this game is all bosses with a banger soundtrack, i really enjoyed it, the story while short is also really good
Very good boss rush game
I first played this way back when is was free on playstation plus in 2016
I have come crawling back years later
this game makes you feel so badass
the score is absolutely godly
10/10
great thing I NG++++ Sekiro before playing this
fun game to play, wouldnt replay though
I can stop playing this game for months and jump back into it very easy. Nice when I just have an afternoon to kill. Very fun game.
I'm kinda an absolute sucker for incredible animation and great swordfighting mechanics, complete with parrying and dodging. Furi packs all of this and even throws in an absolute banger of a soundtrack that's absolutely worth buying alongside the game.
The super tight combat, epic cinematography, crazy plot twist, and great art direction is incredible. You feel every hit you give and take, and feel awesome while playing it. This game will challenge you, and you'll get frustrated, but you'll come out the other side feeling accomplished.
I didn't buy at full price, but it's certainly worth it!
Currently playing through the DLC, which is an amazing addition so far
Great game with satisfying and fluid combat with engaging bullet hell sequences and parry timing that's fun to master with an amazingly good OST. The Furier difficulty is also a good challenge that allows you to truly master the mechanics of the game.
The first few times you play Furi you're not gonna have a good time as the bosses have no chill and you'll be fighting the controls for a bit till you get used to them, but once you do the game feels more like the boss is stuck in the room with you and not the other way around.
Great soundtrack that syncs pretty much perfectly with the phase you're in. Also one of the few games I've played where increasing the difficulty feels like the bosses play better and you need to be more precise in your timing rather than just getting more health or damage or other unfair bonuses, they do gain a different attack or have modified patterns to their original attacks.
The game feels well polished and I haven't ran into any bugs so far.
Don't let my low playtime deceive you, I've played Furi far more on my Switch and bought it on pc just because I liked it that much, the MUCH MUCH improved graphics and framerate increase is also so much nicer.
The story is pretty simple and rabbit man really risked every other jailer and their whole world just because he wanted to see his kid, why didn't he bring his daughter in like The Hand??? Is he stupid?!?
8/10 game, I love Rider's hair physics and want The Strap to step on me.
Probably the best game you could make in Unity engine, the true ending final boss was terrible but I can forgive that for those bangin tunes and for making it up with Bernard bonus boss.
The most deserved 10/10 ever. Holy shit.
Everything about Furi just screams excellence and absolute FUN. The bosses are such a joy to fight against, especially with the incredible music blaring in the background. Every attempt feels like an adrenaline rush and every loss feels like a new lesson learned, that I don't feel angry or sadden when I fail. In fact, it makes me want to get up and beat the bosses butt up even more!!
Really, the only issue is the slow walking when not in a boss fight. You're kinda just left sitting there waiting for The Stranger to get to the next boss.
Came for the music, stayed for the full aesthetic
probably the most interesting and engaging boss rush game out there.
If you hate yourself, play this game, and if you hate yourself more, go for the achievements. Don't make the same mistake I did, there is still a chance for you to escape from this hell.
8/10 boss battler
12.4 hrs the star n the flame
Awesome boss rush game
If there was a "meh" option between thumbs up and down, I would probably give it that. The gameplay is good, and the music is fantastic, but I have a hard time getting past the painfully generic dialogue ("You're hurting me!" "Go back to your cell!") and some of the weird character designs.
Got angry, quit, came back, repeat
Music is peak
Good game. NOT f*cking fun, actually, but I had to finish it for the satisfaction of being able to finally stop playing it. I killed everyone, let's go. That goddamned bunny is also dead. 2 out of idk how many fights were just so annoying, but the rest were alright to good. there was like 3 good bosses, maybe 4? So yeah, if you wanna rage at a game instead of enjoying one, go play this one. It *is* well made, just completely useless if you're looking for anything other than getting butthurt that you can't finish this or that boss. goodbye game, finally getting you out of my library.
Might be the most fun I've had playing a video game in the past year.
9/10
very fun game. you fight bosses, and listen to a banger soundtrack. gameplay is very fast paced, and is best played on a controller. only downside is that it doesent support ultrawide monitors and cutscenes are unskippable. otherwise, owrht it for the soundtrack alone, 11/10 and it's give itself a 12.
action, boss fights, visuals, soundtrack, yes, good
Damn, this was the biggest mismatch for me in a while. Seeing snippets of what looked like cool boss-rush gameplay with a decent art style, and scored by some great artists? Looks fun enough! Actually getting it in my hands, though? Honestly, I was pretty let down.
