I'm probably missing something but the game seems incredibly shallow. I wanted to build my own apartment building and rent out to tenants, but was in the negatives the whole time waiting for people to fill in so I could make more money, but it never got out of the red, and there wasn't anything I could do because I was just sitting there waiting for more tenants so I could make more money. I was on Easy difficulty too.
I like games that give me interesting decisions and it doesn't seem like there are many to make here. Its a very simple money management game where you do it the way it wants you to or you lose. Not my kind of game at all.
Game is overall good but some bugs makes me sad and am stop playing.
"Lack of luxury apartments" bug when you have tons of lux apartments of all kind but game claimed you don't.
Roof is not working, people not going there. It seems this functinoality is not finished in game.
Game has no notification system so in case one of the office or shop has issue you never know it until it go out.
Love this game so much, infinite design possibilities. Downside is Steam only allow up to 50 mods subscribed, even there were hundreds of good design mods out there!!
It's fine.
But it's simply not user friendly. The hot key menu can't be changed while in game and there are not enough available hotkeys assignments.
E.g.: Moving a unit has to be done manually with mouse clicks. There is no hotkey to instigate a move. It's far more time consuming than it needs to be.
It's a slog and very repetitive.
The game will trick you into installing mods, because there's an achievement for installing and activating a mod in the game, but then without warning you or giving any indication it has done so, permanently disables earning any other achievements for that save file. By the time you figure out why achievements aren't triggering any more, you most likely no longer have any autosaves untainted by mods since that's the only way to save and they only allow you 3 autosave slots which they rotate between.
Unbelievably underhanded and shameful disrespect for customers and our time. I'm 20 hours in to the game and now I'll have to start over from the beginning and waste 20 hours of my life just to be able to unlock the remaining achievements. I am seeing red right now I am so fucking angry.
I will never buy a game from these devs again in my life and I encourage all of you to do the same. Do not buy this game, so not buy any SomaSim games. Fuck these assholes!
I found out about this game looking around during the Winter Sale and recommendations based on what I like to play (City-Building, Time Management, Business, etc.). Bought the base game on sale for a couple of dollars, got addicted and got all the DLC. I got everything for less than 9.99. Best value and replay-ability. Definitely worth it.
Wonderful little game. Some of the scenarios can be quite challenging. Love the Las Vegas DLC.
A little dated. Who needs pay phones today. Tutorial could be better. Also, I built 52 stories high and get a message I am at my limit, and that I need to build a plaza which takes at least 5 titles (spaces). No warning when I stared the building to leave at least 5 spaces...so no plaza no expansion.
Start slow to let income build up for expansion and improvements (some of which cost money on a regular basis which works out once you have the more expense units to rent out.
Good simple time waster that can be scaled to micromanagement hellscape. Super duper fun and workshop support is also good value. The music design is fantastic.
Wake up. Play Project Highrise. Go to bed. Think about playing Project Highrise. Wake up. Play Project Highrise.
Excelent game. I recommend it to people who want to remember the old Sim Tower. This game is the true definition of "simple but complicated at the same time."!

futureproofing hell, where no matter how hard you try you WILL have to remake your tower and it WILL suck. good game though.
You can up the rent on the people that you started with to get higher paying people when they leave. This game makes me hate real estate people even more. Very realistic.

i want to not like it, but i like it.
its simple, its genuine, and it doesnt care at all. you could create whatever tower you want with whatever tenants, and the game just goes with it. its a tight economy game, where small mistakes start to snowball until you crash your economy, buts thats part of the fun.
its a simple management game, yes, but its a nice one.
one of those strange games where you could play one or two hours and be done with it for the day.
Project Highrise is a perfectly average game that might be for you but I found it aimless and repetitive.

Bought the DLC and etc on sale. Finished all the scenarios. I think its a good game similar to Sim tower of old days.
Take it as a chill game and sometime to relax on.
Sure, it might have some annoyances and stuff but the workshop mods help to solve that.
I feel the game becomes highly repetitive, once you understand the mechanics at your chosen level of difficulty. It can be a flow moment for you, but I feel it's hard to justify more than 10 hours on this game. It is a modern SimTower, nothing more, nothing less.
Such a fun game that I can play while distracted (as long as I don't accidentally leave time sped up), while also offering challenging situations if you want them!

Project Highrise is essentially a Sim Tower remake from the 1990’s, albeit rebuilt for new generation of computer hardware. Seeing as Maxis, the developers of the original Sim Tower/Sim City were dissolved after being bought out by EA, this left a creative gap to be filled in the genre, of which Project Highrise succeeds, further building upon its historic predecessor Sim Tower. I can tell that this is a true passion project by the new developers SomaSim, with full mod support allowing for multiple play-through scenarios.
If you enjoy city builders, this game is a must have. This lil-niche tower management game will compliment your city building itch on a micro scale, with pleasant background music when you just want to zone out after a hard day. I would also recommend the Las Vegas DLC for hotels and casinos and the London/Berlin DLC for better offices, as they add extra depth while furthering the replayability of Project Highrise, without requiring as many workshop mods.
Did you like Sim Tower? Then you'll love this!
Overall, I did enjoy the time I spent playing Project Highrise. Managing a skyscraper full of residential, shops, and offices is fun, but after the skyscraper gets to a certain height, the grind becomes less interesting and more repetitive.
While the game has its flaws, it offers an enjoyable experience.
Grab it when it is on sale.

- Something breaks now requiring more than $1000 to fix
- raises rent or evicts tenants .

Not fun
Fun, until it isn't.
The game has a bit of a steep learning curve as everything is interconnected. The issue is, the tenants have NO patience with you at all, and something as simple as replacing an electrical panel can destroy your entire tower in seconds. If the tenants did not move out at the drop of a hat, and if you did not have to pay to replace them, then perhaps the game would be enjoyable. As it stands, the game will brutally punish you for any tiny reason. Happiest tenants you ever had? Well your electrical panel shorted out for 5 minutes so now they are mad and moved out. Game is brutally unfun. Have had this for a long time because for the longest time I could not even play the game as when I got it originally it didn't even work because of graphical issues. Now that those issues were fixed, figured I would give it a go again. As someone who plays almost exclusively sim and management games, give this one a pass.

it's great to have control over where all your services, offices, trash and residents go.
Very relaxing. 10/10 caution you will loose track of time i spent what i thought was 30 minutes playing this game turns out i played for 3 hours.
