I am 32 years old.
My ex-wife and I have a daughter together, and we adopted our son together. Both are now 4 years old.
When we were going through our separation, I felt lost and unhappy. I was self-destructive. One day, I was so angry with everything spiraling out of control that I punched a concrete wall in a moment of overwhelming emotion. This resulted in breaking my fifth metacarpal in my right hand—the hand I worked with, played games with, and used to carry my children to bed—the hand I desperately needed to ensure I could continue providing.
Upon learning the severity of the self-inflicted damage, I became almost suicidal. Keep in mind that just a few months before this, I was the happiest man, with no history of depression or anxiety. I had never experienced anger outbursts, nor was I the type to break down and cry, but I was in a tough situation that truly prevented me from seeing the light on the other side.
With nothing better to do, I looked for a game I could play WITH ONE HAND while recovering. Somehow, I stumbled upon this game and read some of the comments. I decided it was worth a try... I must admit I didn't beat the game, nor did I play as much as some of you. In fact, I may have played this game for only a day or two. That being said, after doing so, I had a new joy and hope for life. I managed to leave behind the pain and suffering that had been thrust upon me. I could experience the joy and happiness of other people. I relaxed for 5 ♥♥♥♥ minutes listening to this music, long enough to realize that I would be okay.
After realizing this, I turned off the game and went back to work. My hand hurt a lot, but I was motivated. I stopped feeling so sorry for myself and became the father I needed to be at that moment, not the weak boy I was behaving like.
Today, I am close friends with the mother of my children. We don't fight, argue, or say hurtful things to each other. We are parents and friends.
Now I have 3 children. My third child is, wait, ALSO 4 YEARS OLD. The woman I am with was going through a very similar situation at the time of my separation, and we just unexpectedly stumbled into each other's lives. We have been dating for a year and are very happy together.
Moral of the story: you never know what life has in store for you, and if I had given up when all odds were against me, I wouldn't be where I am today. This silly little game helped me realize that.

Leaderboards are completely broken, yielding a wall of error text, and the game doesn't support a local scoreboard - so you can't easily keep track of your personal bests.
A strange 2D Shooter with a weird bounce mechanic.
An interesting mix of a shoot 'em up and a kind of a platformer, Hyper is a decent game to play.
It's only real problems are its horrible text gradients and menu design, overly active backgrounds and clusterfuck of sound that causes audio dropouts regularly because the game was trying to play too much at once.
It's oddly over designed in those areas and needs to be trimmed down a bit.
It's a fun game, but the leaderboards are broken and there's no way to save scores locally as far to my knowledge. To me that's a crippling flaw with any arcade game on Steam and because of this, I can't recommend the game.
Worst platformer/shooter I've played in ages.
This game gets it all wrong. Gamepad controls can't be configured and the configuration is badly chosen. Rules are poorly explained, complex and not any fun.
And finally, after only a few minutes of gameplay, when I tried to restart from the first level in classic mode the game locked up on me.

You can spend hours playing this without realising, just trying to beat your high score.
Their hasn't been a Flump Studios Video game i did'nt like. their like the Quentin Tarantino and Robert Rodriguez's of Old school games. Even their bad games are fun. Really their aren't bad games. i have ownd them all. love them all.
What do you get if you try to put the mechanics of a Mario game into a shmup? Hyper Bounce Blast is what!
This game is awesome, it's like shmup equivalent of patting your head whilst rubbing your tummy - playing a twin stick shooter to kill off the red / green bad guys whilst simultaneously trying to keep airbourne by bouncing off the blue ones so that your shield stays active and you can absorb enemy bullets to charge your hyper for the bosses.
Like all shmups it improves as you learn the levels, and the bosses are sort of where this game shines, they're a cross between the koopa bosses out of Super Mario World on the SNES and geometry wars.
Regardless of anything else, this game is worth owning just for the sheer audacity of the play mechanic combination!!

Very cool and creative twin-stick shoot 'em up with platforming elements. If you are a fan of bullet hell shooters or if you like good games in general, you might want to check this one out. The elaborate scoring system makes it a fantastic arcade game that you can sink countless hours into. The developer is also very helpful and fixed a problem I had with the controls right away.
A fun twin-shooter that reminds you that bouncing is a blast. A definite recommend to shmup fans ^_^

A 2D shmup where Mario jumping meets Jeff Minter-esque shooting. It also feels a like a rhythm action title with the bouncing to the music whilst shooting. It shouldn't work in practice but the Devs have pulled it off in a playable slick package. Great!
