LeftWay is a horror adventure game with creepy mystery where you can’t guess what you are encountering.
The movement of the character is controlled by pressing direction buttons. Camera in the game is a still camera which switches to various angles according to the location that the character arrived.
The character will face unusual things and it seems like she is not in the world she used to be. The player must solve the puzzle in order to pass to the next scene.

I liked the visuals, but the game didn't keep my interest enough to complete it.
The main character and her running cycles are decent, I assume it's rotoscoped from different angles. The environments are atmospheric enough, despite not having all that much detail, overall it is consistent and good enough to look at.
Sounds and music are servicable, nothing that greatly increased my immersion, but it didn't take me out of it completely. As for the quality and ambience, there are barely any sounds, reminds me of minimalistic rpg maker horror games.
The gameplay is what turned me off completely, the puzzles are ok enough, but the clearly superior control scheme for this would've been a point n click, you end up kinda stumbling around, until you bump against an object you want to interact with, which while intuitive to notice, are not as easy to "navigate to" with messy perspective and interactive areas. You're moving in a "3d" space, that is not along a grid, and not a consistent camera angle in general. While a little annoying during puzzles, it has been an awful during chases, naturaly the enemy is not limited by your perception of playable area, so they take fastest route towards you, even though through trial and error, and muscle memory, I finished the first chase, it has been enough to make me drop the game. The story didn't really show me anything, and spritework (while decently done) was in no way creepy, instead going for the good ol list of phobias - manequins, puppets, ghosts etc.
If I find a playthrough on youtube, I might be inclined to watch it, to see if it goes anywhere interesting, but I have no interest anymore to play it myself.
Also the game has translation errors quite often, since it is a very indie project from thailand.
The game is short, tedious, and extremelly frustrating at times, but the word it describes the game the best is: boring. Puzzles are not creative at all, and sometimes the solutions make no sense, or you simply didnt explore an area it was not even clear you could go to. Characters are horrible, and even if there are only two they speak like Skyrim characters, and conversations are awkward and feels like they hate each other, even if thats not the case. The ending is so bad it does not make any part of the journey worth it (the game has 3 endings and every ending is worse than the previous).
Eerie game with unique art-style, though a bit simplistic in nature and short-lived.
Bulk of the gameplay focuses on exploration with occasional creative puzzles. The game manages to create creepy atmosphere with well-chosen fixed camera angles, some creepy imagery and utter silence broken by stomping of the main character. The one, short lived enemy encounter where you have to run away does add nice rush of tension, though unfortunately it does get a bit frustrating due to the enemy's erratic pattern.
The story is largely unengaging due to its simplicity, lack of development and barely defined characters. There are three endings and none of them impresses.
However, the biggest problem is the asking price. The game can be completed in two hours and a half while going for all achievements (it took me two playthroughs, though you could probably cut it two one if you saved before the point of no return). It's just too pricey.
I enjoyed the game overall and do recommend it, but wait for a sale.

Really wanted to like this game. I really tried. But the story was so infuriating. The game really feels like it's going for one angle but half way through it throws an 180 and chooses the most cliche twist and don't get me started on the "true" ending. There's also no sound for the first half of the game except for crickets and it was driving me mad. But the thing that kills the game for me is a chase scene found in the middle of the game. It is so poorly programmed and designed that it feels like luck that you actually managed to get through it. I'm sure half my play time was spent on that part alone. It also did not fit with the rest of the game. It was really annoying and really pointless. The only up is the atmosphere and the art. But that's not enough to save this game sadly.
Disappointing game. Puzzle design is at times incredibly unintuitive. Story is astonishingly simple, despite the game's mysterious atmosphere. Storytelling, while direct, lacks any real weight.
Very Silent Hill-like in it's gameplay and atmosphere. It managed to creep me out, in a subtle way, despite there being no music most of the time. :) It's sound design alone manages to make this game really creepy (in a good way ;) ).