The story and writing is present at best and worst, talking itself vaguely through minutes-long walking segments with no real intrigue and gesturing about at things without actually giving anything to really contextualize and care about. I get the feeling I'm maybe supposed to think it's like, cool to just look at the scenery, like it's a sorta lame music video? Annoyance of 1/4th of my playtime just auto-walking, as long as the gameplay and flow-state slaps, it'll be all good, right?
Well unfortunately, the fighting up to where I got felt mostly canned and slow. The tutorial fight is a tutorial fight, whatever. A big charge up here to signal you should dash, a big telegraphed swing and sound cue to parry there, mash X a couple times to cash out damage, shoot some charged shots while the boss waits patiently for it, so on. Felt like it went on for a third longer than it should have, but better safe than sorry from a design perspective, I guess. Onto the next boss, and it largely plays out the same. There's the unique gimmick or two per fight I've seen, but it follows a similar general sequence that feels less like I'm in combat and more like I'm painting by numbers. By the third fight, having lazily chipped away at shields for a minute and then waiting for the boss to appear and attack me, I realized I'm just not having any fun, and I'm quickly losing any care to get further in to possibly find anything more engaging.
I'm sure it gets more varied, more interesting, more...Anything. But I'm afraid other games have spoiled me on what I want out of a game like this, and Furi just isn't for me.
I have a few feelings about Furi. Mostly positive. If you buy it on sale, like I did at $3.99 in April 2025, it's absolutely worth it. I probably wouldn't recommend it at full price. The game is a few hours long and it is very difficult. Some of the difficultly is satisfying to overcome and some of the "bullet hell" difficulty is just frustrating. Gameplay is where this game really shines. It's unique and satisfying. It's a "boss rush" style game, meaning there is ONLY bosses. Each level is a new boss to beat. The music is phenomenal. The story is pretty bad if I am honest, and the unskippable walking scenes between bosses can sometimes go on a bit too long. You'll be spending most of your time in the boss fights, learning the bosses attack patterns and how to beat navigate them. Overall, it's still a good game and a good time to play.
This game is amazing. The art, music, voice acting, and especially the bosses are all super memorable. Furi is the only game that has truly satisfied me — I was always excited to see what kind of boss I'd face next, what new mechanics they'd bring, and most importantly, what kind of art and music would accompany each stage. I was completely hooked and genuinely impressed.
Recommended !!
finished it under 4 hours, this game is SO FUN, has to be one of my top 10 fav indie games of all time, despite the short gameplay, the combat is so fun, satisfying parries, epic fights, cool bosses design, every bosses is unique and don't feel repetitive at all!! the ost is so nice, i can hear this all day while fighting these bosses in one run, underrated, i wish i could introduce this masterpiece to more people out there
good game, great music
Really fun game! I love myself a good boss fight, and all of the bosses were well designed and a lot of fun! It gives you a good blend of melee and bullet hell combat that you are frequently switching between.
The OST also goes crazy and I've been listening to it on Spotify even when I'm not playing the game. It's very good.
My biggest gripe is I wish there was a way to skip walking between the boss fights, or at least if the game gave you something else to do while moving to the next boss fight. The scenery was pretty though and that's when you get most of the story of the game told to you.
Overall it was a very fun game though! I may have to go back and do some of the extra content.
This game wants you to treat it as an art, something to perfect, and by the time you do you'll feel completely unstoppable. Every boss has the same weight as the last in any other game, the build up to each one makes you EAGER to see what they have to offer you.
The jailer is the key, kill them, and you'll be free.
Everything about this game, from the gameplay and soundtrack to the storyline, is amazing. A true masterpiece. The best indie game of all time imho.
It can be really short (like 2 hours at max) after ur first playthrough but it's worth playing it over and over just to master and learn the boss fights and experience the cutscenes and the soundtrack again. Gameplay is also very smooth and it never gets boring. It has a very unique kind of storytelling but it just works. Story is very open to interpretation, but nevertheless, it's beautiful and touching.
Amazing game, no notes, graphically just okay but a very nice style nonetheless
negative reviews have clear skill issues
recommended - yes but only on a sale, not worth $20
had been meaning to play this for years as it was a cult hit on the ps4, but it didn't go on a deep discount till recently for $4.
its a game of (mostly enjoyable) boss fights with weird walking simulator portions in between.
very strong audio-visual aesthetic and experience, gotta love japanese inspired french art!
don't plan on doing the "furier" difficulty but i do want to check out the bonus DLC boss
Beats to relax/slow walk/bully bosses to 🎧
Replayed this game 4 years after my first run. Super satisfying and enjoyable in all aspects and has one of the most bad🅰ss credits sequences I have experienced in a game. Absolute banger.
