Nubs' Adventure is an exploratory platformer in which you help Nubs rebuild his house after it was destroyed by the evil Reds. But Nubs is not alone! With him on his journey are his friends: the tiny wisp Ally and a huge worm named Brute.
Explore four different world, each with their own secrets, enemies and traps. Control Nubs, as well as the wisp Ally and the worm Brute. Fight the evil Reds in epic boss fights. Solve puzzles and collect diamonds to rebuild your house in this oustanding platforming adventure!

Very good metroid platformer, simple and enjoyable. Controls are almost perfect. Can be challenging at times which is good too. All achievements are obtainable with a little effort.
A hidden gem [8/10]
Fun game
This shit was hard, I got very angry at parts, and over all raged way to much on this game, but it was all worth it and you should buy this game because it's probably one of my favorite platformers and over all is one of my favorite games story, art and gameplay wise.

This game is actually good!Not many people play this game but I think this is a fun and playable little game.
I remember getting this game on my ipad years ago and I’m really glad I came back to it on an actual computer.
The platforming is great, the soundtrack is beautiful, and the art is incredibly consistent and very well done.
I finished it in just over 6 hours and by the end I was wishing for more (which is a good thing.)
$1 per hour might seem like a lot for a video game (especially when compared to something like terraria) but I found it well worth the money.
Definitely recommend.
This is another wonderful underappreciated gem, the game is simple yet has a beautiful attention to detail, the gameplay is relaxing while still offering a challenge. I originally purchased the game when it was still in beta on the iphone after first trying and enjoying the developers previous mobile game "Rico", I believe. The release of Nub's Adventure on Steam pleasantly caught me by surprise offering me another change to experience this wonderful game on a larger screen and with achievements too. The game may start off slow and if your not paying attention you can loose track of where to go, but if you give this game the chance it deserves you will be rewarded with a truly unique and beautiful experience.

However, as with anything else, this is a matter of opinion...
Decent game. It's pretty straightforward once you get about halfway in. The UI scared me because usually a mediocre UI means a crappy game, but this game is a rare exception. Though I do have two major complaints:
1. the worm - this thing controls like a piece of shit. And there are two parts in the game where you can die using this thing. In the sky area, you can fall off (and oh is it way too easy to fall off), and there's a boss fight you have to do with this thing. It just feels like a giant fuck-you to the player. Worst mechanic in the game.
2. that area on the east end of the map.

So there's this route you can take in the sky that takes you back down into a cave. I had to visit this damned area four times. The first time, I didn't have the rune key. The second time, I realized I needed to raise a bridge from the other side to continue. The third time, I got there and realized that the switch I press did not, in fact, activate both bridges like I thought it would. The fourth time I finally got through. This wouldn't be so bad if the path to this area wasn't so fucking long. Bruh, that area needs a teleporter. You could put it to the left of the rune gate before you enter the cave. EZ.
Other than that, the game's pretty good.
$7 is a bit of a salty price, though. Definitely get it on sale.

+ Amazing level design. It's kind of a small open world there you unlock more and more of it in time.

- Pretty short, 3-4 hours (100% completion). I really wish game was much longer.
- Background is really blurry, not sure if intended, but I'd prefer higher resolution.

Less of a metroidvania & more of a platformer. Nub's Adventure, was a pretty fun experience. While it was mostly a laid back, casual platformer, there were a couple moments that were frustratingly challenging.
This is definitely worth a look. $7.00 might be a bit steep though.
Great game as a whole. Beautiful art, as well as a simple yet compelling story. I did take issue with a particular fight (maybe about halfway through the game) that seemed to require way too much RNG for my liking, but I got passed it working with what I could and I'm glad I did. Its nice to play a game here and there that just lets you explore and take things in strides like this gem did. The puzzles and platforming all just make it one good adventure. The game isn't too long but I feel the price point is okay for this game. If you get it on sale like I did then even better and it will make it truly worth it!
Interesting 2D platform game but not a metroidvania one because you improve nothing. Not bad game but it's more an exploration game (i finally got bored)
PROS: responsive controls + well made map so you don't get lost and keep you informed + each enviroment has his own enemies and puzzles
CONS: no story here (just collecting diamons to have your house built)

A beautiful little Metroidvania with excellent music, challenging but fair gameplay and a lot of heart.
One of the best Greenlight games I've ever played and actually the first time I've felt compelled to complete a game 100% for the achievements.
Make a home for this in your collection, it's a steal and an excellent use of 10 hours or so.
I like it although some parts where frustrating to me because I hate platforming.
This is a really charming game. It has a very present sense of identity. Contols are generally pretty good, graphics are vibrant and stylish, the music is very relaxing and well-done. The story is a nice change of pace from the hack'n'slash or shoot-everything-that-moves tropes, and goes a long way to set a serene atmosphere.
I've noticed some use the term metroidvania to descsribe this title... I'm not sure I agree with that. It does have pregression to new areas by backtracking through older areas but the progression is through found keys and flipped switches rather than new abilities/mechanics not previously avaiable. Maybe nit-picky on my part, and I don't mean it as a mark against the game. The exploration is rather fun and the levels are interestingly designed. The primary means of progression is through finding and collecting crystals, and it may take several re-visits to a given area to find them all... some areas have hidden entrances from later parts of the game and others are simply well hidden.
I noticed some reviewers have complained about the worm sections. The worm controls like the supersheep in worms. It is constantly moving forward and the player turns it left or right. But it moves through the ground and assumes a parabolic trajectory out of the ground. Some of the objectives while controlling the worm are out of the ground and require somewhat precise arcs. I actually enjoyed these parts, as it was an interesting change of pace, and occasionally rather challenging.
I didn't particularly like the last boss fight. I found myself dying a lot due to the a rubber-band kind of effect with how the player moves in the fight sequence and unclear boundaries to the arena, and found it difficult to time my attacks due to the how the player's weapon functions. However, in the end (and after probably 30+ deaths), I did make it through.
In the end, I rather enjoyed the game and would love to see more from this developer. This is exactly the kind of game I think of when I think of indies. It is designed with a lot of love and heart, and this shows through when playing the game.
Cute, fun little platformer.
This game was frustrating at times, but ultimately a lot of fun.
I would not call this a Metroidvania. There are no weapon upgrades, double jump or other upgrades. It is straight exploration, find the keys and gems type of game. There is a lot of backtracking to open doors once you find the key or symbol needed.
It is slower paced, with some action but most of the enemies don't pose much of a threat.
It saves your progress at the numerous checkpoints and every time you switch areas. There are a few sequences that could have used an extra checkpoint but overall there were enough. There are also a couple of places where you go through a long sequence of moving things around, opening doors, etc. then something pops up and kills you and you have to repeat it.
There are 3 or 4 boss fights. One of them was too random and luck-based, too easy to unavoidably get hit and quite frustrating (unless there is a trick to it I didn't notice), but the others were fine and moderately challenging.
I finished in 8.3 hours. It was well worth the price, in my opinion.