Nampung wakes up alone in a creepy town and she must find a way out.
The likes, well the atmosphere in the game is pretty good and spooky, it gives this nice sense of dread though out the game. The art style is good, I like the black and white hand drawn art of the game.
The music and sound effects in the game were very good and helped the game’s creepy atmosphere be even creepier. The story was okayish just a little confusing. Some of the puzzles in the game were a mixed bag some were okay some were not.
The dislikes, well the price for the game is way too high for such a short game I can understand is the game was $2.99 even $4.99, But $12.99 that is way too much for again for such a short game.
There was a bug in the game where I was putting coins into this hanged person statue and looking at pictures that popped up after, only for one of the pictures to not pop up and just see a black screen and you can't do anything you can't backtrack out you have to exit out of the game and reload your save file.
With all that said, LeftWay is a good, creepy and short horror game. With a pretty good and spooky atmosphere, a good black and white art style, very good music and sound effects. So if you’re looking for a short creepy game, this maybe something you will like. But you have to wait till it’s on sale.
Das Spiel ist top! Die Atmosphäre ist sehr bedrückend und unheimlich, und hat mich etwas an Yesterday erinnert. Es gibt keine dämlichen Jump Scares, die Rätsel sind eigentlich alle recht logisch und einfach. Es gibt allerdings eine Stelle im Spiel, in der man etwas Geschick braucht und sterben kann. Ohne YouTube Tutorial hätte ich an der Stelle aufgegeben. Dank vieler Speichermöglichkeiten aber kein großes Problem.
Die Enden erschließen sich mir nicht so ganz und die englische Übersetzung ist auch nicht immer ganz rund, aber darüber kann ich hinwegsehen.
LeftWay is a unique take on the adventure genre, where you explore a seemingly abandoned town.
Story:
You play as Nampung, she finds herself alone on a dimly lit street, not entirely sure where she is, as you venture deeper into the town you learn why you're there.
Sadly the story in LeftWay isn't any good, it's very hard to follow, because of a few key reasons, one of them is the poor English grammar, a lot of the sentences are misspelled. You can definitely understand what's meant to be said, but when the ending rolls around, you just look at it and think to yourself what the hell just happened ?
Graphics:
The art style of LeftWay is honestly really good. There's a lot of detail put into the environments and honestly the hand drawn aesthetic is really pleasing to look at. I honestly loved just walking around the environments and exploring the abandoned looking city.
Audio:
The game is honestly mostly quiet, but it does have some music and sound effects. The sound effects are a pretty mixed bag. A lot of the one early game are pretty decent, like grasshoppers chirping throughout the night and other things, they honestly help build a pretty decent atmosphere.
The music is ok at best. The few tracks you hear through the game are just pretty bland and honestly they try way too hard to sound creepy, they sound like they are being played backwards and honestly most of it sounds fine for the most part, but they are kind of tiring on the ears after some time.
Gameplay:
LeftWay is an adventure game, but it plays like a classic horror game akin to Resident Evil. You control Nampung with the WASD keys and walk around the environment, with camera angles for each screen. You collect items and use them to unlock other areas of the map, by solving puzzles.
The puzzle design is honestly really not that great. A few of the puzzles are way too easy and a few don't make any sense. There's never the nice middle ground I like in adventure games.
Also there are some parts of the game that are insanely frustrating that made me almost quit out and that's the enemy encounter, it's so poorly made that I'm not surprised if some people actually quit the game, at that sequence.
Verdict:
LeftWay is a really mediocre adventure game. It's great art style is honestly not worth putting up with lackluster puzzles, awful story. If you're interested in this game, I suggest waiting for a discount, because at full price it's honestly not worth it at all.

Great artstyle and good music. The story is not much and not that memorable. A reason for this is that the game dont really have much of a story until the end. I like the puzzel game logic of this game in that it always has a small fence or a somewhat broken street or debris in the way which you easily could get through but the character says its impossible, which forces you to go where the game wants you to go. :) Some good puzzels, but abit much of you forced to walk torwards walls to find a path or some object which is hard to see. The worst part by far is the park with the boy. I think that gameplay element is badly done and hard by the controls. I almost wanted to quit the game there because I got so annoyed.
I started off liking this game, I really did. I bought it after playing fifteen minutes of the demo after all. It builds a great atmosphere with its unique artstyle and airy, empty soundscape that makes you feel alone. Even after it started trying a bit too hard with a creapy music box sound, I was into the presentation.
Buuuuut, it all changed with the first monster you run into. A bunch of hallways you need to run down and avoid a monster that runs just about as fast as you do, forcing you to run in juuuuust the right way or be insta killed. the final room was the last straw for me, or at least I assume it's the final room. The room before it, you have to duck in and out until the ghost monster, instead of stairing right at the entrance, has to fade in, thus wasting enough time for you to pass him. But the final room seems that the ghost will always spawn a bit in front of you, chase you, then fade, forcing you to run back and forth until you reach the exit.
This whole section of dying over and over again completely ruined the pacing and atmosphere, and with the game crashing twice in 40 minutes of pay, I decided that it definitely wasn't worth the price I bought it for (20% off even). I'd wait for it to be 5$ before buying this game if I even want to play it again.

I really like the feeling of this game. It is scary and melancoly at the same time. It is artistic both in graphic and in moments.
The controls are sometimes a bit rough and it can be harder than needed to notice things.
The game is not that long, and fairly easy, but I highly recommend it.
Think of this as a small thriller/adventure game. The puzzle might give you less clue but still not complicated to be solved. for a less than 10$ adventure game, this might not be a game that you would say it's the best. But worth give it a try.
No right way to say this (I know, I know...) but despite a strong art-style, the story lacks a compelling hook.
The locations are creepy, black and white affairs, populated by amputated mannequins.
I want some reasons to go hunting for keys in the garbage other than "because video games".
Game also crashed 5 times while I played it.
