About the Game;
Little Mouse's Encyclopedia is a game to discover the fascinating world of nature together with Little Mouse! Together you will learn more about countless animal and plant species in their natural habitat.
All of this in beautifully painted forests, ponds and gardens, the art of the game is very nice and peaceful.
Through the different habitats/maps you can discover more than 160 animal and plant species.
Obviously it is no storyteller game, nor is it a game of difficulty.
The main target is a younger audience, to learn them about the nature around them, mainly focused on Europa.
It is a point and click style game, but the Little Mouse walks through each habitat, giving information about the animals and/or plants around you.

Overall : 5/5
You get the first 3 cards fast, and for your first badge you only need 2 more.
These are cheap on the market, but limited. A boosterpack costs 1200 gems.

Cute and informative 💚
Very, very cute and cozy. It seems like it was made for a much younger audience in mind given the surface level depth of information each discoverable had. But still, it's a pretty good introduction into some of the things you may find around your neighbourhood and can surely whet the appetite of those who are curious to learn more outside the game. :)
Very relaxing, informative and overall fantastic.
Cute, informative and artistic.
My two year old enjoys this game a lot. There's not a lot of games to teach mouse skills on PC for a pre-reading level child. My only two complaints is that the encyclopedia pages are not narrated, which makes the content mostly inaccessible for pre-reading toddlers. My other complaint is that the X in the top right to close out is always visible and distractsvmy kid to get in "open and close the game" loops. Not as huge a deal as the lack of voice over on the text content, but something to keep in mind if you're a parent looking for something on Steam for your young one. All in all I enjoy the peaceful and mildly educational tone of this game, I wish there was more content like it on Steam.
I love this game, it is a great game to play when stressed if you like learning more about the natural world! It's probably meant for kids but I enjoy the cozy vibes and learning cool facts about plants and animals.
Cute, but very primitive 'game' which only offers minimal level of interactions and limited number of animals and plants.
You can make this 'Little Mouse' follow a pre scripted path using a click and dragging magnifier to living beings display basic info about them.
You know what I did as a toddler? My parents bought me a huge Dorling-Kindersley encyclopedias full of pictures and I used my imagination, making a walking figure using my tiny fingers and had all kind of adventure with these books. You might as let your kid do that too, because:
1) Doing that is not that different from level of interactivity this game offers, this Little Mouse fella is not a well explained character and can be replaced with literally anything.
2) With DK books you can let your kid see how they really look in real life because there are well taken photos in these books not drawings like in this game.
3) It's really a better method. I'm not giving you another 'games bad, books good' take. These books have more content in them, and you can carry them anywhere, you don't need your PC at all. And If, just if you're trying to use this 'game' to convince your partner that Steam can be something more than a gaming platform... It's not going to work.
For reasons I explained above, my final verdict for this game is: Not recommended.
There's no story, and barely any content. I wouldn't buy this for my imaginary kid. Buy only if you're in desperate need of cheap, easy 100% achievements.
I'm giving "Little Mouse's Encyclopedia" a negative review because I expected a cute, chill game with a bit of narrative, as that's the kind of game I enjoy. Unfortunately, this is a learning "game" for very young children. The gameplay consists of clicking on objects like bugs and plants, which brings up an "encyclopedia" card that explains what you clicked on. That's basically it. It popped up in my Steam recommendations, but it wasn't what I was looking for.
