choices and mechanics started to grate after a few hours of playing, and of course having to work around the bugs made the experience even more tiresome.
That might just be me nitpicking, of course.
What got to me the most though was that none of your choices and exploration matter in the end. You can blame whomever you want without having to learn anything about them. For a story-driven game that was not something I could accept.
I've seen this game compared to Consortium and while it has it's own share of questionable moments I'd still recommend it over this one. But if you're satisfied with making up your own story and don't mind filling in the blanks then, sure, give this one a try as well.
Pretty decent indie immersive sim. I don't usually leave reviews but I think this game deserves more attention. There was one annoying bug where guard NPCs would be stuck behind doors or objects, making sneaking past them, according to their patrol route, impossible. Not a huge deal, since you can in theory run away and you're not penalised too heavily for getting caught. Also I couldn't find the tool to open vents, so I didn't manage to complete all the objectives/explore every area. It's a pretty short game, but fun, recommended for a light delve into a cute universe.
Great little game, plot goes much deeper than the cartoonish graphics suggest, really recommended to anyne enjoying adventure games

Karaski: What Goes Up... is an interesting experiment in the nature of interactive storytelling. The gameplay isn't particularly difficult, though there is an option to make it harder if that's important to you. Gameplay consists mostly of sneaking around restricted areas of the airship you're on in order to solve the mystery of who has sabotaged it. The mystery itself is the primary driver of the game though, with the big payoff coming when you realize just how player-driven the whole affair really is.
Karaski: What Goes Up... is an art piece. You'll probably only play it a few times, but I bet you'll think about it a lot more than that. Definitely earns a recommendation from me.
High Flyin' Mystery
This pretty much unknown game deserves your time if you are a fan of well written mysteries.
The story is entirely set into an airship in a fictional soviet-like 1920's state with its undeniable charm, quirkiness, and latent fears, cleverly recreated not by top-notch graphics, but by a clever low-fi decor of socialist-realism-like inspiration.
It's not as much about the stealth or clue hunting; however it's all about the lovingly crafted atmosphere and some pretty intricate characters, including your very self.
This is a sensational First Person Adventure game in the vein of Titantic Adventure Out of Time and others. You'll love the espionage and the quirky characters. The story and the environment is immersive. Hurry up and buy this indie gem!

This is a really well made mystery game with light stealth elements.
The game gives you a lot of freedom in how you want to solve the game. You can even shape the backstory by talking to people.
The writing is great, the graphics are great if simple.
Awesome game. Definitely recommended.
Fun game. Great atmosphere, music and graphics. Will definitely replay this one a few times to see what else I can discover.
This was a fantastic mystery game. I really loved the setting, and the suspect characters were very well done, each with their own potential motives. Chances are you may not be able to decide on the culprit your first time through, and this makes you want to go back and look for more and more clues. I was surprised by the amount of detail put into this game, and I'd love to play another just like this. It might not be for everyone, but it's right up my alley. If you like trying to piece together clues to solve a mystery, you'll definitely love Karaski.
I wish there was a neutral or a maybe button, to be honest. This game isn't bad, but I can't recommend it.

To be fair, the bugs killed it for me. If the game were bug-free and the problems I found were fixed entirely, I'd probably change my review. The developer did say he'd look at the second bug I found, so there's hope.
I really thought I would enjoy this. I set my hopes a bit too high. I love mystery adventure games and really believed that maybe we have something new going on here. What I experienced was nothing short of mediocrity wrapped in a blanket of promise. First let me say that the premise of the game appeared to be Agatha Christy like and that appealed to me. I thought I would give it a go. At first it seemed like it was going to be a fantastic mystery but then things became monotonous and unchallenging. There is a plot here but it does not really matter at all. Lots of boring dialogue with very uninteresting characters that made the game feel more of a chore than a challenge. No puzzles or enigmas to deal with. Then we have the the stealth part that is nothing more than listening to footsteps. Really nothing here that I would call over the top. There is no challenge, there is nothing at all actually. Very mediocre attempt at making a good experience.
It is a interesting game though at sometimes it seems there may be bugs with getting achievements that may need to be looked into. I don't know when precisely or how this bug happens.