Good game but they managed to totally nosedive it in the end with the final boss. ''Yeah lets make the final boss all about bullet hell in a game with an isometric perspective'' said no one ever
There are many games like Furi, before and after its release, but when Furi came out it set a standard. If you were going to take a dive into this genre of hack and slash bullet hells and ask for the price of this game or more, this is the quality of game you better have been bringing to the table.
Coming back to it today, I feared that the market may have grown too over saturated with this kind of game, but it pleased me to feel refreshed and motivated to play through the rest from the moment I picked it up.
Whether you're a newcomer looking for the next great experience in these kinds of games or a returning player hoping to relive that first experience, Furi holds the test of time almost 10 years later.
It's quite good and not too long. Worth it for at least one playthrough or if you're looking for a game challenging to 100%
It's pretty good.
Fluid and fast the gameplay is fun. The voice that talks to you in between fights is soothing. The music is also very empowering. Though the game may feel a bit unintuitive at the start versus the tutorial boss, but after that it doesn't really get that much harder (talking only about the base game), which says something. The game is significantly less fun when it takes away the gameplay. The walking segment is interesting but gets boring after the first few times. 7/10
good music, bosses, everything. my favorite game.
One of my top 10 all time fav games Just beat the star tonight and will tackle hard mode next! Don't miss this absolute banger!
It was fun but there was a lot of bvII$hlt.
Banger music and banger gameplay
One of the best indie games I've ever played, incredibly gratifying combat that is hard to learn and harder to master but god is it satisfying when you do. An absolute recommend for players who love being challenged and mastering a game's mechanics to the peak of their ability.
Also paired with one of the best game soundtracks to date.
Every couple of years I come back and do another run on this game, the game play is so satisfying and there is no filler in here. The soundtrack is absurdly good.
Meh, the combat is ass and the classic walking slowly to where you have to go is really boring. Repetitive. Boring in general.
AMAZING game! super recommend to anyone who wants a neat combat.
Honestly I was expecting a lot of things with all the hype this game has gotten. But I cannot for the life of me fathom, how this is entertaining, let alone an amazing game to so many.
The bosses feature multiple health bars split between shooting and melee phases. Both of which feel very unsatisfying and lack sounds and hit feedback. Some of the gimmicks of these bosses are dreadful and are repeated way too often. You are also not allowed to attack whenever you can, but instead, whenever the boss permits you to, being invulnerable or jumping away a lot of the time. All of that with mediocre music and often seemingly mismatched or missing sound effects, feeling very jarring at times. And when you do finally take down a boss, you get to slowly walk (and do nothing else besides that) to the next one with a random guy spouting slow and mispaced exposition at you. The devs even put in an auto-walk feature because they know these sections suck. Why keep them in then?
If all of that has not convinced you, let me summarize the third boss for you:
He is presented as this old monk, meditating and wearing pink headphones for some reason, who constantly throughout the fight says things like "you are fighting yourself" to you. Keep that in mind.
for the first health bar, he is surrounded by three layers of walls, which reflect your projectiles back at you while you are damaging them. It takes a little while to get rid of them, but also every once in a while he shoots an untelegraphed wave of fire towards you, so you can't just sit there shooting. If you land one shot on the boss, the phase ends.
After that he becomes immune, surrounding you with rings of projectiles, you have to dodge at the perfect moment.
Then jumps onto a very tanky pillar you have to destroy with more waves of fire and projectles being thrown your way, some of them blocking your shots with a hitbox 3 times their size. He then fills the arena with more balls and waves, then runs at you at which point you have to be ready to parry. If you do, he then has 2 more melee phases and all of that for a single heath bar. If you did all that, then... get ready... YOU DO EVERYTHING AFTER THE WALLS ALL OVER AGAIN.
Like I said, I really don't know why this has been recieved as well as it has.
Do yourself a favor: If you want a difficult game, that actually is fun and rewarding, buy yourself a Fromsoft game, a platformer like Celeste or Hollow Knight, or any rhythm game.
Boring, frustrating, repetitive, annoying. Just not fun having to do the same sequences with the first ??boss over and over, and it just sits there tanking most of your damage for half the fight. There is no build up to it, just suck it and see if you can put up with what feels like a boss, right from the start. UNINSTALLED.
blue face lady is terrible other than that great game
El juego es divertidisimo me encantan las peleas y lo cinematico del juego
the music slaps, the controls are weird at first but once you get use to them you will have fun parrying the bosses in close combat. i would 100% recommend this game if you have a controller to play with.
